Thanks for the replies everyone. They've been really helpful, I've got a nice amount of results, but I'll check back in to see if anyone else adds anything.

Hi everyone. I have just started my final project for 3rd year at uni and I am focusing on Lego. If any of you could answer a few questions it would really help with my research. The first two you don't have to answer, but it would help with categorising the results. 1. Are you male or female? 2. How old are you? 3. How old were you when you got your first Lego set and what was it? 4. What is your favourite theme (past or present) and why? 5. Why do you like Lego? You can be as brief or detailed as you like. If any of you have children that could answer the questions it would help vary the results from different age groups. Thanks in advance.

LEGO Superheroes 2012 Rumours & Discussion
Adam the Ant replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Licensed
Thanks for the pictures Hinckley Superman: Overall, a great minifig, I particularly like the quiff in his hair. Maybe a slightly darker red for his cape. Wonderwoman: I don't think they will change this one much at all, although with the way the bodysection is printed, they may have an attempt at having the body shaped in-line with the print. Batman: This one depends on whether you think it should be based on the comic version or the recent film version. If it's the comic version, overall fine, although maybe the gray a little darker. If it is the film version, it has be all dark gray/black and a more serious expression. Catwoman: Great overall, they may try the different body shape, like I suggested with Wonderwoman. The Joker: Nothing wrong with this one, maybe a different face if they went with the current films version. But with what they've shown, I think they are certainly going with the cartoon/comic versions. Poison Ivy: Nothing wrong with this one, I really like the prints on the hair. Wolverine: Overall good, no mask though. Iron Man: Helmet far too big in comparison to the body. I think they need to go with a moulded helmet and also some armour to go over the body section, this could allow a transparent piece for the chest. Hulk: He definitely has to be bigger than the rest, so I have no problem with the size, but the overall shape isn't quite right. Thor: Overall, I like the design, but I think he needs his armour to be a separate piece, so he looks more bulky, at the moment he looks too skinny. Captain America: Overall nice design. Colours work, but I think he needs a separate piece for his mask, doesn't look right with the stud. -
Some great mods here Just ordered this set, with £40 discount of VIP points. Now I just have to make room for it when it's built, looks like Tower Bridge will have to be dismantled.

@DarkDruid The wings were originally all the same size, then the top ones were bigger than they were now and then I finally picked the design you see here. @Baylego Great name, although I think there is an exo-force model already named that. Thank you to the other people who have commented.

It's been a long time since I've posted my own creations, uni work has been taking priority. My previous model took me 8 weeks to build as I spent most of the time looking for the pieces. This model only took me 2 days to design and build, so it definitely isn't perfect, but I was trying to see if I could come up with a decent design quickly. Any feedback would be great, positive and negative. Thanks. Adam_the_Ant

I love Star Wars sets, but I don't know why they're still just building sets just for the original trilogy and clone wars. Just from the computer games, we've had the Jedi Knight and Old Republic games and also the mmorpg coming out some time next year (mention if there are any more), they could easily make sets from those, although we did get one set for the force unleashed, which I think was a pretty decent designed set. And seeing as Lego have a license to design star wars models, why not come up with their own storyline to create a series of sets around or at least use one of the many stories in the expanded universe?

Great work, really like the design. I love some of the greebling work you've done Don't use a flash or take pictures near a harsh/bright light. I use something like this link to photograph my models. You can control the lighting a lot better, I just use a couple of household lamps to light the outside of it and it creates a much better all over lighting on the models.

New Lego Architecture 21007 Rockefeller Center

A very dull set and I have enough tan bricks from the tower bridge set, but thank you for the images. -
LDD 4 is released!
Adam the Ant replied to Daedalus304's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Mine still refuses to work, no matter what I try. I'm using Vista 32, might it be an operating system problem? -

Adam the Ant replied to Daedalus304's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Downloaded the update and installed it, restarted the computer, went to open LDD and it doesn't open Tried several times and different ways, doesn't even come up with a loading screen, just doesn't do anything. -
Thanks for the comments everyone. @ Topsy Cret are there any shots in particular you would like? @ DLuders Nice find, but they mixed all the pieces together and built it on carpet

10214: Tower Bridge Ages 16+. 4,287 pieces. UK. £204.99, US. $239.99, DE. €219.99, CA. $299.99 This is my first review, so let's see how this goes With 4,287 pieces, this is the largest model I have bought, so I was definitely looking forward to building it. The artwork on the box is great, some great shots of the model used. Link to my thread with pictures of the unboxing and the bags upon bags of pieces. I spent most of my first day of building just sorting them all, I ended up using several tupperware boxes to keep the pieces separate. So the first part was to build the bridge. And with the bridge up. My biggest issue with this set is with this section. The join that allows the bridge to move was a pin join, so there isn't much choice in how you position the bridge, it's either fully up or fully down, maybe a different joint could have been used? I decided early on that I would build both towers at once, I just prefer finding double the pieces needed, rather than going back and doing it all again once you've finished the first. Plenty of side studded bricks required in the tower build. Lots of tan wedges. These are for both towers, but you have to make parts like these on 4 different occasions during the build. And with them in place. I noticed only today that I put them on different ways up The towers at end of the 2x build. Inside of the tower. The high level walkways, with printed shield. The tower tops. Nice use of gold pieces for the very top. The finished model. Onto the dining table now, the model is too large to photograph in my lighting cube. Looking down on the bridge. You can see the final tower tops and the vehicles driving across. The bridge in the upright position. The vehicles. It's a nice selection and great that you get the London Routemaster and black cab. The spares. I haven't had anyone else to compare to, so I don't know if these are what should be left over or not. Summary Review Playability: 7/10 - This is definitely a set built to look at and it isn't minifig scale, but that hasn't stopped by brother playing with it and using to it stage Jedi duels It isn't intended to be played with, but that shouldn't stop you Design: 9.5/10 - Overall I love the design, the towers are the stand out point, with great detail and some nice building techniques. The only problem that I have is the moving bridge, which due to the join, can't be positioned very well. Price: 10/10 - The overall price may be a hit to the wallet, but price per piece works out at 4.7p/5.5c. Not to mention that you get over 500 tan wedges, around 100 windows and a large quantity of tan pieces, I would say it's worth getting. Build: 8/10: Generally it was lots of fun building the model and seeing it take shape, however there are a number of times when you have to repeat the same thing over and over again, but when you put them on the model I think it's worth it. To conclude I love this set, there are a few things that I think that could have been better, but overall it's great. Visually, it's stunning, which I think is the most important thing, I always enjoy looking at it and it will be a shame when I dismantle it for parts. If you are a fan of architecture or city models, although not minifig scale, I think it's still worth getting. Thanks for reading. I've made this into a separate thread, but if a mod feels it could be merged with my unboxing thread, feel free to do so.
