Meatman Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Something fishy is going on with red #3's. The front bumper of 42029 mysteriously uses light gray #3 connectors instead of red even though the rest of the bumper is red. I'm sure they need to have a certain amount of need before producing more, and maybe they have a huge stock of other colors to use. Possibly why they also used LBG toggle connectors in the 8081 instead of producing black ones. Quote
jantjeuh Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Yep, I think TLG has a policy of exhausting current stocks first before producing a new batch in a new colour. Makes economic sense, I guess. Oh, and by the way, at least the current shortage means we get to see supercars etc. in other colours than boring red Quote
Paul Boratko Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 (edited) Maybe they will have some red #3 connectors or some other rare/discontinued parts in a non Technic set next year.. Sometimes we see oddball one-off colored Technic parts find their way into the mix... Possibly why they also used LBG toggle connectors in the 8081 instead of producing black ones. I was very vocal about my displeasure with the Light Blue Gray smooth toggle joints in that set... Edited September 12, 2014 by Paul Boratko Quote
