  1. I know what you mean, I have tried building stuff in LDD and SR3D both of them has some advantage that the other program don't. LDD it is relative easy to construct a 3d model of the thing you are trying to plan ahead about, but it lacks some many parts that in the ended that is just frustrating. SR3D on the other hand, has the benefit of relaying on Ldraw, which mean that almost every lego piece in existence is a viable, the price is that the core ui of sr3d is harder to user that ldd. But then again if you masters sr3d then you get a really big advantage that the program can do real-life simulations of the model, that is to test if the thing can move and if the gears can rotate. But as it easy now I would wish that ldd and sr3d would be merged into on program, and that there could be made a way to automatic recreate a digital 3d model of physical model, just by letting a camera system scan it, that could be "a normal camera" or one "those stereo cameras / normal cameras + ir(infrared) / Kinect 2.0 based). A second advantage that would allow is the when kids are playing then camera system could projector images and sound of simple reel thing like flames or the sound of water flowing. A third advantage is digital 3d instructions in addition to those print on paper, where those in digital could verificy if the pieces is assembled correctly for the current step, just by during a quick scan.
  2. AVCampos fine idea, but that would mean that I have to lower the height of the compressor with one stud. And now right I am quit satisfied that I have maintained the reference design and the managed to extend that by one stud backwards.
  3. Thanks for your response. So does a new cylinder 4L does not deliver the same expansion force (i.e. in N by same exterior atmospheric pressure) as an old 6L cylinder? Moreover, what is the working pressure (measured in kPa or bar) in the systems before that one would expect to entirely new hoses burst?
  4. I am voting for a upgrade of the PF system, but belives that to be pretty unlikely haveing seen TLG plans for Mindstorm EV3, does anybody knows how many wires that are in cables for that system? I renemeber something about it being the same as the NXT RJ16 plug. And I will public maintain my viewpoint that the reason for TLG not to intergrated the two eletricial systems is more about buissnes reason, than care about kids and afol useing and playing with there products e.g. LEGO.
  5. That is just a really impressive moc Let alone the time you have commit to it. Clausen may I ask, if you recall(and wants to tell) if you did a 3d model of it before starting to build it or if you just build it, then rebuild it, and repeating that cycle until you was happy with it?
  6. grum64 - I could be temped but I already has bed tipping inplace using one pneumatic, so that would most certanly be to weak, but else it is a nice suggestion.
  7. No but is possible. But there are some pretty severe problems that you have to solve if you want to motorized the transmission and make it steerable. The steering is the big issue, because there are two problems in the TLG reference design that makes the steering poor. The first cause is the placement of the battery in the side, which Means that balance of the unimog is offset to that side, which is noticeable doing drive it. Secondly the steering geometry is broken, which means that it doesn't matter if you tries to steer the wheels with a pf m or pf sv, in both cases the steering will slugish. The solution is a complete rebuild that Nicjasno proposed, and it works but it is a hard build and quit part expensive.
  8. I have see the other thread about the 8110, there is a picture showing where I have placed two cylinder. But of note is that they can't lift the cabin if the batteri box is suspended under the roof. So I need to check if using lesser friction at rotation point could make it workable, because if I help it raise the firste 1cm then the cylinders can raise it all the way up.

  10. I promise that I will post some Pictures(maybe a photosynth) when I am done routing cables and try fitting the air tank where the batteri box used to be. I might also hold on until I have test if I can make the bed rising powered by a mLa + pf L.
  11. Pat try see the video now I have made it public http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBT2C6d-fm8
  12. There aint any copyright stuff in the video, but I will check it later on YT
