Donnie Bricko Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Aboard a recently seized Imperial Nebulon-B2 frigate docked at a secret Alliance location, Rebel intelligence specialist operatives work to retrieve information from the ship's mainframe. Captain Denk called me on to the ship to discuss my next mission. DonnieBricko this is Blax Ritton. He's a former Imperial pilot that has defected to the Alliance. Looks like a scumbag that can't be trusted. Nice to meet you, too! I may be a scumbag but I have no loyalty to the Empire. Now that we've dispensed with the pleasantries let's get to business. Blax appropriated this Nebulon frigate from the Imperial forces. This ship could be a tide turner in this conflict. We believe the mainframe contains nav coordinates and entry codes to some unknown Imperial installations. What does that have to do with my mission? You and Blax are going to depart for Fondor in search of the bounty hunter Boba Fett. We believe that he is in possession of Captain Solo. There is a transport ready...go get Cpt. Solo back. Alternate views Please judge this freebuild...thanks -D Quote
Aland1916 Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 So it's a prequel to your builds in Ep. VI? Great story! And again fantastic SNOT and overall another great build. Quote
LegoFjotten Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Very nice work! Where are the stickered tiles on the top from? Quote
Donnie Bricko Posted September 3, 2014 Author Posted September 3, 2014 So it's a prequel to your builds in Ep. VI? Great story! And again fantastic SNOT and overall another great build. Yep Thanks Very nice work! Where are the stickered tiles on the top from? Thanks...The stikers are from the Sith Fury-class Interceptor set 9500-1 Quote
Zerobricks Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Good scene! Only thing I would do is reinforce the pipes a bit better so they dont sag. Where did you get those black stickers on the very top layer? Quote
MKJoshA Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Nicely done! I like the pit the intelligence people are sitting/working in. Quote
Robianco Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Nicely done! I like the pit the intelligence people are sitting/working in. I agree... I didn't notice it at first but that snot work with the curved piece works so well... everything about that working area is really nicely done! Quote
TWP Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 I think you've done a great work on this freebuild! What I really like: - You've snotted it all the way down. In the snot work, you integrated those grill bricks which make a really interesting pattern, also, the red lights on the side of the lower part look great and realistic, and using the cheese to step up to the next level looks like a great smoother transition. - What also makes this MOC stand out, is the in my opinion great use of stickers and printed part on most places. - That ceiling also adds a lot. It makes it feel more in ship like, which is of course good, and those megaphones and flex tubes look great on there! - There is more to like, but I think the above ones stood out mainly. What I think would make your next MOC even better: - What bugs me just a bit, very minor detail, in some MOCs, is the way tiles are used. E.g. on the front most you used 1-1x8, 2-2x2, 1-2x4 on the left, while on the right you used 3-1x8. This looks a bit strange to me, as the edges are quite prominent, and changing it to a uniform range of tiles would only cost a little bit of extra time. - You used wedge bricks, which is a great idea, but you separated them 1 brick backward each time, which made it look like you wanted it to be smooth, but it wouldn't work so you did this. My suggestion is either to keep the ridged effect going, or align them all, which in my opinion both look more like you wanted it to look like that and you deliberately choose those pieces. - I see some symmetric inconsistensies on places. Sometimes insymmetric things can look very good (like the top most black stickered tiles), but sometimes they look a bit like it was a mistake or sloppy. E.g. take that walkway with the astromech - on one side after the red lights immediately the cheese slopes begin, while at the other side there is a half plate spacing between them. I think it would look better to make these spacings equal and make the colours of the cheese match. I decided to make a longer post then I normally do, because I see some points here that are really good on which I'd like to compliment the builder on, and some points I think the builder will benefit from if token attention on his next MOC. Please do not take the tips as hard critism or anything like that. Also I made a long post, because Beaver didn't comment on this one yet Quote
markus1984 Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Good job The story is great and the MOC looks so harmoniously because i like the colour schema. markus Quote
