DJSaulTNutz Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 I am curious to know two things about these sets: What IS the reality of the stormie drop ship, and what pilot will the AT-PT have? Otherwise, lego knows how to make my day! Trooper, Basically you get 4 stormies, some blue, bley and black pieces with the Empire logo, and a little cockpit with windshield (tinted) ....the stormies ride on the sides of it...kinda like a mini helicopter dropship thingie.... Its just an excuse to sell minifigures.......which works for me!!! DJ Quote
Starwars4J Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Yeah, the New Jedi Order was pretty violent, but surely no more so than- blowing up a whole planet - quite graphically removing limbs - torturing Han on Bespin - Throttling Jabba etc But yes, - Anakin Solo was killed - Jacen Solo was tortured - More planets are destroyed I don't LEGO will make any Yuuzhan Vong simply because its too far removed from the films. All the EU stuff that's been done so far is still movie-era. How could you forget poor Chewie? *sing* Also, I think that torture is one thing, but masochism, and a religion based around masochism is another... Quote
captaintau Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 How could you forget poor Chewie? *sing* His death wasn't that violent, just shocking. I think they have to kill someone every novel-generation. I mean Han is like seventy now. He can't live forever. Luke is near sixty. Quote
Corvus Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 What do you mean his death wasn't violent? If it wasn't, it sure was explodifying! Quote

They mentioned that 60-70 is only middle age because the life spam has increased so much :-P However, you're right about the every generation thing since Mara just got off'd :-/ Quote
captaintau Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 They mentioned that 60-70 is only middle age because the life spam has increased so much :-P I wasn't aware of that. Its all relative, I suppose. A 70 year old Wookiee is still pretty much a cub. However, you're right about the every generation thing since Mara just got off'd :-/ With the deaths of Chewie and Anakin, I was really hoping they'd off Han Solo at the end of the New Jedi Order. It certainly looked like they were going to. I just found him to an anachronism in the New Jedi Order. Still he has his storyline uses in the Legacy of the Force. When Aaron Allston killed off Chewie (not his decision, BTW) I believe he had tons of hate mail. I suppose that makes any author reluctant to kill off any canon character. Quote
sam89 Posted June 21, 2007 Author Posted June 21, 2007 Enough of this off-topic-ness, here's some more news (thanks to DJSaulTNutz of course!). The two new battlepacks other than the Stormie battlepack will be: Hoth Battlepack - Contents unknown, but NO Taun Taun Droid Battlepack - 4 battle droids, 2 super battle droids, a dwarf spider droid and a hailfire droid! The names aren't accurate/confirmed, I just made them up based on the contents ;-) Quote
Plural Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 :-( No tauntauns :'-( Wonder why they did another droid pack. When are we gonna get a rebel pack. Quote
sam89 Posted June 21, 2007 Author Posted June 21, 2007 Well there's a minifig scale hailfire droid, which should be cool X-D Quote
The Kid Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Bah, not bothered about another droid one so soon, but Hoth sounds promising. Am I really the only one here who doesn't want Taun-Tauns?? *wacko* They'd probably be crappy one-piece molds which I'd... dispose of (in a trade, of course :-P). TK Quote
Khorne Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Hoth Battlepack - Contents unknown, but NO Taun TaunDroid Battlepack - 4 battle droids, 2 super battle droids, a dwarf spider droid and a hailfire droid! Why can't they make a Stormie pack without some crappy TIE-knockoff |-/ . Quote
captaintau Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Yes I'm just thinking MF-scale Hailfire. That could be interesting. Battle Packs were certainly a good seller so it makes sense to keep making 'em Quote
Vader Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Well a hoth set will be welcome, i sure hope its full of snowies *wub* As for the droid pack well weve just had one , so thats not the set i was hping for. Oh well its better than nothing i guess. Thanks for the info again sam. :-) Quote
The Kid Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Yeah, here's hoping the Hoth BP includes: - 2 Rebels - 2 Snowies - Gun Turret - Speeder or mini snow wall (to duck behind) That would make my Jan08 Lineup. ;-) TK Quote
sam89 Posted June 21, 2007 Author Posted June 21, 2007 If you don't know the contents of the Hoth battlepack, then how do you know it will have anything to do with Hoth ;-) :-P ? Well I was told it was a Hoth Battlepack. But that might not necessarily be its name. Another Droid pack? Why can't they make a Stormie pack without some crappy TIE-knockoff |-/ . Well we are getting a stormie battlepack. It just comes with some small made-up "dropship". Quote
Khorne Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Well we are getting a stormie battlepack. It just comes with some small made-up "dropship". I know, I referred to the "dropship" as TIE-knockoff ;-) . The "dropship" is the pic posted a few pages back, right? To me, it looks too big to be in a battle pack set |-/ . Quote
Sir von Lego Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Thanks for the description. Sounds interesting! Hi, but I thought the Stormie Battle Pack will "only" include 2 Stormies and 1 Pilot? 4 sounds much much better to me!! Hendrik Quote

Sir von Lego Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Hey Vader, perhaps they do a new Droid pack because the actual one doesn't include the new arms and weapons. But I think that all these battle packs will be more expensive, because they seem to contain more pieces and figs.. Hendrik Quote

sam89 Posted June 21, 2007 Author Posted June 21, 2007 As WookieWarrior9 pointed out on FBTB, the battle droids will most likely be sand red, since it's a Geonosis battlepack. Quote

I was thinking about the thing Asuka posted a few pages back, that's why I thought this set would be too big to be an army builder ;-) . I stand corrected :-$ . Quote
Andrex Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 A HAILFIRE DROID?! That thing is massive, I HAVE one.. Wow, these packs are more like sets than packs. Maybe it'll be more minifig scaled then. Hoth? No Taun Tauns is a shame :( but still, maybe at this rate there'll be an AT-AT or something O_O. Quote
