CADScott Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Truly amazing work, an brilliant model! Quote
Kubavet Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 What a beauty! It's one of my favourite cars, You did great job :) Quote
jorgeopesi Posted September 2, 2014 Author Posted September 2, 2014 Thank you for nice comments . A few inside pics... Here the modular mode activated. Shift lever Tyler Reid style, more real but less reliable than the Lego one. The chassis has been designed to be RC that is why I had to put more soft springs in the front axle, to do it RC again is easy but there are a lot of changes. The front axle with the 8448 piece, I love it, it lets you do some very realistic steerings. Quote
Legoism Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Fantastic!! One of my all-time favourite cars. Quote
Jim Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Hey big guy! This is absolutely one of the best super cars around (I tend to say that a lot lately). The modular bodywork is well executed and the looks of the car are spot on Quote
Eraman Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Very-very nice car, good shape, i love it soooo much Quote
Awaken_M1nd Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 I will join to other comments. This model is outstanding! Quote
kamsohal Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 when you do your instructions, will it be a rc or manual version Quote
Balrog Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 when you do your instructions, will it be a rc or manual version manual Quote

More pics while I wait for the camera of my sister in law to take better ones. zux Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Sooo beautiful and reconizeable! One of my favorite supercars ever. I'd love to build one. Quote
Lakop Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Brilliant work! It might be me but from your pictures it does not look too complicated, by that I mean it looks like you used a lot of common parts which will make it easier for others to build. One of the best technic cars i've seen here. H Quote

I changed all pics without edit yet and 4 more. Quote
Splat Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Great work jorgeopesi I especially like how you have used the flex axles around the rear wheels. Quote
Appie Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 (edited) Really amazing work! I never thought of doing that for a gearbox, cool touch. I know from the WIP topic you spend quite some time on the hood and had multiple setups, but looking at the video of the RC version you posted in this topic I had a question. The angle of the hood near the front window looks pretty sharp with the rest of the hood in this manual version. It looks smoother in the RC version. The construction also seems a little different in the RC version. Is that a last minute edit that you didn't put in the manual pictures yet? Or is it just a slight difference between the 2 versions? I personally like the angle of RC hood more, put this looks good too. Edited September 4, 2014 by Appie Quote
Meatman Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 I just noticed that you are using a chain to connect the steering wheel. Was there no alternative? Quote
piterx Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 great car man! absolutely well done :) Quote
jantjeuh Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 The rear is the best part IMO. That's totally F40. Quote
jorgeopesi Posted September 4, 2014 Author Posted September 4, 2014 Or is it just a slight difference between the 2 versions? I personally like the angle of RC hood more, put this looks good too. I know what you say, I prefer the last version because it has a better wheel arch but the front is worst, anyway I will put the 2 hoods in the LDD, maybe I could build the first one and take some pics and see the result . I just noticed that you are using a chain to connect the steering wheel. Was there no alternative? The hood of the car is a nightmare and the steering wheel is very close to the wheels, maybe fighting a little I could find a better solution in the manual version (impossible in RC) but I would loose the room for the servo and I would keep it in case someone does the rc one. I think the better part of the car is the outside sure somebody can improve the inside. Quote
D3K Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 The F40 is one of my all time favourite cars, and your Technic interpretation of it is pretty much spot on! Absolutely love it! If I were to build and display one Technic Supercar, this would surely be it, no doubt about that! Quote
Edwin Korstanje Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Congrats with your stunning F40 and it´s blogged at TLCB. http://thelegocarblog.com/2014/09/04/ferrari-f40-picture-special/ Quote
jorgeopesi Posted September 5, 2014 Author Posted September 5, 2014 Thank you for all comments, I am working with the LDD and I noticed that the spoiler is a millimeter larger than the 24 studs required, in the assembly fit perfectly so I will do an articulated spoiler with a imperceptible curve and it will be even better I hope. In case anyone wants to go looking... I'm not good and neither with LDD... https://www.dropbox.com/s/deqmgt8z2ebpj6z/Port%C3%B3n.lxf?dl=0 Quote
