Sorry to be rude to a new member, but these topics are really annoying. Just imagine if every member created a topic whenever they wanted to buy a set. Also, there's a topic about this already... However, since a lot of you Technic guys seem to not want to hang out with the System guys I'll make a similar topic here, but please do realise that EB is one site, not a collection of many small ones. I'm making an exception here, not a rule...

We do pin a lot, but we don't go to the extent you're talking about. There are several reasons for this. For one, there will often be too many, secondly any important current topic will be on the first page and will be obvious due to the post number, but most of all we've found that pinned topics are often ignored. I think people start seeing them as a boring forum description or something, and then they go and create a new topic instead. So sorry, I can't see much change in this area. As for the unified topic titles I can see the worth in that, but please note that firstly, most forums are run by someone different so we'd then need to jointly decide on a unified title (which can take longer than you might expect!), and secondly a lot of those topics titles are created by members and we do try to not rename topics unless there is a good reason for it. (This is so we don't offend the member.) ...and on the subject of giving suggestions, please improve your grammar. It makes your posts hard to read.

We're doing one this year... with prizes. (Main prize probably in the range of 8070 and a second prize of something like 8068.) I've got some ideas and I've been sent loads over the last year or so but before I get serious with planning I want to hear more! An important aspect that I want to make part of this competition will be that it won't be decided entirely by public poll. I'd like about 50% of the weighting to be based on a combination of meeting certain challenges (such as make a MOC of a subject not normally done in Technic) and possibly a panel of EB Technic "Experts", with the rest being decided by poll after the first half is announced. This has several advantages, one of the biggest is that we won't see as much of "I'm-voting-for-my-friends-MOC-even-though-it's-rubbish" nor should we see the dreaded "I've-created-a-second-account-to-double-my-votes". ...anyway, rants aside, any ideas? Objections? At this stage I was thinking of running this next month.
