Your crew is very colorful! Maybe too much color... The red, pink, and greens make it seem too cartoony for me. You've accurately portrayed each race with what's available in Lego. It just hurts my eyes a little. If you were to make only 1 change I would put your female Devaron in a different color suit of armor. Red just really clashes with the lime green.

Love your character fig-barfs! The tree trunk looks chunky, but the foliage is great!

Your walls are top notch!

Nice perspective angles on your pictures! Some of them look a little grainy, maybe use lower ISO and more light?

(N7 - Wayland - CFS) Mato V: No Soliciting (If You're Techno Union)
MKJoshA replied to RocketBoy's topic in Factions Archive
Your story writing is excellent! Your Techno Union rep is well done, instantly recognizable. I really like how you accomplished your angled dock. A couple suggestions, the red seems very harsh next to the earth tones. Maybe pick black, white or greys for the rest of the building and leave the earth tones for the ground if you're going with red. I'd also suggest looking for some tutorials on SNOT rock work. What you have is nice, but it's very basic. Even just looking at other examples online and trying to copying them can teach you a lot. -
(N7 - Wayland - CFS) Mato IV: Along Old Lanes
MKJoshA replied to RocketBoy's topic in Factions Archive
Great story! And your build is nice too. A good use of a limited number of parts. I would replace some of the leaf pieces on the ground with 1x1 rounds in earth tones, but I understand not everyone has the collection for that. -

There have been some legitimate discussion going on here. But after 3 pages I'm going to call it off track now. Let's try to get back on target. -
The leadership has decided that you can spend SoNE XP on planets connected with this Episode. Seeding planets is still not allowed, but spending some of your SoNE conversion XP is okay.

I think I understand your question correctly. You may build on these planets outside the main episode challenge. So you may enter freebuilds for Kril'Dor if you currently have access to it. I think we need to draw the line at spending SoNE XP though. That does start to become unfair since you probably wouldn't have spent the SoNE conversion points on Uyter unless this challenge had come up. So freebuilds are fine, SoNE XP conversion is not.

