If I may offer a tiny bit of advice, for the middle section (the long bar), I would put the top and bottom plates in-between 2 rows of technic bricks. That way, your panels on the side can be fixed on both rows, improving the structural integrity of the model.

Check A and B on the following excellent example:

This being said, I would love getting your LDD file at some point. :)

Thats actually a pretty good idea, Thanks. :classic:

I'll probably post the LDD file once I've finished it so you'll be able to get it then.

Been working on the Nebulon-B Frigate over the week end so I thought I'd post a update.

First thing I did was work on the plates on the front section quite a bit so they look a bit more like the actual thing. I've also increased the strength of the center section by adding a second row of beams under the original row. These two main beams almost run straight through the entire length of the model so it should be much stronger now.

Another update on my Nebulon B Frigate today. I've done quite a bit of work on the rear engine section to make the shape of it look a bit closer to the actual thing although I have messed up the internal structure a bit but oh well, I'l fix that at some point. What do you all think?

I was a bit hesitant at first, but this last picture, it looks sooo much better! That rear section is a huge improvement over the first picture. What do you plan to do to this next?

Great job, keep up the work!

I'll probably do some more work on the bottom front section plates and maybe a few smaller details here and there.

This is getting better and better. Keep up those great updates.

Thanks. :classic:

Nice progress ape!

Do you plan to keep it all lbg?

Keep it up!

Thanks mortesv. :classic:

I want to get the colour as close to the actual thing as possible but I'm not sure what colours to do everything in yet. Any tips? :classic:

Very nice progress and glad I could have been of some help.

For colors, keep the LBG for external plates and use DBG for the front details. Do not hesitate to add a colored strip or two on the ship using a color like dark blue, dark red, sand green, sand blue... Google for Nebulon B images and find inspiration. :)

I've done a bit more work on my Nebulon B Frigate over the past week and what I've been focusing on this time is the colours. I've done a test render in pov-ray to see what the colours are going to look like when I do the final renders as the colours are a bit different in LDD to LDView/Pov-ray as you can see in these two pictures. What do you think?

You've made some amazing progress! I really like the angled plates rather than the slopes so good job with that! If I may request that when you quote someone that has a picture in it, would you mind deleting the picture before posting? Thanks!

That looks really good already. But I'd add some more color, like one dark red or a dark green part of the model. I know that it's hard to see in the movie but the Nebulon-B isn't entirely grey.

Woops, sorry, that didn't come to mind. I'll try to remember that for the future. :classic:

Yeah I've still got a lot more work to do colour wise. It won't be staying all grey for too long.

What a big changes from the first picture!

The last CAD project looks very nice ...amazing work on the rear of the ship!

Thanks. :classic:

Just a quick update today. I've been working on the colours a bit since the last update as well as a few smaller details here and there. I've changed the plates where the red line is to be a bit smoother and I've also added a bit of colour to certain places as well.

Just a quick update today as I haven't managed to work on it much this week. I've just been adding a few more details here and there around the model.

I am following this with bated breath.

Apemax, may I please know what would the approx length of your Nebulon be?
