  1. Amazing work. I love the simulator too, it's great to see someone else building spirographs again!
  2. Incredible! I remember being blown away by the original lego recreation of the mechanism, but this is so compact! I reckon 3D printed gears are the way to go, would open up so many possibilities. Congrats
  3. Thanks Aron, differentials are the mvp of technic:) Cheers, glad you enjoyed it! Thank you! I am planning on doing a less cinematic video in the near future focusing on the pattern and mechanism more closely. I essentially folded it in on itself compared to the synchropods. I love that application of pendulum motion you did for the pangolin, I rarely am building these days due to playing music so very cool to combine the two. Can't wait to see what you come up with next!
  4. WAVES - A Kinetic Sculpture Hi everyone! Just released a video of my latest sculpture in my series of explorations into movements of the sea. This one is inspired by the great work of @aeh5040 with his synchropods. Really happy with how this creation as well as the video turned out, recently upgraded all of my camera gear. Hope you're all doing well!
  5. Hi everyone, sorry to revive an old thread but during iso here in Australia I decided to make some instructions for this model. They're up on Rebrickable now: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-48656/JEPPO/kelp-a-kinetic-sculpture/#comments Thank you! Adajacent spirals are the inverse of each other which is why they will never touch. The instructions should make this a little bit clearer:)
  6. Absolutely brilliant as always! I love the way you have arranged the diffs, very clever:)
  7. Love your models! This one particularly, I happened to have my bass out watching YouTube vids so I played along:) Some interesting polyrhythms happened!
  8. Great alternate build! The defender set is a great parts pack, was waiting on others to make some more B models! Halfway through building Milan's at the moment, might give this one a go when those instructions are out:)
  9. Cute build! I'm loving this contest, with all the extravagant (but awesome) supercars people are coming out with it's nice to have this refreshing stripped back style. Great job
  10. Hey everyone, thought I'd share a fun little video I made of the robo arm that was comissioned for a music video last year. It was an interesting build due to the way the centre of gravity changes as the arm moves about. I had to redesign a lot of the components to account for this. Super happy with the geometry of the base, working a triangle onto the banana gear racks was a fun challenge! Hope you enjoy, will be releasing videos every tuesday now during isolation. Stay well:) Fun fact: livery design inspired by Kill Bill
  11. Hey everyone! A lot has happened since I first shared this one. I found a way to access an additional speed out of the setup, and I also changed one of the gear ratios to access even more different patterns. I even had time to make a video and instructions, crazy times indeed. These are the first instructions I have made with studio, super happy with the result! Here is a link to instructions: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-39639/JEPPO/42110-b-model-the-defendergraph/?inventory=1#comments Hope we're all doing well at the moment and getting to spend some time with our Lego! I love unconventional technic stuff! Technic is already considered unconventional in Australia so this makes it really unconventional haha. Instructions are up now if you want to have a go:) Cheers, glad you like it Yeah why not? Milan's trophy truck is probably more of a b model than this though!
  12. Mine worked fine, just make sure you line up the slots on the sleeves of the universal joints that share an axle. Awesome set, you'll have a great time with it!
  13. Hey everyone, As soon as I saw the defender set and heard about its ambitious gearbox I knew I was gonna get it! Loved the set but felt that it didn't show off its engineering enough so I set off on building a B model for it. It has two speed gearboxes for each arm and a four speed gearbox for the turntable. Still has a few tweaks needed but for the most part all major mechanisms are in place. It's based off the design of my V2 spirograph which makes use of the sets differentials. I was worried about the stability of it as it is hand cranked, however I was pleasantly surprised with the results. The finished prints almost hide imperfections when viewed as a whole. I love this set, looking forward to see what others come up with. Once I am happy with everything I will make some intsructions and a full video of it, just wanted to share it with you all. Peace:)
  14. Thank you! Yeah, it definitely was a bit of fun. I'm excited to share them, haven't put out anything in well over a year now:0
