weavil Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 It's looking great like the rest of your tanks! Quote
Tommy Styrvoky Posted September 5, 2014 Author Posted September 5, 2014 I built the octangular turret , it's complete with a small interior. It includes the breech and breech guard. This part caused quite a lot of headaches because of its tapered, round shape, and don't forget mostly hollow. It seems slightly too large but i think that may be caused by the lack of the rear tail portion of the tank. Tommy Styrvoky Posted September 5, 2014 Author Posted September 5, 2014 wow, I love the end result, congratulations! it's not finished yet, it's still missing the engine compartment details Quote
Tommy Styrvoky Posted September 8, 2014 Author Posted September 8, 2014 the engine bay has been mostly built (besides some of the engine) here is the reference photo for the engine bay, it's from a Takom 1/16 model (around the same size as my MT build) Most of the engine is complete, though it needs some small revisions that need to be done. Tommy Styrvoky Posted September 9, 2014 Author Posted September 9, 2014 Some more progress on the rear portion of the vehicle, The revised engine is partially complete, i'm still trying to figure out how to attach the upper headers to the main block/valve linkages. It's also missing the small details on the sides of the engine block. Erik Leppen Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 This is shaping up to be a very good entry, really. Specially with all the different angles. Surprised you managed to fit the large turntable in the turret. Also I like what you did with the large disks to form the front end of the tracks. Neat job so far, can only become better :) Quote
Eraman Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Really nice job, i am sure that I will give some points for you on voting:) Quote
Tommy Styrvoky Posted September 10, 2014 Author Posted September 10, 2014 I built the hatch covers for the rear engine deck, the rear turret doors were revised . all thats left to build is the engine and the tail that prevents the vehicle from flipping when crossing trenches. captainmib Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 You have done a really nice job on this. I think it's an excellent original MT model. Quote
MajklSpajkl Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Great!!! Do you have any custom stickers in mind? Quote
Tommy Styrvoky Posted September 10, 2014 Author Posted September 10, 2014 Great!!! Do you have any custom stickers in mind? no, nothing really planned, I don't have any proper decal paper or a good printer. Quote
MajklSpajkl Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Nevermind, I was just asking. It is a fantastic achievement, just thought that decals would spice it up a little... Quote
AndyCW Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 I love the simplicity of the track tensioners. v/r Andy Quote

If I do make decals for it it would probably be Le tigre and the French insignia . Edited September 10, 2014 by Tommy Styrvoky Quote

To be honest, I know just about zero about real life tanks:-S I guess it is not that complicated to make some decals the way Sariel explained and a regular ink jet would be enough...well I certainly am not the one to be talking, since I never tried it :$ Quote

Great man, you can also airbrush!? ...that's another thing I always admired but never tried it... So I googled this "French insignia" thing and I get just to much results - do you have anything particular in mind? Oh, I didn't check the MT competition rules, if custom stickers are even allowed - if they're not, than I'm sorry to even bother you about them Best regards, miha Quote

Rishab N Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 This is turning out really well. Looking forward to the final result Quote
