Klaus-Dieter Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 (edited) Hello everybody! This is my first MOC I release on EB: Wild West Hold-Up On The Governor The governor is with his coach on his way to his palace. Four soldiers attend him as bodyguards. The trip has been very calm and unspectacular until he and his protectors come through the canyon. Suddenly a rock topples down. Two robbers and Santa Legorana (the robbers' boss) jump out of their hiding place with a machine gun on two wheels. They rob the coach and take the governor as hostage. Will the soldiers be so intelligent to liberate the governor?... This MOC set includes a canyon with a rock which can topple down to block the governor and his soldiers the way, the governor's coach, four horses, two coach horses, a safe and a machine gun on two wheels. Minifigs are the governor, a coachman, 2 soldiers, 2 robbers, Santa Legorana, a captain and a sergeant. The canyon was built by myself, the coach by my "little" brother. Some more pics are following in the next minutes. Santa Legorana is jumping out of his secret hiding place: Edited April 3, 2008 by Hinckley Quote
Stauder Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 Very nice! But 1 question... Why is there an extra horse? or is it just me? Can we have a pic form a nother side? *y* Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 KD: first let me say that is really nice to see some other WW fans on Eurobricks, and most importantly, one that has actually shared one of their creations. In regard to your MOC, what really grabs my interest is the mountain scene. I like the idea of combining two tan baseplates length wise to add a mountain scape. This is a nice idea, esp if one ever plans to build a train layout. Secondly, I like the action scene. You've got the cavaly accompanying the stage coach, and a clean little hold-up, being a key element in classic western movies. In terms of my suggested improvements; realizing your little brother built the stage coach, you may want to bring the wheels a bit closer and work on the cab a bit. Interesting choice of colors. Is that orange? Not a bad color if so. I would also take out the clear windows pieces. The door actually looks pretty good. I like the safe in the back. Is that a custom money decal? You might also want to add some steps hanging down below the door for your figs to hop on. Overall, this is a neat little MOC with some great potential. Oh, and I also like your story. A few suggested word changes: Use the word Mansion instead of Palace. I think it is more an appropriate word for the Old West. Use Gatling Gun instead of Machine Gun. Sounds much more western. Nice job! *y* Quote
Brick Miner Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 (edited) i agree that is it nice to see some more WW MOCs on EB... i really think the WW characters are some of the best minifigs LEGO produced... seeing them in different scenes is always enjoyable. BTW, i love the orange coach color... i wish the color was available in more pieces, i'd convert my stage coach to orange... im serious, i abslutely love it !!! i really like the doors too. though, i feel like the front pair of wheels need to come in closer to the cabin of the coach. i'd like to see some more photos, as its hard for me to tell what is really going on with the mountain passage. - Brick Miner Edited June 17, 2007 by Brick Miner Quote
Asuka Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 The classic bandits ambush.... a really good idea and a very nice landscaping. Orange works fine with that stage coach, and that whole scenery Quote
iamded Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 Very good! Great mountainscape, awesome coach. Orange is an awesome colour! *wub* Very nice action scene. *y* *y* Quote

Asuka Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Very nice pictures indeed.... and the rock, well, ahem, just rocks.... :-D Quote
Athos Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 I'm not sure what you were going for here. Were you trying to make it look like something that could have been an official set? It really gives off that vibe. If so, I think its too long and it has way too many horses. Other than that, it is a pretty good WW MOC. Steve Quote
