- 200 DKK is the amount per registered member - if 50 members submit their data then the LUG can order for 10.000 DKK max, but if only 20 out of the 50 order they can still order up to 10.000 DKK.
- The focus right now is to help people who are doing shows get bricks to build more and thus help them build new stuff for their shows.
- A 2x4 brick in white is 0,45 DKK without VAT.

Eurobricks Pirates forum.Eurobricks Reviewers Academy discussion

Dear Eurobricks Community,
It has been a year since the Eurobricks Reviewers Academy was established, and today we are here to celebrate our first anniversary.
The Reviewers Academy started off with 11 teachers, each using their unique expertise to help new recruits develop and improve their reviewing skills in the key areas of photography, structure and textual discussion. Those students who have completed the program by producing 9 reviews of distinction themselves have joined the ranks of the teachers; in all, 13 additional graduates have become teachers, swelling the total rank of teachers to an impressive 24.
These teachers help to guide students who want to learn the many aspects of making a LEGO set review excel, in turn greatly benefiting the LEGO community as a whole by providing detailed insights into sets in a concerted effort that is without precedent in the AFOL community. To date, more than 200 members are part of The Reviewers Academy whom have contributed a vast amount of their time in producing more than 350 LEGO set reviews, an average of 1 new LEGO set review appearing in Eurobricks each day, sharing their insights and the love of their hobby.
Therefore, on behalf of The Reviewers Academy, we would like to show our appreciation and thanks to these groups of people, and encourage them to continue keeping their reviewing spirit alive.
Below is a selection of some the best reviews done by the many outstanding reviewers The Reviewers Academy has on staff and has trained. Come inside, and have your thoughts and questions shared with us, and the teachers will be glad to be there to assist you. You could even drop a congratulations note to let us know how you feel. Don't be shy, come on down.
Thanks to all for a fantastic year of reviews!
Sincerely,
The Reviewers Academy Teachers

LUGBULK - New concept for the AFOL community

From Jan Beyer:
LEGO User Group Bulk Order Program
The “LEGO User Group Bulk Order Program” (LUGBULK) will be offered to LEGO User Groups as a pilot/test program from August 2009 and possibly going into 2010. Due to new legislation in the USA, we will unfortunately not be able to offer the program to USA based LEGO User Groups until we implement some additional processes. We expect to open up the program to US LEGO User Groups at a later date.
This document explains to you how to get access to and use the program to order smaller amounts of LEGO bricks from the whole LEGO assortment directly at the LEGO Group.
Please notice again that this is a pilot project and it may be terminated on short notice at any time.
Sounds interesting ? Read more and discuss here!
Update from Jan B:
Update 16/8 from Tormod on why this is not upon for the US:
Explanation from our Quality Department:
We are awaiting clarification on the testing and certification demands for elements that are not sold as part of a finished good. The complexity of the US Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) has left many unanswered questions and until we are certain that we can meet the requirements of the law, we must withhold sales of loose elements, outside of the PAB assortment, in the US market. Be assured that the elements themselves are fully compliant and safe; we simply need to have clarity as to what process we must use to ensure the elements meet the test and certification demands.
Sang Royale - 64 Guns

I doesn't happen often, but sometimes a LEGO ship is made that looks like a real scale model. To achieve this, several techniques can be used to give the ship the right shape (not an easy thing to do with LEGO), real rope rigging has to be added and the sails should be made out of canvas with an authentic look. The 64-gun Sang Royal of our member Admiral Bejaune has it all.
Visit the discussion thread for more pictures of this beauty.
Two Great New Additions to the Staff

New Staff Members
EuroBricks continues to experience impressive growth in members, visitors and posting. As a result, two of our most active forums have grown to need additional staff presence to keep them operating at the level that the community has grown to expect.
Therefore, I am pleased to announce the addition of a pair of new regulators to help in that capacity.
First, helping to man the decks of our favourite pirate forum, we have Erdbeereis, our new . Please take a moment to stop by his congratulations thread and post a little comment.
Next, joining the ranks in the exciting Star Wars forum, we have Stash2Sixx, our new . Why don't you drop in on his congratulations thread and send him some good wishes as well?
Congratulations to Erdbeereis and Stash2Sixx for earning and accepting this awesome responsibility and helping to keep the EuroBricks community happy and thriving.
Welcome to the staff, guys!
