Avoiding a Bland Police Station
Littleworlds replied to Zephyr261's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Interesting question! I almost built a police station a couple months ago myself, but it ended up becoming a bank I think all in all, going with the typical downtown look is the direction to do. Brick walls, like 10246 Detective's Office would work well. With a couple of typical police-station-features added, like cameras, barred windows on the ground floor, a sign, streetlights - things like that. Maybe an entrance gate to a car park as well. Lots of possibilities to let it stick out a bit. An alternative to the brick wall would be some colour-coding. White/blue, for example, or whatever the local police colours are.- 7 replies

Indeed! And at least you are not splitting hairs in your story... -

Once again this is so cruel on several levels: the torn off limbs, hints of cannibalism and general carnage - and (even worse) that it always ends on some sort of cliffhanger! Very enjoyable reading and visually simply stunning. MORE!!! -

Brutal, witty, epic and as weird as ever! I'm glad to see another episode. It definitelyshows why it took a bit longer this time. Great work! -

Outch! I should have known this episode couldn't have ended peacefully. Again amazing technique in every aspect, but aw - that poor astronaut! -

Wow! A whole episode without murder and destruction! At least some betrayal though! Same high standard as always. Keep it up! -
I really like these subtle but nevertheless superbly done wall textures. A rough, windswept outpost; properly utilitarian and lived-in. It definitely works. Its not a typical scifi-build, but then again it absolutely works and won't look out of place on Dune or Tattooine. Beautiful!

This is simply spectacular! Beautifully built with so many lovely details. Spending about a year on a MOC like that doesn't seems exaggerated at all.

(Classic) Space Cruiser 40th Anniversary: Re-Imagined
Littleworlds replied to markhchan's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
A well executed new interpretation. My first reaction to seeing them side by side was how much more balanced and sleek your version looks like - and of course so much more detailed, but back in the day a 400 piece set was already really big and expensive! But really, your project shows how far Lego bricks got since. -
My initial reaction to the news was actually quite neutral, if slightly positive. Now reading the concerns people here have, I guess we have to see how this goes. I don't think TLG is going to clamp down on the sellers, but surely the amount of customer-data is a goldmine for them. At least for the AFOL-sector, which I assume is the biggest group on BL. Ah well, wait & see...

Hmm, these news came really surprising to me - in hindsight, with the recent collaboration in selling that limited run of MOC-sets - it maybe should not surprise us that much. I don't really know what the consequences will be and I'm not going to call this the end of days. After all, bricklink itself is just a platform. A platform of thousands of individual sellers, so the consequences of us as buyers will be probably not negative. And if they are, this would mean an open door for a potential competitor to pop up and has its moment. There are likely more Bricklink-MOC-projects coming up instead. Maybe it will even get as much importance as Ideas.

Wow! This looks really quite gorgeous. I also really appreciate that its something different. I think police stations MOCs haven't been done much (which might have to do with the usual 'too-many-police-sets!'^^) and this one is not only very well build but also beautifully detailed and thought out.
