  1. Here are some pictures of the weight of the (mostly) finished product. Don't worry, I tared/zeroed the scale with the cutting board first so it wouldn't be added to the final weight of the truck. I attached both Imperial and Metric forms of measurement for y'all:) It's one hefty beast! It weighs 4lbs 2.2oz or nearly 1.9 kg (1877 grams)!
  2. I also found the Volvo Articulated Hauler 42114 and got it for $70 at the same garage sale two days later! It was intact, completely built, but no extra pieces. It did not come with the stickers and I only see a couple pieces missing, but for that price it was a steal!
  3. I found the 42128 for $70 at a garage sale. It was partially built, but everything is intact, some of the bags weren't even opened yet! I have yet to verify all the pieces are there though, as one bag was left open.
  4. This is looking great @JLiu15! I am amazed at the size of this project that you are taking on. Keep going, it will turn out very well! One question, is the center axle driven? It looks like you have the rear axle driven with the two XL motors but I was just curious. It might be helpful to have more traction for a model that will likely be pretty heavy!
  5. This is really neat @Toastie! I, as @2GodBDGlory do not comprehend the entirety of the details you presented, but I have one question: the light sequence was counting in binary, correct? I took a digital electronics course during my first year of college so I have a good base knowledge of some of these things.
  6. They are the same as the piece @HorcikDesigns mentioned here: They look smaller than 2x2 and bigger than 1x1 so maybe 1.5x1.5?...
  7. This is really neat @2GodBDGlory! The Pendulum suspension has always intrigued me, and you did it very well for such a large model! I'd be interested to see how it performs at the truck trial meet! I assume you have an ESC on board? But how did you translate the 3S lipo to a PF connector?
  8. Yes, I will adjust the location of the steering wheel. The driver will sit much farther forward in the final design. I just placed the steering wheel there so I could test the front steering while I tried a few different axle designs. lol
  9. Hello all, I am working on building a pickup truck, that will ideally look much like a late 70's Ford truck, but I will keep the look generic as per the contest rules. My planned functions/features: - Independent front suspension/steering - Rear suspended live axle with Panhard rod - Lights - Drive by PF L motor - Steering by other PF motor I have built a prototype chassis already, and have settled on a good rear axle configuration similar to my 42138 Mustang Upgrade but this one includes a Panhard rod. I was going to build a solid axle for the front (non-driven) but I don't think I will be able to keep the vertical footprint small enough to allow me to fit a motor above the axle. I will probably end up putting an independent suspension in the front but I don't currently have any 5L suspension arms available (I currently have them in my RC build that I posted some pictures of in the Technic Generic WIP thread) so I might have to divert to a similar design that I used in my previously mentioned Mustang. Any thoughts? I know this is early on in the design process, but are there any suggestions as well?
  10. I see it now, that is very clever... I guess as long as the rear axle does not move frontwards/backwards noticeably, the red 2L axle should not slip out very easily.
  11. I'm ready! lol I think this is more of a welcome change than the colored gearbox parts though...
  12. @damjan97PL, this is such a stunning build! The wheels fit really well with the Bronco style. It is immediately recognizable. The suspension and drivetrain look well designed. You have a great balance between detail and appearance and playability. Great job! Question: is that red axle connecting two u-joints for your rear diff lock 6 studs long? It appears that it might be fitting in a space that is less than 6 studs...
  13. Is-is that the One Ring?!? Looking good! I especially appreciate the virtual pivot steering. Does your door opening mechanism function well? It looks like it might get stuck in the open position at times... but that is probably not an issue, it looks very well designed.
  14. Hello! I own the 8527 Mindstorms NXT set, in like new condition, and am looking for a buyer! All parts are present, including the red and blue balls, CD-rom, user guide, and original box. It was assembled once, and then shelved. Price: Please send me an offer! I am looking for something a little lower than similar Bricklink listings but I am willing to negotiate. Shipping: I will be shipping the set from USA. I am looking for sellers in North America so I can provide free shipping, but if the buyer is out of country then I might have to add part of the shipping costs to the total price. Please DM me if interested! (sorry for the blurry photos, these were taken on my camera and not my phone)
  15. The car was fine, it just would randomly drive or turn on its own until I turned it off. (I don't want to derail your topic so if you want to keep talking we can chat in the DM )
