Black-Build Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 (edited) Now for a long time I'm planning to make a bigscale Hummer H1 with a lot of features. I'll try to make the realistic suspension (double wishbone with portal axles) and also want to include the inboard brakes. Now here's my problem: Does the real Hummer has a center diff and can it be locked? I wasn't able to find some clear information about this on the internet. And if I'm right the real one has no front and rear diff lock but uses its brakes or something? (I thought I read that somewhere) Also, it has a automatic gearbox, I think I'll have to change this to a sequential one. Now if anyone knows an awnser to one of these questions, please tell me, help is greatly apriciated. Also please tell me what other functions you would like to see... Zerobricks Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 A quick google search and you can find this: http://auto.howstuffworks.com/four-wheel-drive4.htm Good luck! Quote
Black-Build Posted September 2, 2014 Author Posted September 2, 2014 Ok, thank you. (Now wondering how I haven't seen that site...) Quote
Sariel Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Don't forget that the brakes in real Hummer sit right next to the diff, not in the wheel hubs :) Quote
Black-Build Posted September 3, 2014 Author Posted September 3, 2014 (edited) yes, I know that, and I think that its also easier to make the brakes next to the diff than on the portal hubs. Edited September 3, 2014 by Black-Build Quote
