  1. Any credits on your resume that may suggest where this came from Mr. AFOL?
  2. Thanks Kai. Hope no one is TOO sick of the flood of MOCs I put up recently!
  3. Now clear of all who could see him from the spy-laden town, Trian pushed his horse Charon hard to make for the Mystic Isles. If his ally's information was correct, he may have a lead on the source of the spreading Crimson curse. If only I had been more vigilant. If only I had stayed in Avalonia Trian thought to himself. Trian thought back to his meeting outside the goblet- intercepted by his friend, Brannan the mage. "I see time has not been kind to you old friend," Brannan chirped, "But perhaps you are here to settle an old score or two, or recapture you're youth recanting your daring deeds to your knights and fair maidens alike?" Trian retorted with a wry smile, "Are the knights of our lord no longer welcome here?" Brannan cackled as he reached up to Charon's reigns and clutched it with four fingers drawn wide. "I simply did not expect to see you here. Well, unless you seek special counsel from the mage from the Isles." Trian nodded in understanding and replied, "Perhaps I did, any counsel from old friends or those not left for dead is worthy of giving counsel, trust or drinks!" The mage shook his head. "The Goblet is no place for old friends to catch up anymore. Only unproven, unworthy men without honor are hunched over tables listening to false tales and spreading their own, watching the maidens serve." Trian smirked at his friend and replied coyly, "I have neither will nor coin to go to the Goblet. Tonight we ought to stay at your manor, safe from drunkards, false friends and old rivals." Brennan nodded and pulled his hands back from the reigns. "You have mistaken my warning of the crowd at the Goblet fro that of hospitality. There is no room even for the Lords men at Brannan manor now. I do hope you may call again another time when my table is available and my beds are empty" Trian grumbled in an annoyed tone- "Well if you are not having company, and the Goblet is no longer welcoming to weary soldiers like myself, I have wasted my time stopping in. I shall seek new lodgings in Drayton Plains, but do not think I won't remember this insult." The mage matched Trian's false annoyed tone with one of his own, "I did not wish to insult you Sir, but there is simply no place for you here." The gold knight snapped the reigns of Charon as he began a slow trot to the east west gate, towards Drayton Plains. As the horse moved away Trian blurted, "I will expect your hospitality upon my return." The Mystic Isles! Trian thought It's a long journey to reach even the first of them- how could the scourge have spread all the way here already! If they are in the plains, they are EVERYWHERE. Meanwhile- in the Mystic Isles, Lady Corlane welcomes more knights to her sanctuary- the Crimson Falcon Keep. Another loyal sword joins the Order of the Crimson Falcon. Their numbers swell- though there purpose remains hidden. The Order of the Crimson Falcon grows stronger by the day.
  4. Trian could hardly believe it to be true. Avalonia had faced many challenges, but never one quite like this. "In the Plains near Albion no less," thought Trian as he gripped the reigns of his loyal steed, Charon. The threat was different than those of the past- the Blackhand, the Drow- this threat was worse- Crimson Falcons. "If only I had been here during the Fracture- perhaps I could have stopped the rise of these vermin!" The Order of the Crimson Falcon were more than just another single lord with a lust for power gathering disgruntled vassals to their call- they were mysterious, dealing in lies and deceit with a cult-like zealousness to their leader. Whoever that was. But now the Crimson Falcons were flying their banners in the open- rumors of silver and crimson standards flying in every city in the Guild- every city except Albion- for now. "The enemy within- sowing deceit and fear- tearing the Guild apart from inside- spreading like a plague over all the lands... it is more insidious than any dark lord could ever be!" Trian steadied his thoughts as Charon picked up the pace. He needed to reach Grimlemore to see the tales for himself. The Black Goblet, a tavern where he had celebrated many battles won before was now Gtimlrmore's homebase for the cultists. "If I am to fight this scourge, I need to see it for myself!" Trian thought. "If the Falcon is in the Plains- what will I find in the Withering Woods or Mystic Isles?" The silver and crimson banner flies over The Black Goblet as a Crimson Falcon stands guard by the Falcon Gate.
