Sylvian Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Hello fellow builders, been wandering on this forum for quite some time now but never took the step to join. Untill now :) First off, I am really amazed by what everybody comes up with and Eurobricks has been a great source for inspiration. Personally i really love making vehicles but often have the bad habbit of not finishing stuff,. still i want to show some stuff i made so maybe someone can use an idea or get inspired and do stuff way better :) Rat Rod thing; 6x6 US truck with PF & 2speed gearbox 6x6 Daf-ish truck with PF & 2spd gearbox Mad-Max ish car, with PF and again a 2spd gearbox What I am working on currently; And a little Mcpherson idea for small vehicles; after some fiddling it could be 2 bricks more narrow; So, thats some stuff :) in the 'future' just wanna post my idea's (unfinished) or finished stuff here. Thanks for reading :) Quote
piterx Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 nice stuff man! i expecially like the micro macpherson :) welcome to eurobricks! Quote
Black-Build Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Nice stuff indeed, I still remember some pictures of your DAF from lowlug. Quote
jantjeuh Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Welcome! Love the design of that US truck, reminds me of Ingmar Spijkhoven's work. Quote
Zerobricks Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 You build some really great trucks! Try to take better pictures to make your MOCs crispier. Quote
timslegos Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Those are some great looking trucks! I would love to see some more pictures and a video of them driving. tim Quote
Lakop Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Welcome, Some great builds there. I love your trucks and the mad max style car. Get them on brickshelf if not already. H Quote
grum64 Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 (edited) It's good to have you with us Sylvian. I just know you're going to enjoy your time here Edited September 6, 2014 by grum64 Quote
legomuppet9 Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 It looks very good I may have to use your McPherson suspension in an MOC one day, it's great! Quote
Technyk32231 Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Those are some very neat things you have there...Keep it up! Quote
Sylvian Posted October 23, 2014 Author Posted October 23, 2014 (edited) First off all my apolygies for replying so late. Thanks everybody! Hope to be somewhat more involved but ehhh... life. Anyways, i finally had some time again to play. I didnt finish the red us cabover and i guess it has to wait. A few months ago i did first attempt at a unimog style chassis,. But i wasnt really happy. This week i wanted to take another go at it, Like many things i start i dont know if it will get finished. Did drove it today though and 1 single l motor seems to be working pretty well.. i dont know how it will hold up with a complety body. But i am pleased with how it looks and peforms so far. Once again thanks everybody, i love ingmars work so thanks for that. And sorry for the photo quality, maybe when my mocs get better and finished i'll try a bit harder on that. Cheers! *plus some chassis and axle stuff,. Edited October 24, 2014 by Sylvian Quote
Kelkschiz Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Welcome to EB! some inspirational stuff you have there. Quote
VKTechnic Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Welcome to Eurobricks! Love the micro McPherson, those are always a challenge in LEGO, let alone that small. I'd love to see some pictures of your 2 speed gearbox if you have any Quote
Sylvian Posted October 24, 2014 Author Posted October 24, 2014 Thanks, my 2spd gearbox is very simple and purists will hate it.. i ´modified´ a dif for that. So nothing fancy, personally i dont understand lego hasnt made a clutch gear like this yet. Quote
legomuppet9 Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 (edited) The pictures don't do this stuff justice, It's really neatly built! Edited October 24, 2014 by legomuppet9 Quote
zux Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 There's quite a lot of interesting engineering here! Quote
Sylvian Posted October 25, 2014 Author Posted October 25, 2014 @ Legomuppet & Zux, Thanks for the interest :) unimog-ish,. not completely satisfied so far. Quote
Kelkschiz Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 How about some videos? It's one thing to see some intriguing mechanisms, it's quite another to see them in action. Quote
Sylvian Posted October 25, 2014 Author Posted October 25, 2014 i'll make a vid off the mog chassis :) Quote
Sylvian Posted September 8, 2015 Author Posted September 8, 2015 (edited) After not doing all that much with lego for a while i decided i'd wanted to make yet another chassis but this time around i really wanted to do something with planetary hubs... So far i think i have succeeded.. I dont know yet what the body will become, but i was thinking either rockcrawler or trialtruck,.. perhaps a hybrid? anyhow i dont want to make it that heavy as i like the single L motor configuration. The the little yellow ringthingies and tires are just place holders. *even though its kinda late and not the unimog chassis,.. its something moving :).. allready took it apart though* Heres the thing with lights btw,. And the predecessor to my current awd chassis. Anyhow,. Hopefully this time around stuff will get finished :P Edited September 8, 2015 by Sylvian Quote
Imanol BB Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Hi, i must say that those trucks you have designed are very nice, the suspension system, the compact drivetrain, the planetary rims, the steering systems, are amazing, i just watched the kodiak truck, and i saw the suspension system, and it seems to be very strong and useful for other models; also, this topic gave me inspiration for some models, thank you. Quote
Sylvian Posted September 13, 2015 Author Posted September 13, 2015 (edited) Thanks for your kind words :D The rear suspension of the kodiak is something i considered a succes, the front axle though wasnt all that great when it comes to slipping gears. Anyhow,.. i couldnt resist 6x6ing it... Right now the single L motor is sufficient for the chassis, but offcourse it wont be enough when there's a cab,.. which sucks cuz i like how it looks :'( Edited September 13, 2015 by Sylvian Quote
Pego Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Didn't see this before, but I love the engineering you have got here, especially the unimog and this 6x6, you must finish them Quote
PKW Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 I'm in love with all these stuffs and original ideas, only I don't like the use of perpendicular gear with your 2L motor setup, you'll lose lots of torque, also the steering rod made with the axle not strongly fixed to the two hubs (like this 6x6) but also with this particular mechanism yours seems to be really good MOC with a good engineering for the speed/power they're supposed to work, and it is clear that (like in the crawler) you know also how to make high performances veichle so congratulations! and thanks to sharing your work Quote
