tedbeard Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 A recent entry for the CCCIV included a viking longship with sails furled and I thought it was a neat technique. Check out this pic. Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted December 21, 2006 Eurobricks Emperor Posted December 21, 2006 This was also posted in the LEGO History & Adventure forum in this thread. This brick build sail looks rather good, but I prefer paper (or something similar). Quote
Berry Syedow Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 I like the design quit a bit! I honestly didn't realize they were brick-built when my attention was focused on the scenery. The SNOTed ship looks very good too. This was also posted in the LEGO History & Adventure forum in this thread. This brick build sail looks rather good, but I prefer paper (or something similar). Mr. Bonaparte, what is your opinion of this creation? Coincidently it was also entered in the "CCC". Quote

Wow, THAT I haven't seen before! Verrrrry nice ship. The crew looks so good. I haven't seen much Lego galleys yet, these guys look like Japanese pirates. And the sails.... maybe I need to change my opinion about brick-build sails. In this case it will be hard to make betters sails with paper. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted December 22, 2006 Governor Posted December 22, 2006 This was also posted in the LEGO History & Adventure forum in this thread. Good observation Bonaparte! Wow, THAT I haven't seen before!I haven't seen much Lego galleys yet, these guys look like Japanese pirates. Aren't they Vikings? Quote
oo7 Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 Aren't they Vikings? He's refering to the BS folder Syedow posted. I think these threads could be merged. No? Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted December 22, 2006 Eurobricks Emperor Posted December 22, 2006 Aren't they Vikings? Like oo7 already mentioned, I was referring to the link that Berry posted here. Maybe this one deserves a separate thread since they look like Japanse pirates to me. Or maybe not, because this thread is about Brick-built sails... Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted December 22, 2006 Governor Posted December 22, 2006 I think these threads could be merged. No? They could be... But the other thread is in a different forum and I want to keep a piratical version of this topic . So what we need to make that happen is to find examples of "brick-built sails" used in Pirate ship MOCs. So does anybody have or know of any? Quote