Lego has a long history of making sets based on Superhero movies. Some of the movies, like Avengers, Justice League, and Spiderman: Far From Home got multiple Lego sets. But there is an even longer list of movies that have received only one set based on them. Movies like Aquaman, Captain Marvel, Ant-man, Doctor Strange, and even the first Wonder Woman movie have a singular set to represent the film. Wonder Woman: 1984 seems to follows this trend and delivers one set to satisfy our Lego Wonder Woman cravings. Set Information Name: 76157 - Wonder Woman vs Cheetah Theme: Wonder Woman 1984 Year: 2020 Pieces: 371 Minifigures: 3 Price: £34.99 / $39.99 / 39.99€ Resources: Brickset and Bricklink The front of the box is a bold move on Lego's part, but I think it works. Traditionally the front of a Lego box displays the set and minifigures against some backdrop that is supposed to highlight the Lego bricks. This box, as you can see, has more of a movie poster feel. It looked very stunning on the Target Lego shelf and automatically stood out. I wonder if Lego is trying to create one more collectors item. I usually throw my Lego boxes away. But if they created a box like this for some of my favorite themes I'd be hard pressed to part with it. The "back" of the box is more what we would expect a Lego set box to look like. The bright light at the top of the mountain really messed with my camera. But the surreal lighting on the box is actually present in real life. The designers did a very good job capturing an atmospheric feel. Inside you'll find just two numbered bags, a small sticker sheet, a loose 8x16 baseplate, and the instructions. I'll be honest, the main reason I wanted this set were all those solar panels. When I dumped the contents out on my floor and saw how small the sticker sheet was I let out an audible "Yes!" I thought the solar panels would be stickered and I wasn't looking forward to applying all of those 2x2 stickers perfectly. Instead, they are all printed pieces! The instructions show what to expect at the end of building each bag. Part of the first bag is adding foliage to the building. The stalk on the right came in the set. The stalk on the right is from an older set. You can see that the older piece is shinier while the newer piece has a more matte look. My guess is this is due to Lego making some plant pieces out of plant based material now. Apart from the slight difference in shine, I couldn't see anything else to differentiate the two. I know there are instances of this in other sets, but this was the first time I could remember putting stickers on both sides of a Lego element. It's a nice attention to detail on the part of the designers. There are a few cool building techniques in this set. The bunker window (or whatever it is) is created by using the 1x1 stud with hold attached to the 1x1 modified tile with nipple. I've used this technique a few times myself in MOCs. But this is the first time I've seen it used in a set. The end of the first bag leaves us with 5 spare parts and an imposing looking door. On to bag 2! The contents of the second bag really got the builder in me excited. There are mass quantities of key elements and I can't wait to incorporate them into other builds! Most of the second bag is used to build the radar dish on top of the building. The radar is turned using the 4 tooth technic element as you can see here. Step 87 tells you to use 12 of the 6L bars. But if you think that's a lot of 1 piece in a building step, just wait till... Step 88 where you need 32 of the pearl gold 1x1 studs with holes! These are combined with the modified bars to create the shaping of the radar dish. The set designers did a great job of making it easy to apply all the panels at just the right angles to make the shape of the dish work. The "extra" 6L bars provide guides for the panels to make sure they rest at the correct angles. The center of the radar is created using 4 tranquilizer guns and is a great use of the piece! Finishing bag 2 leaves us with a small assortment of extras. The last page of instructions shows the moving radar play feature. The previous page shows a suggested posing for the characters, but everything else is left to the imagination of the builder. I really expected there to be more suggested play. So much so that I had to check the online version of the instructions to make sure I hadn't been given a faulty instruction book! It's not a bad thing, Lego is about using your imagination anyway. It just seemed surprising. Here's the complete set! And an action shot I feel they should have included in the instructions. The 3 minifigures have detailed printing. The gentleman is named Maxwell Lord if Bricklink is correct. I've gotten the impression that he is a known DC character. So that just shows my ignorance when it comes to DC! And he is the only figure to lack leg printing. But his detailed suit coat more than makes up for it in my opinion. They all have back-printing as well. And all 3 have double sided expressions. Wonder Woman's helmet/hair combo sticks really far out from her back. This is to accommodate the wings, but seems to greatly limit its use. The wings have been used before for Falcon from the Marvel Comic sets and for Vulture from the Spiderman sets. But this is the first time it's been produced in pearl-gold. Final Thoughts: So is this set for you? Playability: 8/10 - There are some built in play features with the moving radar and the trans-clear bar for posing figures in mid flight or jump. There are also plenty of spots to attach the minifigures both inside and outside the bunker allowing for re-creation of the movie scenes. Assuming of course Lego had enough source material to make the scene accurate We'll have to wait and see if that was the case until after the movie comes out. Building Experience: 10/10 - I really enjoyed this build. It was not repetitive except for parts of the radar. And even those didn't feel boring. It had creative parts usage and cool techniques. Probably my favorite building process since The Upside Down. Design: 9/10 - Having not seen the movie, I can't compare this to the scene it was designed on. But as an overall design it's pretty good. It looks like a WW2 bunker with a fancy radar built on top. I'll assume that was the look they were going for. And if so, they captured it really well. Aesthetic: 8/10 - The color scheme works pretty well. It's a little bland with all the tans and golds. But the colors work to create the right atmosphere. The bunker is designed well and there is just enough foliage that it doesn't feel like a plain old rock face. Minifigures: 9/10 - All 3 minifgures are exclusive to this set and will probably be highly sought after. The printing is excellent. I'm giving it 9 instead of 10 since there is no leg printing for Lord and no arm printing for any of them. Price: 8/10 - For a licensed set I think this is priced pretty fairly. It's almost at the $.10/piece mark, and it has a bunch of printed parts with all the solar panels. I bought it at full price and don't regret it! Verdict: 9/10 - This is a solid set and definitely one you should pick up! Even if you're not a DC Comics fan there's plenty in this set to draw you to it. You may be one of those who waits for sets to go on sale. But even without a promo I would suggest getting it.

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces

5 elements in lacquered gold from the 80012 set have been selling for $0.02. The shield tiles, bananas, wheel bases, 1x2 slope and 1x4 curved slope. They've been going in and out of stock for a month now. So Lego has either not realized there is a mistake, decided to leave the price even though it's wrong, or they have some other reason for allowing the piece to sell so cheaply. You're not cheating the system if you buy 200. Myself and a bunch of others on this site have done just that. -