  5. It's been a while since I built a castle- but here is a little something to get back into the swing of things. A little Wizard's Tower in Avalonia!
  6. Ah man... TOOOO much goodness! I am going... Zilmrud -1 point Little John - 1 point Louis of Nutwood - 1 point
  7. I am highly disappointed by the amount of misogyny in here. For how many years did we all crave more female minifigure heads? And now all we can complain about is the existence of female knights- or how lipstick is going to be smeared when they put on their helmet? Straight up ridiculous and shameful. If your army is sexist, change the heads or close the visors- but for goodness sake, leave the misogyny back in the medieval times where it belongs. I encourage anyone who sees more of this nonsense in the thread to report it and I will be issuing warnings and slapping the enlightenment stick on idiots who care more about protecting their gender ideology than discussing LEGO. Thank you muchly. Love the set by the way. Expensive- yes- but it is what LEGO is now.
  8. Very cool. I think if it weren't a battle mech there would be things to say about the proportions as it compares to the "real" IG-88, but as a mech, it is very cool. Honestly, I think I like these slightly chunkier proportions better!
  9. Nice work Bob!
  10. Errmmm... not Z... "E"!!!! This is very much GoH meets Ninjago City. I love it. A very interesting idea.
  11. That is one MASSIVE tree trunk. Very cool technique.
  12. Usually we only have MOCs and discussion on the forums as opposed to announcements- but since the CCC is an annual tradition and will hopefully lead to new MOCs being posted here, we're going to let this announcements stay. Now get to castle MOCing so we have more stuff on the forum!
  13. Thank you secret nemesis. I learned from you so that I may destroy you. I hope you enjoyed your last reign at the top.
  14. Very compact. Interesting shape and I love the way the cockpit opens.
  15. Good point.
  16. or LEGO, or art, or teal, or BLO or MOCs... tell me who on this site would this not include? I would also include I emphasized the word "THAT" in front of "exciting" to add to the obvious sarcasm. But I guess the secret is out. I secretly hate Si-MOCs and I am quietly plotting his destruction.
  17. You are form the US, so I see this is not a language barrier issue- but did you skip the ENTIRE first part of the post to put my comment into its proper context?
  18. I mean, it's awesome if you like teal or BLO or ships or LEGO or MOCs or sci-fi or space or art- but for everyone else, this is not THAT exciting.
  19. Thanks for your interest everyone. Do people like seeing the WIP construction stuff, or is it more of a final shot with fantasy details is better type situation?
  20. So here it is- my SHIPtember 2020 work. This SHIP has a few little things I tried to do to make this one distinct from everything else I have done before while still fitting in with my fleet. I really think overall it turned out well- so if you want to come on the build journey, read on! Build Log: Day 4: Yes, day 4- couldn't find the immediate motivation to start building, but with my friend, @Si-MOCs participating this year, I felt the itch to give it another go. I have two young kiddos who are doing full distance learning, so while I am home, the prospect of being in the LEGO lair is somewhat daunting, so I need to steal time here and there to work. My wife is understanding, but she is also an extrovert, which means I need to watch the kids a few nights a week up to bed time so she can have whatever social interactions she can muster. We start where I always start, a base and a frame. Or in this case, two bases, and two frames. Due to the length of this ship, for both purposes of moving it plus the eventual modular nature of this build, I am going to have an engine and bridge section that is detachable from the main ship. The orange SHIP in the back was actually built for a Virtual BrickWorld 2020 event and was built in a about two weeks or so for demonstration purposes. I think in the most technical of senses, it is not done, so it has not been photographed. Day 6: It may not seem like a lot of work between these two days, but it is important to get a start- and there are several things that happened here to help set me up. First, I actually spent day 5 sketching how I wanted this rear section to look. Second, I built the "forks" that will ensure the rear engine/bridge section can attach to the SHIP. Third, I built the underside of the hull and built attachment points for the first angled sections of the hull. I also started working on some shaping on the angles sections as well decided to sprinkle in a bit more dark bluish gray than "normal" for my fleet