Doesn't the simple rule of an X-mas Landspeeder suffice? Whatever display you put it in, is entirely up to you.

It's all described in the first post. Make the MOC, post it (here in 'Watto's Junkyard' and add the required subtitle to the topic. @Oky - yes all those are fine examples of landspeeders. I've deeplinked the pic.

Adding stuff and removing stuff is modifying which is allowed. To which extend? Not soo much that the set changes into another set or becomes unrecognizable (?). The voters will judge wether or not you overdid the modding. Go ahead and add some colourfull reindeer sculptures to the walls of Cloud City and a X-mas party inside the UCS Millenium Falcon. Does this answer your question?

The 2009 Star Wars Xmas Contest. There are 3 categories to participate in: Xmas Landspeeder: Build an Xmas landspeeder Custom minifigs and accessories allowed (Brickforge, Brickarms and so forth). Max picture resolution is 800x600. 'Real' entries only - no digital entries. Contest ends on 30th of December 2009 at 2100 CET. Entries posted after the deadline are disqualified. Entries that doesn't live up to the rules after the deadline are disqualified. All entries will be indexed - this does not mean they are qualified or 'good' enough. All entries are considered WIP's (work in progress). An entry can be changed as many times as the poster wishes before the deadline. All entries are to be posted as individual topics with the following in the topic's subtitle: "Xmas 2009 followed by category Landspeeder or Vignette or Xmasificator" When the deadline has been reached a vote topic for the qualified entries will be made. More on the vote rules when that time comes. Comments and suggestions on entries are more than welcome. What are the prizes? Well there's at least one EB stormie up for each category's winner.
