The remote control is sold out in the US after a 40% (!) discount. I would have gotten one of those if I knew earlier ??? I really wonder what is going on ? Cargo train is Sold Out as well in the US after a 20% discount. That would have been nice for (just) $159.00 ! Missed that one too… I wonder if they will bring a new Cargo Train again in 2025 ?

I noticed the same yesterday !… the 88009 hub is heavily discounted on the US site, and won’t ship until March. I ordered two of them for the $35.00 price. But it’s the second time in just over a month that they are “on sale” ?… It would suck incredibly if Lego decided to do something completely different again. And it would make them look like fools if they backtrack to PF ? So I second this, I’m slightly worried about this happening right now. I just bought some keybricks as well to power these hubs way more efficiently. Not cheap, but so much better and easier than batteries.

I got the Mountain Fortress in round one, as the “opposite side” to the Lion Castle. Because of that I will skip all the next round of Castle themed sets. I’m eyeing the Art of Chocolate as well; but am worried that it’s just too much money maybe ? But that set would look really good in any Winter Village setup, and I really am fond of that kind of integration. It also was the reason that a few years ago I got the Alpine Chalet. That one is still gorgeous and makes me want to go home on vacation every time I see it.

Ok. First impression. Set got delivered yesterday as promised, in the right time window as well. Shipping box looks very good and undamaged, which is an improvement. Btw, my shipping company was UPS, and I have the idea that they might be slightly more careful than FedEx is ? I didn’t open the box yet, but any damage to the set (if there is at all) is not coming from shipping I think, but from packing it damaged into the shipping box. I’ll update later today on the set condition itself. Oh, in case you’re wondering, I just ordered the Mountain Fortress. (Sometimes when you buy more than one set, they combine them into one box and then shipping damage is much more likely ?)

Yes, turnaround after notifications is fast this time. My set should arrive today. Hope it arrives in decent enough shape ?… That always worries me with every wave… Im just saying; the thing that makes these sets different is the box itself, and the fact they’re not designed by Lego. So missing out on a decent box is a disappointment to me. I’m a collector of sets; and these boxes make these sets stand out. was not saying anything about the pieces, you’re right that buying the pieces loose would be way more expensive. But to me, it’s literally a “package deal” 😜

I think they might. I know from earlier years that people got there set orders randomly cancelled it seemed ? I just got charged for my Mountain Fortress. Until this one, I don’t have it yet 🤞,… none of these Bricklink sets were (heavily) damaged when they got to me. But if one arrives crushed, etc. I will make sure the set goes back and I’ll get my money back ? I rather not have the set at all, than have a completely damaged/destroyed box ?!… Part of the exclusivity is the fact that it comes in these different boxes; without that it might as well be a “Brickpicker order” 🤷♂️

Interesting thought. I bought this Mountain Fortress as the “opposite side” to the Lion Knights Castle. 😊 In round two I got the Station, and then I will be much more picky in deciding which one to buy; there are too many that are good, and Lego isn’t helping with their own releases either. I can’t afford them all, and storage is going to be hard too…

It feels better organized ! 😃 And that’s great after last year, where it was the same email over and over again every week. This feels more streamlined, organized and caring than last year; which is great ! Now I hope it stays like that for all the next rounds too ?… 👍🏻 Bring on the Mountain Fortress ! 🥰🤪

Two things I like to bring up. 1. I bought a few KeyBricks in Germany; and I’m a very big fan of them. If you’re tired of dealing with 🪫 batteries, this is a good (slightly expensive, but it’ll pay back itself !) solution. 2. Jay is mentioning that the 60336 train might retire soon. If this is true, are we getting a replacement freight train then ? And will it still be PUp ?… “…Thats all folks…” 😀

Keybrick One / Rechargeable battery pack for Powered Up
Wimmer replied to keybrickone's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I’m in the US, and found Keybrick “by accident” while looking up something about the old power functions 8878 pack. I have ordered 3 of the Keybrick One’s and have been playing with them in the Crocodile, and the City Freighttrain. Yes, shipping was $38 to Southern California; but I’m already happy I did, and don’t have to go to Costco anymore to buy gigantic packs of batteries 🪫, that then empty out pretty quickly. I have two trains on them, bought three bricks so one of them can charge while I’m using one, or two, of them. I’m happy with them, and the power modes as well. Now I just hope you guys at Keybrick will make something for the battery hub that’s in the Ideas lighthouse ? 👍🏻😊
