This is my third freebuild of the month. If you're not one of the Sea Rats and you like the build please thumbup.gif (And don't forget to state your allegiance).

Breaking Out

Complications

Next... A Planning Session

Finally back aboard the Bleak Angel, Captain Dracken calls his first mate, Alastair Jakes, and helmswoman Liliana Vespwood to his cabin to discuss the next move.

And, of course, where Liliana goes, Althea goes too.

Inside, Althea picks up a small native idol and sits on the Captain's bed while the others gather around a table full of charts.

“It's all very impressive,” Jakes says, “but where is it leading?”

“Have you heard of Oedon Black?” Dracken asks.

“Can't say I have, Cap'n.”

“Well,” Dracken begins, “some time ago Oedon Black was a rather well known trader in certain circles...”

“And,” Liliana interrupts, “by trader you mean smuggler.”

“Only some of the time,” Dracken explains, “but yes, Mister Black did quite a bit of smuggling. Made a fair amount on trading outlawed texts, tomes and artefacts in Oleon.”

“Sounds like Mister Drave,” Liliana states, “but since you're using the past tense am I correct to presume Black is no longer with us?”

“Correct,” Dracken says flatly, “the authorities caught up with him and, for his crimes, executed him. Sky burial, or so I heard. Wouldn't even let his soul rest in Hades. However, Oedon Black knew better than to store his wares somewhere the Faith could find them.”

A voice rose from behind the trio. “You mean the Heretic's Hoard, don't you?” Althea asked.

“I do indeed,” Dracken responds, “I already had the key before our misadventure on LeBellan. Now I have the last map we need to find it.”

“Let's get to work, then.” Jakes says.

I really like it! The images work fine for me.

I'm a fan of interiors, and the fact this is the interior of a ship makes things only better!

That's odd because they're working on all my devices and browsers.

I guess it's just me then, thought they don't work on IE for me either. Too bad! pirate_cry4.gif

Thank you. I actually partially disassembled the cabin from a wip ship for this scene.

Ah ha! The Heretic's hoard is buried under a light house, I can see it on the map!

Nice little scene and I like the story.

Thank you (and that gives me an idea for the next part of the story, bricks permitting).

I like these ship interiors we're getting, and the storytelling is quite enjoyable. Good minifigs and posing. You have my  from Eslandola!

Thank you. I was worried the storytelling would be the weak part, I'm a little rusty.

Approval from Corrington

Thank you.

I often struggle with photographing black, but you managed to solve that nicely with the accents (especially the orange heads). I like the atmosphere and look forward to the continuation of the story. from Eslandola.

Thanks. Using the LDD revealed how easy it is for a mono-colour build to lose detail, especially with darker colours. I was already using browns and gold for some of the furniture so I added a bit more to help break things up. I find the Nexo Knights globlins strangely adorable so have been determined to feature them somewhere; they make pretty good depictions of "native volcano spirits".

Nice cabin interior. The colors look great and you have a good cast of characters and parts: the recent queen hairpiece and those goblin thingies are two of the better features in my opinion. The sword and knife holder is pretty good too. Good work.

Approved from Corrington.