builds. Day 8: Good early progress is made- probably because I have a good idea of what I want this part of the ship to look like thanks to my sketch. The side hulls are build up and engine cluster extension is starting to take shape. I also have built a standardized docking ring that I have attached to all my SHIPs to allow them to interact with smaller support ships (if which I really have only built 1) or perhaps a space station docking port... more on that later? Day 9: Flipping over to the other side, the engine cluster extension is built, and the engine cluster is up next. You can see a couple of smaller engines also make it onto the bottom of the rear section here which will, of course, be lit up like all my SHIPs tend to do. You can see a pile of engine cowlings (aka pearl dark gray wheels) on the workspace ready for installation. Day 10: The rest of the engine cluster is complete and you can see the wires for the engine lighting showing up top as well. I also have a decent number of coaster tracks that will make its way into this build, and here is some of the first additions right here. Day 11: One of the better days for progress here as the detailing is done on the top and back of the ship which includes a pair of engine cores complete with lighting effects. I also added a pair of angled shuttle bays along with lighting for each. One of the things this SHIP will feature quite a bit is an asymmetric design detail, and here is the first sign of it. Day 12: Another good day of progress- thank you Saturday!- as the bridge is complete as well as any greebling on the front of this section. Again, the bridge is asymmetric. Here I am checking the alignment with the bridge section with the frame of the "main" section of the SHIP. Day 17: Wow. Been a while since I snapped a photo, but here is the update- the main section of the ship is under construction with the main feature of the ship shown here- a large repair platform. The platform is supported underneath by some large supports, made out of coaster track. There are a few changes that will be made from here- I think the width of the main part of the SHIP is too narrow, as is the repair platform. My son Miles (age 7) also built a little black "cran" arm for me, as you can see in the foreground here. It doesn't make it into the SHIP as I elected to keep it together as a little keepsake instead. You can also see some coaster track over top of the repair arms. This will be used for its actual purpose... to support a coaster car which will feature a large crane arm in the final model. Day 21: Moving over to the backside of the SHIP. You can see the coaster car at the top of the ship as well as I begin work on the backside of the ship. It will not feature the repair platform, but instead a shuttle bay, some mechanical details and a... well.. not sure yet... Day 25: Another angled hanger bay is built as well as the mechanical details. The orange hull us also shaping up with some dark orange striping to boot. Day 26: The hanger top is built as well as the hull over the second opening. Still day 26- but some big improvements continue. The rest of the hull is done along with the numbering. There is still a lot left to do, even at this juncture. There is nothing on the front of the ship, there is still a large hole in the hull on the side, the main crane isn't built, there are missing mechanical details on top, including a couple of overview towers on the repair platforms and some cable supports on the platform. I also want to add a couple of engines under this section so when it is not connected to the engine cluster, it could still have some propulsion. This will be the last WIP before the final ship is complete. And now for the other glamour shots: A detail overview shot- showing what filled the hole- with a cargo deck as well as a fighter launch rack- in the side of the ship as well as the addition of the main crane arm and the support cables and towers.
  21. Awesome. I am in love with it all.
  22. I like the shape, but LOVE the colors. They work so well together.
  23. Really does look like the source material to be sure. Still think you should sneak in some Mitgardian green... at least on the inside. It really doesn't look 150+ studs long, so it must also be quite tall too! Any idea on how tall it is from bottom missile tube to top of the bridge? Must be over 40! Late start didn't seem to phase you- SHIPtember complete!
  24. It is a consideration of course. None of the intakes are filtered so I would anticipate dust build up for sure. It is not a daily driver though, so who knows how much time it will spend being on. Good new is it requires no tools to take apart and clean!!!
  25. Thanks everyone- this was an interesting project.
