I grew up in the comunistic part of Germany. We had something like LEGO there but the bricks were terrible. My first set was - no kidding - a sovjet mobile Nuclear Rocket launcher! My first real lego set classic moon 6844 seismologic vehicle. LEGO was so expensive for us back then that I read the included advertisement catalog like a comic book at night, dreaming of all the cool stuff I would never have.
In the 90s I got some more sets ending up with some 1-2000 bricks that I used over and over again to build and rebuild everything from star wars to Jules Verne (mostly in red bricks)  with working gadgets ofcourse.
Today I am a product designer and during the pandamic I got me the old batman tumbler and I discovered: I can just order bricks from bricklink now and so I started MOCing, developing all the stuff I'd like to have but LEGO doesn't sell or not the way I want it.
