  1. I was just watching Toy Story 2 on tv today (my copy's a vhs, and I don't happen to have a vcr), and I noticed some scenes that would make some pretty good sets. They are mentioned below. ________________________________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________________________ Where Buzz Lightyear (the one that wears the fancy-pants belt) takes on Zurg on top of the elevator! (Zurg's probably gonna have one of those bionicle launchers hooked up to his arm) The chase scene where the real Buzz and the gang are chasing down the chicken man (his real name eludes me). It could be in Racer scale! The airport conveyor belt scene. Buzz leaping from conveyer belt to conveyor belt. The gang with cameras. Woody vs. Stinky Pete in a battle for the ages! ________________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________ Those are just some scenes I thought could make some cool sets.
  2. Here in an undisclosed Latin America country where I live, the stores are still stocked with most of the batman sets. Of course, they're like $7 (usd) more expensive, but it's better than $50 (usd)! I still can't seem to find Arkham Asylum. Have found the Batcave though....
  3. I like it! I might try some Castlepunk later today. Huzzah, I feel inspired!
  4. I am totally amazed at these little mocs! You must be some type of genius, the way you crammed such detail into builds with such few pieces. I feel like going out and buying the set, just to take a swing at these! Btw, does anybody know if the torso that comes with this set can be found in any other sets?
  5. That looks really proffesional. Great job! I actually didn't see the treasure chest at first, as it blended in with the ground. Lol.
  6. Hey, I don't know if you guys saw or not, but the newest episode of Avatar: the Last Puppetbender recentley came out. If you haven't seen the series yet, I strongly suggest checking it out on YouTube!
  7. That keeps happening to me too, except that I'm not even touching the link and it still pops up....
  8. Oh, really? I hadn't heard that. That's awesome! I wonder what they were working on..... Does anybody know where I could get Henrik S. Clausen's address, so I could send him a large quantity of unmarked bills in assorted denominations, I mean, uh, a letter, telling him how awesome it would be to be able to know what type of sets they were designing?
  9. Well, I on accident started a movie/lego-set-tie-in thread on accident, not seeing this. Oops. I've been making a few little mocs from the show, but they're all minifigless (I'm trying to get my hands on the official figs). I loved seeing all the little (and big) mocs for the raffle. Those were really impressive. Anyways, that's all I got to say.... So.... .... Peace Out
  10. Sorry everyone, I hadn't seen that the movie information had already been discussed. I think the sets could have done better, if they had been easier to acquire, and if they had been released later. When they were released I didn't even know what Avatar was, and thought the sets sounded a bit weird. Now, the show's a big hit, and people are spending 200 bucks to get the sets. Which brings me to a question that I was hoping you guys could help me out with. Does anyone know where I can get the Avatar sets for less than $80? I've looked everywhere, and am afraid I won't be able to get my hands on the sets, due to the high prices, plus overseas shipping. If anyone knew a place that sells them rather cheap, that'd be great. I would love sets from the Sozin's Comet episodes. Like when the White Lotus guys (don't know their name in English, as the show is in Spanish where I live... XP) are trashing the Fire Lord's army, or a Fire Nation war balloon set! Maybe a set from when Aang duels with Toph (the episode where they first met). It could have little nobs and stuff that make rocks fly out of the ground, or giant rock waves or something. That'd be nice. Orion
  11. Yeah, I guess you're right. Oh well, I can still dream!
  12. Okay, this is my first topic ever, so hello everyone. I'm Orion. Now onto the subject of this topic. I'm a big Avatar fan, so when the show's last season was over, I was kinda upset. I've been looking around, to see if there were any rumors about a new season being planned, when I stumbled across this article on Wikipedia (here's a link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_last_airbender ): Start Article Feature film On January 8, 2007, Paramount Pictures' MTV Films and Nickelodeon Movies announced that they have signed M. Night Shyamalan to write, direct and produce a trilogy of live-action films based on the series; the first of these films will encompass the main characters' adventures in Book One.[59] The film was in a dispute with James Cameron's film Avatar regarding title ownership,[60] which resulted in the film being titled The Last Airbender. It is set for release on July 2, 2010.[61] Shyamalan was attracted to the series because of its inspiring martial arts and spiritual theme,[62] after being introduced to the program by his children. Filming will begin in March 2009 and take place in Philadelphia and Greenland. Producer Frank Marshall stated the film may be moved to later in 2010 or even to early 2011, and that some filming could happen in the Far East.[63] According to an interview with the co-creators in SFX Magazine, Shyamalan came across Avatar when his daughter wanted to be Katara for Halloween. Intrigued, Shyamalan researched and watched the series with his family. "Watching Avatar has become a family event in my house ... so we are looking forward to how the story develops in season three," said Shyamalan. "Once I saw the amazing world that Mike and Bryan created, I knew it would make a great feature film."[64] Avatar co-creators Mike DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko have come forward to voice their opinion within an interview regarding M. Night Shyamalan writing, directing and producing the film. The two displayed much enthusiasm over Shyamalan's decision for the adaptation, stating that they admire his work and, in turn, he respects their material.[65] M. Night Shyamalan said he will write the second film while preparing to shoot the first.[66] James Newton Howard, who has composed all of Shyamalan's films since The Sixth Sense, will compose The Last Airbender.[67] Shyamalan originally offered the roles of Aang to karate-trained Texan Noah Ringer; Sokka to Jackson Rathbone (Twilight); Katara to Nicola Peltz (Deck the Halls); and Zuko to Jesse McCartney.[68] The casting of white actors triggered negative fan reaction marked by accusations of racism, a letter-writing campaign, and a protest outside of a Philadelphia casting call for movie extras.[69][70][71][72] Rathbone dismissed the complaints, saying "I think it's one of those things where I pull my hair up, shave the sides, and I definitely need a tan. It's one of those things where, hopefully, the audience will suspend disbelief a little bit."[73] In February 2009, Dev Patel replaced McCartney, whose tour dates conflicted with a boot camp scheduled for the cast to train in martial arts.[74][75] End Article I'd expect this to boost Avatar's fan count, and was wondering if Lego might restart their Avatar line, so it could tie-in with the movie? I really missed not getting Lego's two Avatar sets, and thought this might be a great way to get new sets! Anyways, none of this is based on any evidence from TLG, it's not even rumored, it's all my imagination. Feel free to discuss. Also, if you want, you can post what episodes you think would make great sets. I'd enjoy reading those alot.
  13. Toy Story seems sort of strange to me. I mean, it is one of disney's greatest, but it just seems a bit hard to execute. I mean, a bunch of toys in a human sized world? If everyone is minifig sized, then the props and playsets are going to have to be huge! Will TLC be making molds for all the other characters, like Rex and Mr. Potato Head? It just seems like the set designers will have to get pretty creative. I'm not trying to bash the new theme, I'm all for it! It just seems a bit odd. I'm really wanting some screen shots from the new PoP movie, so I can guesstimate my opinion on the PoP theme.
  14. I did some screen-shot searching yesterday, and if the movie is like the game, we're gonna get some nice sets. Btw, since one of the main characters in the movie and game is the princess, does that mean a new female fig?
  15. So far 2009 is looking good for Star Wars. Could anybody estimate a US price for the Admiral Ackbar set? I'm really loving the figs and that ship.
