Tomsche Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Every AFOL goes about differently in how they start building a MoC. Sometimes you get inspiration from a picture, from a visit to a museum, something you see outside, a range of Lego or related toys... ... or in my case, I often get it from a particular minifigure that I like and for some reason want to do something with. Same was with the Lincoln minifigure for which I specially build the Gettysburg Adress MoC a few months ago. The same happened with this particular minifig from the Collectible Minifigures line. An Inuit fisherman, suitable in his traditional clothing for setting like Historica, but which I couldn`t find an exact build or idea for to incorporate him with. So I went to build a small MoC scene especially for him, a small scene of some landscape in Mitgardia where he had punched a hole in the ground and went fishing. This I can incorporate in the Landscapes of Mitgardia series, wherein members of the coolest (pun intended) guild contribute to let others see their homeland. Under the watching gaze of the local wild animals ;-) Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Nice little build! Cool to see LoM making a resurgence as well! Quote
IenjoyLego89 Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Nice scene :) completely forgot that we had the LoM haha! Quote
Zerobricks Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Thats cute! I really like the penguin, he looks like begging for fishes. Quote
kabel Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Very nice littel vig Tomsche. It's great to see that you too are progressing in your moccing skills! And of course I like that someone is participating in the MCB again. Quote
Tomsche Posted September 3, 2014 Author Posted September 3, 2014 Ah okay, it`s called MCB II I see, I just had it dubbed LoM due to having no ideas Thanks all for the comments! Quote
Maxim I Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Very cool pinguin :D I will make a similar build to this once I got bricking time again :) Quote
mccoyed Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 MCB? LoM? What is this sorcery? This is a great build, Tomsche. One of my favorites of yours by far. You captured the iced over water effect wonderfully and who wouldn't love that penguin! Quote
Tomsche Posted September 3, 2014 Author Posted September 3, 2014 Landscapes of Mitgardia... it`s in the first topic of the Mitgardian sign up post Basically, MoC`s of how the lands would / might / should look like Quote
Aland1916 Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Very nice build! I think I'll have to build a thing or two for MCB ... Quote
Gunman Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Nice build Tomsche! Glad you brought lands of Mitgardia back to life. Quote
mccoyed Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 No doubt. Now that I know we can still do that, expect me to get in on the action as well! Quote
Zerobricks Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 I'm a noob in this part of the forum so can someone enlighten me what does MCB and LoM stand for? Quote
kabel Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 MCB - Mitgardian Community build is the same like LoM - landscapes of Mitgardia @MC - go ahead, I sure would like to see more action in that community build again! Quote
Zerobricks Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Kabel can you be my offical translator in these odd lands OP where did you find an orange 1x1 plate with a clip? Quote
Tomsche Posted September 3, 2014 Author Posted September 3, 2014 The new Artic sets 60032, the scooter with the ice crystal Nice build Tomsche! Glad you brought lands of Mitgardia back to life. Don`t credit me to much, I just wanted to do `something` with that particular minifig, but it doesn`t really fitted into my short term plans, so I knocked this together yesterday morning in an hour or so while I was waiting for the store to open to get the new desktop pc... It was just a `freebuild` that then happened to actually fit into LoM, but it wasn`t intentional when I started tinkering yesterday Quote
Scaevola Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Good job, really great snow-scape on this. I would just use square plates for the water though, as studs are suggestive of rushing as opposed to stagnant water. Quote
Thomas of Tortuga Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Nice little build! Cool to see LoM making a resurgence as well! *Facepalm* I run a medieval RPG on MOCpages called Lands of Mythron Nice scene, Tomsche, especially the penguin! Quote
mccoyed Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 What... there's a third collective Castle Lego RPG. Next someone's going to tell me that's what Chrono is! Quote
Tomsche Posted September 4, 2014 Author Posted September 4, 2014 Thanks for the comments @ Scaevola: I mostly use studs as I have a bucketload of the dark blue, light blue and clear ones from the PAB wall, got to do something with them hehe @ Thomas: hmmm hmmmm, I`ll have a peekaboo there, I`m on MOCPages as well (as Flickr is to complicated for a relic like me, what devilry is this required yahoo mail thing) Quote
MassEditor Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Nice little scene Tomsche! Good snow landscaping, and the penguin is spot-on! Quote
soccerkid6 Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Cute little vignette, the penguin is my favorite part Looks like that the fishing is good there Quote
