  1. Congratulations to the well deserved winners! I thought there would be more entries but even so it was difficult to pick only two to vote for in each category. On a personal note I'd like to offer my huge thanks to MKJoshA for hosting the contest. I built a little piece of Star Wars history that I would NEVER have considered attempting had it not been for this competition. Cheers!
  2. Cat A) 1 vote for #7 and #10 Cat B) 1 vote for #2 and #3 Cat C) 1 vote for #4 and #5
  3. My entry is here... Thanks to MKJoshA for the contest. Building my Landspeeder has been both fun and frustrating!
  4. My Landspeeder entry is Inspired by a prototype model by Colin Cantwell. Colin Cantwell was hired by George Lucas to produce concept work for 'The Star Wars' prior to production. Ralph McQuarrie would take inspiration from Cantwell's models and include them in his illustrations. I've taken some artistic licence with the design, giving it that beat-up Star Wars look and including seating for two people. I find it unclear from the concept model how many people it's supposed to carry but Hot Wheels produced a version with seating for just the pilot. Starkiller's Landspeeder on Flickr The pilot and passenger are inspired by Ralph McQuarrie concepts from when the story was focused on the Starkiller family and the character that would eventually become Luke Skywalker was a girl... Thanks to MKJoshA for hosting the contest
  5. I received my prize and it's already been stolen by my 9 year old! Many Thanks
  6. Wow, didn't think I'd get placed - was really just focussed on the having fun part. Thanks for the votes, congratulations to the other winners and huge thanks to Bob De Quatre for hosting the contest.
  7. A: 2-10-6 B: 8-2-1
  8. 5770 Lighthouse Island has been sitting on my Sons' shelf for years, gathering dust and gradually losing pieces to that strange place where Lego bricks just disappear to. But, Benny can rebuild it, he has the technology. Lighthouse, Lighthouse, Lighthouse! on flickr Thanks to Bob De Quatre for the contest! This has persuaded my Son away from Lego video games to do some actual construction with his Dad! Cheers.
  9. It's that time of year when savvy parents can score 6-8 weeks of good behavior by telling their kids that Santa won't leave any presents if they misbehave. Of course, the children of REALLY smart parent's are always well behaved because they've been told that Santa's demonic helper, Krampus, will take them and eat them, or drown them, or worse... Thanks to CopMike!
  10. Turns out that this isn't as big a bump as I thought it was going to be. Here's my new version of IG-88... Lego IG-88 on flickr @BrickG I really like your use of a cog for the lower body!
  11. Gwen Stacy (I can't find any torsos/legs suitable for Gwen in my collection so this is my own interpretation), Mary Jane Watson mod, Betty Brant (inspired by her appearances in the 1968 cartoon except I decided to use black hair rather than orange) and Felicia Hardy aka The Black Cat (Mighty Micros Spiderman has also received a leg & arm upgrade)... Spidey's Girls on flickr
  12. Thought my luck had run out but I won prize B yesterday - now comes the excitement of waiting to find out what that might be! Thanks as always to CopMike for running the raffle.
  13. It may seem like exactly the same idea as my previous entry, but it's actually bigger and better. Totally different! Honest. The Last Xmas Star Awakens IX by Praiter Yed, on Flickr Thanks to CopMike for hosting the raffle again.
  14. Blade Runner 2049 - Don't be put off by the long run time! It's a worthy sequel (although you don't need to watch the original to enjoy it), visually stunning & never boring. Unlike The Lego Ninjago Movie which was utterly tedious.
