  1. Appreciate everyone's input on naming convention and sizes. #4 wheel going to production today. Two styles, one with a solid face and another with a spoked face, first run will be red and black. Expect to have them available in about six weeks. Ben Big Ben Bricks LLC
  2. XL, size 11, in Red and Black, available at Big Ben Bricks LLC now. Ben
  3. Working on a smaller wheel. Not much room to provide for a technic axle hole. Thinking about 14.4 mm in diameter (rolling diameter) with either a hole similar to 2927 or perhaps a metal axle. Also considering both a solid and spoked variety. Would appreciate any feedback. Ben Big Ben Bricks LLC
  4. To follow up. Dark Red Train wheels have been available since June. Medium wheels with o-rings are available as of July. If there is sufficient response, I'll consider larger wheels, but for now, just medium wheels. And now XXL wheels are available in Red, Black, Light Gray, Dark Gray and Dark Red. Always a joy to see what people come up with. Kind regards, Ben Fleskes Big Ben Bricks LLC
  5. Update. Very much appreciate everyone's feedback and input. Thank you. 1) I've rerun Light gray and clear and those are all now available, including XL drivers in Light Gray. 2) Based on survey response, In 2019 I'll bring Dark Red into the mix. 3) Injected molded XXL wheels are in the works. Again look for a 2019 release. 4) Have a solution for adding o-rings to BBB wheels as an 'added cost' option to improve traction. More information forth coming. Again, thank you everyone for your ideas, thoughts and inspiration. Ben Fleskes Big Ben Bricks LLC
  6. Not sure how to do a eurobricks poll, but if somebody else can, I'm happy to offer a $100 Big Ben Bricks store credit to the first person that does. Can't guarantee I'll run the new color options, but I'll do my best. So far I see suggestions for Light Gray, Silver, White, Gold, Purple and Pink. To whomever sets up the poll, please add whatever colors you think prudent. Thanks. Ben F Big Ben Bricks LLC
  7. Hi, Yes, Big Ben Bricks is still alive and well. And I even find time to lurk on Eurobricks from time to time. Just sent an email through and it came through okay, so I'm not sure what the issue is. Regardless, let me know how I can help. Cheers, Ben F Big Ben Bricks LLC
  8. Thanks everyone for your kind words and comments. It's all LEGO excepting the 1/4" steel all thread through the corners to hold everything in compression. No plans to make a full size cabinet. Regarding heat, the jamma board runs pretty cool and the cabinet is open on the bottom and there is venting on the top. The ATX power supply does have a fan that runs, put the power draw is so low there isn't much of a heat issue. Cheers, Ben
  9. I don’t get as much time to build as I used to, but here is one thing I came up with: A table top arcade game with a Jamma 48-1 printed circuit board, ATX power supply and Samsung 19” flat panel monitor. It plays many of the classic 80s arcade games like Donkey Kong, Pac Man, Xevious, Space Invaders and many others. Click here for pictures and video! Cheers, Ben Fleskes
  10. First, a note of thanks to the community for all the support Big Ben Bricks has received over the years. With out the support of many fans, the following announcement would not be possible. Big Ben Bricks is pleased to announce two new train wheels - A Medium Flanged Train Driver and a Medium Blind Train Driver - both with a 24mm rolling diameter. These and other BBB train wheels are available in 8 colors - including clear at: http://www.bigbenbricks.com Thanks, Ben Fleskes Big Ben Bricks LLC www.bigbenbricks.com
  11. Thanks for the invite, I sometime lurk on the eurobrick forums, but never posted before. I'm flattered that you like my model of the USS Constitution. A couple of comments on the model. The masts are removable - simply pull off the rat lines and they fall down :) I'm very pleased with the two tier ratline design (using two small ratlines and one large ratline per side of each mast) - it provided a remarkable amount of stability - both fore/aft and laterally. Visually, the 2x4 plate used to splice the ratlines together pretty much dissappears in al the rigging. Typically, pretty much everything I build now, I build modular. I find it a lot easier to build that way and as a bonus, it's that much easier to take to a conference to display - especially when it comes to packing it in a small car. My favorite feature is the hammocks. http://www.bigbenbricks.com/ben/lego/ussco...osssect_fwd.jpg I would of put in more, but that was all the white plates with ball joints that I had. It's fun to give them a little push and watch them swing back and forth. My second favorite feature is the flag. http://www.bigbenbricks.com/ben/lego/ussco...tution/flag.jpg I first built the flag using 1x1 squar eplates for the stars and didn't like the amount of white. Then I tried the 1x1 round plates and found that that looked a lot better. Later on, I was to learn that the USS Constitution originally sailed with a 13 star flag. Oh yes, and I really like the chair designs I came up with. http://www.bigbenbricks.com/ben/lego/ussco...tion/chairs.jpg Notice the pistol muskets used to support one of the arm rests. Biggest nit pick with the model: the side of the hull is entirely vertical. If I were to do it over again I would slope in the top and bottom for a more realistic curve. If people have further questions, please post and I'll respond when I can. Cheers. Ben Fleskes
