Lord Vladivus Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Nice build, I do like the dome! Nice use of the fortune teller fig too! Quote
Gunman Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Great texturing there man... Those stud plates make the ground cool looking... Nice! Quote
soccerkid6 Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 I think this turned out really well! The trans red and blue look great as do the rounded wall and roof Excellent texturing on the base as well, I usually avoid leaving hollow studs exposed, but the jumper plates on the ground give a nice effect here Quote
Gideon Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Nice rock and how the structure blends into the natural formation! Unlike Kabel I think that the background looks great UoP +1 for the roof, but I have to agree I'd like to see some more to approve the round wall credit. Quote
LordDan Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Nice build! This is a great fortune tellers booth, I love the way it's so kaphalin, not just a stereotypical wooden booth with curtains :) Quote
SarahJoy Posted September 7, 2014 Author Posted September 7, 2014 This is a really nice build, I wouldn't have thought of doing a dome like that. I'm not really sure why you wouldn't feel statified with this build. I guess it's doing everything in tan that's kinda boring to the eye, but hey you've choose Kaliphlin after all The only thing I'd critisize is the use of that grey cloth as background. Well, I like the warm sandy landscape! It's the back of the build I dislike -- I just didn't get the rock formations I wanted. I'll figure it out in the next build. I'm sorry I seemed so down on this one -- I do like the booth, and Kali's suggestions I think really improved my landscape texturing. I may end up eliminating the gray cloth, but in the meantime, I'm focusing on getting my lighting and camera setup correct, first. Nice build, I do like the dome! Nice use of the fortune teller fig too! Love it, really neat build. Thanks! Great texturing there man... Those stud plates make the ground cool looking... Nice! I think this turned out really well! Time to look at new ways to use round walls. Thank you for your compliments and the roof credit! Nice build! kabel Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 @sarah: maybe you should consider doing snot rocks as I've done here: or Master Z here: Quote
SarahJoy Posted September 18, 2014 Author Posted September 18, 2014 @sarah: maybe you should consider doing snot rocks as I've done here: or Master Z here: Snot rocks are definitely on my to-do list. I want to get studs-up rocks mastered first, though; until I can manipulate the studs-up rocks to work the way I envision them, I don't feel ready for snot rocks. I like how you made the roof. Thank you! Quote
kabel Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 I don't feel ready for snot rocks. the interesting thing is though, that snot rocks aren't really that much more difficult and really do an excellent job in representing sedimentary rocks that often enough come in vertical layers: sandstone: limestone: clay: to name just a few ... mccoyed Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Ooo, that's a really nice set of images to show off how best to use SNOT rocks, Kabel! Quote
