garethjellis Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 What is the most creative thing you have done with a track storage pin? Quote
v6TransAM Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Thrown them away to this point Not very creative, but lacking a better use I was getting quite a stack going. Quote
paul_delahaye Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 I use them to hold 4 pieces of track together when I don't have the track in a layout Quote
SavaTheAggie Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Handles on shipping containers. Sections of street lamp poles. --Tony Quote
alois Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Handles next to the doors of my tram. It puts a little bit too much stress on the clips I've put them into, which will be a problem for later use. Quote
AussieJimbo Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 What is the most creative thing you have done with a track storage pin? Handrails on my yellow Maersk loco. :classic: Quote
Daedalus304 Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 I found them to be very handy on pistons, actually, as they're about 5L and have a stop on the end. I used them in this way on my 4-4-0 design, and while the engine has been almost entirely rebuilt the track pins have never been under consideration for replacement. Quote

Mark275 Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Glued them on a 6x1 tile . The 1x4 antenna's don't exist in dark bluish gray. Quote
Hrw-Amen Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Yes, good one, that piston idea will solve a lot of problems. Well done. Quote
grymg Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 That is great use of a spanner wrench accessory as well. Quote
leg01982 Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 I use them at dead ends on the tracks! put the pin up through the hole in the track and it stops it going off the track! a quick fix until i build a buffer. Quote
Dread Pirate Rob Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 They make great loads for my track repair train. Must try the piston use, that is brilliant. Quote
