I miss HP Legos only in the sense that I was just coming out of my dark ages in '09/'10 and so I was only buying some HP sets (I missed alot of the larger ones, like Hogwarts Castle and Diagon Alley), as I was hooked on SW and still getting back into the idea of Legos. If I knew then what I know now, I'd have gone in alittle heavier.

I also miss the idea of HP Legos in terms of how much better Legos have become since '09/'10. I feel like the HP stuff ended at a time when Lego was adding more alternate facial expression and detailed printing. Who knows how good the HP stuff could be if Lego produced it today?

It's a huge shame Lego don't do a couple of old theme revisits a year, with a remake or new set from a years-retired theme. I bet it'd drag a few people out their dark ages.

Harry Potter is the best selling book series and highest grossing movie franchise of all time, so clearly they are epics.

I regret not buying some of these sets at the time. I remember eyeing them and thinking they were fantastic structures. I wasn't collecting LEGO at the time, and have no love for Harry Potter in general.

The 'Diagon Alley'(sp?) and 'Hogwarts' castles were lovely buildings though.

You have a good point but the movies were no that good in comparison with epics like Cleopatra, especially 1-2 and 5-6. And it's very likely that's going to change after the release of Star Wars VII, VIII and IX.

I certainly miss Harry Potter Lego, I wish they were still making sets for it as it was a great theme that consisted of more buildings than vehicles which I must say were fantastic. Even thought the films are over and done with I guess you could say the same thing for Star Wars until next year. :classic:

I have my gripes with the movies, but the books are amazing. Definitely deserving to be one of the top (if not the top) fantasy series of all time. And when you say 1-2 and 5-6 are you talking about star wars?

My main regret about the Harry Potter LEGO line was that they never released a "proper" Hogwarts Castle. By proper I mean the kind of UCS-size set you'd see for the Death Star in the Star Wars line.. a big castle, that opens up (or has a facade on one side and is open in the back) with most of the recognizable rooms such as the dining room, a couple classes, the basement for the potion classes, Dumbledore's office, the observatory tower, etc...

I'd have been ready to fork out quite a lot of money for that kind of set, but I think they mostly aimed the sets at children for this line (which is expected, Harry Potter is mostly child-oriented). Oh well!

I don't really miss it but I understand very well how someone could. Especially the 2010 / 2011 sets were amazing and I seriously considered getting the Hogwarts sets, but there is only enough money and space for a couple of themes. What I seriously miss, though, is Indiana Jones and Exo Force.

I meant HP movies

As for sets, the only way for Harry Potter coming back to Lego is through "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" or if they decide to make more spin offs (like a movie about the first war against Voldemort, which IMO has potential).

It's not actually Harry Potter, but at least is an expansion of the HP universe

That's true no HP but the inclusion of the Beasts and Monsters should be great in Lego molded form. Hopefully Lego will pick up on this because it can have great potential.

I hope so, but it's going to be heavy on molded parts and there's no guarantee it'll have the popularity of HP so... Who knows, we'll have to wait and see. I reckon it'd be a good theme if they picked it up, but we'd probably only get a small wave.

Yeah I miss the sets aswell.. they were fun sets to build and also great partspacks (tan, sandgreen and grey),They had a lot of nice fleshie minfigs that were pretty useful.

Well if you put the 4842 and 4867 extension together you've got a pretty decent size Hogwarts. MOC up a little Greenhouse for Professor Sprout and you're pretty much there.

I totally do! Have just started working on my second large scale HP MOC. Whilst building I've watched the first 5 movies this week already! Love the books, love the movies, especially love the LEGO. Still a few sets to track down from the early 2000's till I'm happy with my collection, but if they ever do release any more I will want them ALL!

I miss all the excitement that surrounded the books, movies and the Lego sets. I only have 2 or 3 sets, but I did manage to obtain almost all the minifigures.

Also I miss the HP Mocs, but I am trying to fulfill my HP needs by myself. I am currently building this:

i think it will return when fantastic beast and where to find them is released

I'm hoping/thinking the same thing. My wife & I are DEFINITELY goin to see that movie when it comes out, and I'm hoping for some good sets based on it (particularly some of the magical creatures).

I miss it too ! I have just watched the 7 movies a couple of weeks ago, I am so nostalgic, Harry Potter was the hero of my childhood :excited: ! And of course I loved the LEGO Sets

I miss the Harry Potter series too. The Malfoy Manor scketch that was in the "Building the Magical World" book would have been nice, along with a (these is my idea) D2C "19 years later" set with a Emerald Night-style Hogwarts Express, Platform 9 3/4 and the Potter & Weasley families' children.

That way, they could have thrown that exclusive figure that was with the book in an actual set!

...And yes, I know the Diagon Alley set was the final hurrah (so far) for HP, but this could have been released a year or so later. :sweet:

Still waiting for an actual Hogsmeade set. I also refuse to believe that the line is forever dead until I get my Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff torsos.

I miss the theme but I doubt TLG would bring it back unless there is a reboot of the movies, which could happen in 20 or 30 years

I've always thought that the Harry Potter books would work better as a long term TV series than as films. It saves on cutting stupid amounts of content because of the time constraints.

I am really hoping for a couple of sets to be remade when Fantastic Beasts comes out. I don't think it will recreate the massive popularity that Harry Potter had the first time but I think it's likely to cause enough of a revival that if TLG still have licensing agreements in place it would make sense for them to at least do a couple of key scenes - e.g Dumbledor's office.

While Newt is never going to meet Harry he potentially might meet Dumbledor and a few others - one thing that's really hard to get a good grip on when reading around the Potterverse are characters ages, but Newt was involved with Hogwarts and his family does end up in England (as one of his descendants marries Luna) so it's very hard to know exactly what we might get from Lego based on fantastic beasts.

I really do. LEGO Harry Potter was the thing that made me become an AFOL in the first place (at least it pushed me over the edge). I own all the flesh colored minifigures and 2010-2011 sets but I still want MORE :hmpf_bad::wub:

I also refuse to believe that the line is forever dead until I get my Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff torsos.

Same dude same.
