Regardless of theme, these questions go in community....

No. There is only one "Aliens", but there are four "Alien" movies. The Alien movies aren't numbered, but in order they go; Alien Aliens Alien³ Alien Resurrection Thus it's from two. You really should at least see Aliens; even today it's a good action movie. I like them all... but Alien³ is an aquired taste!

Is it OK to mix dark skinned mini-figures with yellow mini-figures?
Siegfried replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
True, but as I said, no ones skin is that yellow. When you consider the colours LEGO had to choose from at the time (white, black, red, yellow, blue and green... I think), yellow was the best choice. My thoughts exactly. Looking at older sets that my kids have, they have been doing it for a while. They also have men with asian looking eyes. -
Without a doubt, this is the best version I have ever seen. It even has an interior! I would post more images but they are all big so go here to see them all!

In future, these "I don't know what I like so please tell me" topics belong in community... if anywhere. I'll move this one there now.

Is it OK to mix dark skinned mini-figures with yellow mini-figures?
Siegfried replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Not at all; in fact quite the reverse. I like the idea that, for example, an asian can see yellow minifigs as asian if he wants too, or a black (with a good imagination ) could do the same. Afterall, no humans have skin that yellow; LEGO just chose that colour as out of their pallette at the time it was the best neutral choice. To think otherwise brands LEGO as being racist... when I don't think they were. I think they were just leaving things to the childs imagination... and trying to save on excess colours. Why do minifigs need to be of any particular skin colour anyway? They aren't very realistic copies of humans anyway so why make them skin accurate? Is skin colour that big a deal? I don't think so. But I'm just giving an opinion, as asked. You don't have to agree with me. Interestingly, as my wife reminded me of, LEGO have really confused the issue with Duplo. -
I love this set... and I wish I thought of the bridge piece idea! The only part I don't like is the lift... Thanks for the great review. Done!

Is it OK to mix dark skinned mini-figures with yellow mini-figures?
Siegfried replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
No. Using yellow and only yellow allows you to delude yourself that minifigs are either all the same or whatever you want.... as opposed them all being white-ies. Cloud City was a huge mistake on LEGOs behalf; I bet they got letters galore over that one... You can however get away with it easier in a made-up space setting; you can say that they are the "aliens"! -
Aussie sales! Share the news of LOCAL sales!
Siegfried replied to Darth_Legois's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Actually I think that's deliberate. Technically LEGO could sell sets on S@H at 40% off (or greater) and still make money... but if they did that the retail stores would probably get grumpy and stop stocking LEGO. I can see LEGO in ten years becoming on-line only, but for the moment I think they want/need to play nice. -
Thanks for the review. I was looking thought the instructions of this set last week and the cockpit design really impressed me. The finished droids look nice too. But as others have said, the prices seem a little steep so poor me might have to make do with the Death Star...

Dfenz has posted a review of the 7673 Magna Guard Starfighter here.... ...and metalandi has posted one of the 4210 Coast Guard Platform here!
-
Ahhh. This is the perfect way to end your reviews. The vast cargo area in this set always impressed me. You're right. If this set was released today I might insult it's squareness, but all I can see is perfection.

I've never even heard of this set... and I have none of that piece. I do love the idea of rebuilding old sets in different themes though.
-
Nice use of that giant wing. I'll have to give that a go myself soon.
-
Very nice. It's a great blend of different parts too; I especially like the diving platform piece.

I hate saying this, but I may be skipping this line. The parts are great, but the prices or not. That was the last set that had a decent part-price ratio. I was hoping that the Agents sets would be priced a lot better since they are non licensed; Volcano Base looks like the only decent (not good) deal now. Considering our exchange rate this makes no sense. I may need to switch to overseas purchasing... -
New TECHNIC sets for 2008
Siegfried replied to Conchas's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thanks! They are great. I'm off there now! So what do you think of the new universal joints? -
I put the photos back. To save people going back to the start just to see them... Most were found here...

Happy birthday! I wish you a good one!

Abracadabra... you are forgiven! Thanks for admitting. Since it has been inactive for years it is clear that you are telling the truth so don't stress. We generally don't delete accounts though as there really is no need to.

This was another set that got me as a kid... but I didn't get it. The mass of wheels is just so cool. (Now that you've finished your reviews maybe I should do some of my pathetic collection. )
-
This set never got me as a kid. I suspect it was because of the wheels; I had mostly Basic sets so it would have been more of the same. Looking at it now I can see I have misjudged it, and I love the lab-lift method. I'm going to have to build this to see it in action! Thanks for another great review.
-
I've never even heard of this one! This is one weird set. I love it! I've been wondering the same thing...
-
Oh did I drool over this set as a kid! Since I never got it I didn't know how bad the rocket really was... Great review. The white ones were.
-
Ahh, this set brings back memories... from last month! I was bidding on it and it slowly went out of my price range. I considered going higher, but I would have just used it for parts so it was hard to justify. Thanks for the great review.
