Tomsche Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 Catarina didn`t like this a bit. A job as a manager she had been promised. Lots of traffic and food to be stored to help the people of Mitgardia during the harshest of winters. It all sounded so noble and so good, but reality was a cruel lover. She found herself managing a small cabin, barely big enough to store all the food for a small hamlet, let alone a village. The winds raged through the cabin by the poles used as a back wall, it was small, moist and dark, at least the smoked fish would feel at home in there... "More then I" she thought as she poured herself another cup of wine. Hey all. This is my first entry (and de facto, first `real` MoC) that I made for the AoM project, as I just signed up to Midgardia for this very series of projects. It is the simple cabin for Phase 1 of Agriculture - Storehouse as, well, no-one seemed to want to go in that direction at the moment, and that it is build from salvaged parts of my X and Y wings which I finally broke down. I hope it is liked a little, as I`m still planning and searching for inspiration for the phase 2 and 3 but we`ll get there hehe. Cheerios! Quote
Captain Settle Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 Lovely first MOC! I like the poles for the back wall, and the way the snow seems to be falling off the roof. Quote
soccerkid6 Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 That hut does look like it would be pretty chilly! Cool snow effects Has her shipment of goods not arrived yet? Quote
Tomsche Posted November 24, 2013 Author Posted November 24, 2013 That's comming in someday with the market cart ;-) Quote
Gideon Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 (edited) Nice little build! AoM Storehouse phase I / Tomsche / Mitgardia - in the hopes of getting a certification for roofing +1 for one of the three roofing technique credits, I like the sliding snow effect Edited November 26, 2013 by Gideon Quote
Gabe Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Brrr! Only two sides and a roof constitutes a cabin in Mitgardia?? Certainly you guys and gals do it tough up north! I like the snow effects that you have used in this small moc, especially the sliding snow on the roof. However, i'd like to see a more complete roof before giving you a UP plus for the roofing technique - it bugs me that the ends are open the way that they are. A simple way that you can get around this is to add solid wall ends to extend above the roofline at either end. Quote
Tomsche Posted November 27, 2013 Author Posted November 27, 2013 Thanks for the input, I`m defintily going to do that, but it`ll probably be then in phase 2, I`m about to build in this cabin into the next step Quote
