I see a lot of members managed to get their hands on some battle packs, and while no one has posted a review yet I'd like to ask on behalf of all of us eager people awaiting their arrival that anyone on here who has already bought them please answer a few questions:

First and foremost quality; is it cheaper plastic with flaws, incorrect textures, flaws/marks on the arms and loose/poorly fitting parts, or is it up to the standard of the Castle battle packs?

Secondly, how much did you pay for them and where did you get them?

Last, but not least; if anyone is kind enough to post a picture or two of these guys, and maybe do one with a fig from a standard set next to a battle pack fig for comparison, that would make a lot of people, myself included, very, very happy.

One person has said they do have the arm indent and the legs are not as transparent as they used to be. From CC:

Yes, I did buy one of each Battlepack. They have the indentation/part number/mold number on the inside of the arm. The plastic is slightly different from the plastic in the 'Regular' set line, I notice it most on the legs. The legs feel the same but just do not look quite as opaque as the non China produced sets. That being said it is *MUCH* better than the early Collector set used, some of it may be due to the color in question (gray verus red) but some of it may be better mix of plastic. Shrugs, I've decided they *DO* have acceptable quality to join my ranks and expect to purchase more of the battle packs. The printing on the checkerboard pattern on the Battlepack fig's shows white, opposed to the pinkish 'fig from the Prison Carriage Escape set... Although how pink it appears depends some on the light hitting it.

i couldn't wait and just ordered the dragon's battle pack along with the green magician and the jester at spielwaren-kontor24. Can't afford more right now, and the shipping costs are pretty high too. As soon as i have the sets i'll be doing reviews of them.

can't wait. I'm really considering getting the Dragon's BP. The lion knights seem a little cliche

I'll be looking forward to your review. Im a little concerned about the quality since I'm kinda dissapointed with the quality of the minifig collecion series 1.

I spoke the the manager at my local Lego store and he said that all of the minifigures in battle packs, magnet sets, and otherwise are manufactured in denmark just like the minifigures in the regular sets. The coloring is sometimes different but, the minifigure is the same quality. He also told me that Lego only uses china to build specialty parts like the magnets and electronics in some sets and so on. :classic:

Oh that is fantastic news!! :classic:

And boba jagoda, thatnk you for the pictures!!!!

The figs look just as good as the ones in the big sets, (although it is a shame about the light silver weapons ) Oh well, that's the least of my worries for these; I'm happy quality looks up to par!

Time to start army building haha

So the battle packs are produced in Europe or China? Can anyone who has the battle packs confirm this by checking the packaging?

I read in another thread i believe, that TLG stated that no sets at alla re produced in china, only special seperate parts.

I don't like that the weapons are silver either. But what I most dislike is the dreaded return of the old-school grill helmets!!! I have so many of these and I don't know what to do with them. I never equip them on my figs; they simply look ugly :/

My Dragon pack was not cheap Chinese but ditto on the silver weapons, WHY WHY did you give us silver pearl with the Dragons?

The Black tower and the Knight's showdown have some spare dark pearl weapons (in total three, if I count them well), so I'll probably use these weapons on the battle pack dragons. It's also a shame that the crossbow is brown, though I do find the brown crossbow more realistic.

How many do you have? I'll buy them from you... especially in the older color gray.

Hello, I'm debating whether or not to buy the Kingdoms Battle Packs. I've heard a few issues with them-item holding, and "flat" non-glossy printing. I'm one who likes my armies consistent, (weapon color too) so I don't want to spend $15 USD for 5 minifigures that stick out like sore thumbs (maybe that's why they can't hold weapons  ). So, for those of you who have them, what are you're overall thoughts? Is the bad printing that noticeable, or has that issue gone away?

Sorry if there's already a topic for this, if so, please close this one. Thanks!

I think that the battle packs are overpriced. You can do better elsewhere if you're looking for the new figs. I would suggest getting multiple copies of the Prisoner Wagon and the Knight's Showdown instead. For $17.98 (three dollars extra) you get the same number of minifigs and a horse. Moreover, you get more accessories and extra bricks. Sure you may be able to get an extra few figs through the battle packs but the difference isn't worth the drop in quality. You still might want to consider a couple of Dragon BPs though as the Dragon Knight is only available in the King's Castle right now, but there really isn't a reason to grab the Lion battle packs.

Thanks, but the reason I'm interested in the BP's is because they don't come with 2 armored knights (like the Prison Carriage and Knights' Showdown do) and yes, please go ahead and merge them.

I just bought the dragon's battle pack and am disappointed about the quality:

* the printing on the shields is bad on all three shields (the colours overlap - creating a somewhat orangy line);

* the hands don't have grip,

* some legs are loose and

* the helmets fall off easily as well.

The printing is good, but that's about it. Very disappointing.

Best, K.

Why are the Dragons smiling as well?

In the sets, they're made up as the "evil-doers" and have the corresponding minifig heads.

Here they're the merry bunch with silver weapons - bad move BAD MOVE TLG
