Korden Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Wow awesome pics, make changes is good. I see that the difficult parts remain the same . Amazing pictures indeed of a super amazing model!!! Thank you much! and F40 in my collection : Quote

Jim Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Immediately recognizable ! Congratulations ! Hi, Welcome to EB! Nice of you to join. However, we've noticed you are resurrecting old posts in Technic and LDD, just to say "it's awesome". Please be aware that useless topic bumping is frowned upon. Have fun! Quote
Lox Lego Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 So nice!! One question tho, I notice many cars with nothing covering the front wheels. Wouldn't it be look nicer with a full hood covering them? Quote
flyboy01 Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 yes, but it is very difficult to find an appropriate piece(s). If you think that they should be covered, do it yourself. Quote
jorgeopesi Posted February 24, 2016 Author Posted February 24, 2016 (edited) So nice!! One question tho, I notice many cars with nothing covering the front wheels. Wouldn't it be look nicer with a full hood covering them? Good question and sorry for repost, in my opinion if you cover the wheels they will touch when the suspension works or you will have less turning radius, for my first functionalty and then aesthetics. One more time IMO Technic looks for the basic lines using less pieces as posible in order to conquer maximum performance. We talk again we will have the new flex panels in normal colors. AFOLegofan66 Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 really like the shape and design...this will be fun to build!! Quote
2LegoOrNot2Lego... Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 Nice and realistic I would say...! :-) Quote

Lego2016Lego Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 (edited) Nice and realistic I would say...! :-) You are right and, I would like to build a cool MOC like this one day Edited April 1, 2016 by Lego2016Lego Quote
technic_addict Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 jorgeopesi, I will be building this iconic model in the near future once my parts order comes in but I was curious if you knew about some of the change done by Thorsten50? There is quite a large amount of parts difference between the two models on rebrickable. Great job on the model! Quote
jorgeopesi Posted April 8, 2016 Author Posted April 8, 2016 Thanks, I know it, anybody can have my MOC or a MOD of it, everything is always improvable and more using the new parts available. If you give some time I am working with the competizione version, I have done a new and more simple chassis and the bodywork will be improve too. II will do instructions for it, if somebody wants to change again of course no problem. Quote

This is going to be my first MOC I will be attempting and I have purchased over 85% of the parts so far. I'm still relatively new to the Lego hobby as I started buying the UCS Star Wars kits about a month ago. What really got me connected with this F40 MOC is from seeing the new Technic Porsche 911 kit. I'm more of a Ferrari fan and while the official Ferrari F40 from Lego looks good to me, I wanted something closer to the level of the Technic Porsche 911 kit. This F40 MOC is definitely on par with that and I cannot wait to see your Competizione version. How far along are you in the build? Thanks again! Quote
jorgeopesi Posted June 14, 2016 Author Posted June 14, 2016 Thank you bricks360 in fact I still have to redo the hood and trunk, everything is rebuild modular, stronger and with less pieces. The steering wheel is better, the hood will be more rigid but this version hasn´t got gearbox because I wanted it more simple. I need more time for the porsche contest and to do good instructions, free instructions of course. Quote
filuS Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 Looking good so far, I like the idea of trying to reduce parts count. I don't know how much of a redesign you are doing but I am really looking forward to your new version of F40 - I might put it to my Ferrari "collection" after all. What keeps me away from your first version is the front hood - I simply couldn't see a much of an F40 in it. Plus 18x 44 - those are quite expensive (thankfully there are no #3 angled connectors). Quote
jorgeopesi Posted June 14, 2016 Author Posted June 14, 2016 You are right filuS, in the end I am not happy enough with the front hood, I think it had to be 1 stud longer with another angle. The competizione version has not retractable lights so I will do a better and more rigid hood and a bigger black spoiler for the trunk, I know that I never won't be happy enough with it but it is my fault. Quote
filuS Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 I guess F40 is not exactly the most "technic-friendly" car to design - front hood is basically long, continuous arch, which is very hard to imitate with bricks/panels. You set yourself for a very hard task :) But I think Competizione version might be a bit easier to make, mostly because of much bigger air-intake holes on top of the hood. By the way - not being satisfied with your creation is a good thing, that's what drives people to learn and get better :) Quote
Rikus Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 For this nice F40, i made custom Wheels Very nice, Polo... Would it be possibile to receive the stl file for the wheels? Or are you going to sell the wheels, somehow? Thanks Quote

I still love the original, but also am looking forward to owning the new one too! Thank you for all your hard work you are putting into it. It is very much appreciated!! Looking forward to seeing the instructions. Quote
bricks360 Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 For this nice F40, i made custom Wheels I love the custom wheels. Are they for sale? Quote
Driftworks Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 The shift lever works like in a normal car and it is not on the gearbox is in front of it, this way can be closer to the ground, all my cars use it. the gearbox is really cool design Quote
jorgeopesi Posted June 20, 2016 Author Posted June 20, 2016 the gearbox is really cool design I always say that I saw this type gearbox in Tyler Reid cars, you need more room but you get more realism. Quote