Moff Pyerce served the Empire faithfully while the Emperor was alive. After the Battle of Endor he kept his star systems in line and hoped for the best. But when he received his orders for Operation Cinder he decided the Empire he once served was finished. It wasn't that his orders made him squeamish. Pyerce just saw Cinder as an act of desperation from a dying government. He convinced five Star Destroyer captains as well as a handful of frigates to join him and they've formed their own Imperial faction. They did not join the Battle of Jakku but watched as much of the Empire was defeated there. Now Moff Pyerce is seeking to form the Pyerce Empire. He has split his fleet up to create blockades around key planets. If they don't join him, he's threatened to bombard them with his Star Destroyers until there's nothing left on the planet's surface. Each planet has sent out a distress signal to the New Republic asking for aid. But this signal was intercepted by each faction. Now the factions are mobilizing their fleets to respond to this new threat. Some want to help the New Republic defend the planets. Others just want to take advantage of the strife to try to gain these planets for themselves. Each planet with a blockade has an essential export:Tibanna - Kril'Dor (I7)Minerals - Bonadan (S3) Foodstuffs - Uyter (P9)Starships - Fondor (L13) Contest Specifics: Factions can build on any of the 4 planets regardless of current access. Each faction can build on as many different planets as they want, but are encouraged to concentrate their efforts for maximum effect. Cat A) With the blockades, fleets can't get through to the blocked planets without getting stopped or spotted. But smaller craft can avoid the patrols and make their way to the planet's surface. This allows for small strike teams to begin attacks on the planet's surface. Show your land forces fighting with Pyerce forces or natives. Size limit: 32x32. Cat B) Pyerce's forces need to be driven off or eliminated if the planets are going to be saved. His blockade is going to need to be dealt with. Show a space battle with at least 2 ships, one from your faction and one from Pyerce. Pyerce's doesn't have to be a TIE variant, just make sure your story explains the ship choice. You can build any size for this including minifigure or mini scale. You can build fighters, capital ships, or both. Size limit: none. Cat C) As the different Faction's fleets take on the blockades, someone has to be in command. Show the interior of your faction's command ship deck. Think Star Destroyer bridge, Home One bridge, etc. Size limit: none The Rules: Entries should be set during the Factions Era, roughly 6 ABY. All entries must be posted as a new topic in the Factions subforum, the title prefixed by [Factions Ep. 6- Category][Build Sector - Build Planet - Faction]. For example, “[Factions Ep. 6 - Cat A][I7 - Kril'Dor - CS] Strike Team”. Each person is only allowed 1 entry per category. All entries must be entered using this form: Link to Submittal Form All rules in the Core Rules topic apply unless otherwise stated in this explanation or the rules above. There are no extra restrictions on the size/form/content of the builds beyond what's explained in the Contest Specifics, as long as they follow the above described goals. The Episode will run from July 1st to Aug 30th Aug 31st. As long as it is still Aug 31st somewhere in the world, you can still enter. Entries posted after the deadline will be disqualified from the episode and will not be eligible to receive points or XP. Entries will be judged according to the following rules: Your build can earn up to 50 points. The amount of points you earn is also the amount of XP your character earns. This episode/contest is open to all players of Factions, even if they joined EB or signed up for the game after the episode has begun, with the exception of the Star Wars staff, who are not eligible to win prizes. All entries must be new creations, not posted anywhere else prior to the start date of this episode. You can use creations for this contest in other forums or contests, but it should not have been displayed before the start date for this contest. You may be asked by a staff member to change your entry if it is too similar to an earlier creation. All entries must be built from real LEGO or with Lego Digital Designer. No third-party molds may be used for the subject non-human. If you are using Lego Digital Designer, please remember you can only use existing colors and pieces. Also be aware that the judges will watching to make sure your LDD model could hold itself up in real-life. Post pictures no larger than 1024x768, as specified in the EB Member Guidelines. You may do a 'full-blown photo edit' with all the text, effects, background compositing, support erasing, and other effects on ANY picture. For obvious reasons, any photo editing that changes the shape, functionality, or color (not tint or adjustment, but actual color) of a LEGO piece is prohibited,. All entries are considered WIPs (Works In Progress) until the deadline passes. Until the deadline has passed, you are allowed to change and improve your MOC. The Prizes: You will receive XP equal to the number of points you are awarded from the judges. XP will be converted to IP to be distributed by the Faction Leader to any planet within the build sector. So if Clan Elder has 5 builds totaling 33 XP on Uyter, Ross Fisher can choose any planet in P9 to get 33 IP. Factions must distribute at least 10 IP to any planet they choose (so Ross couldn't give 1 IP to each planet - "seeding" them for later builds). If a Faction earns less than 10 IP in a sector, they may only choose one planet to distribute the IP they have. If two Factions distribute 50+ IP to any one planet, the Faction with the most XP on that sector's target planet will get their IP attributed first. The player with the most XP overall will win this custom minifigure: The player with the second most XP overall will win these minifigures: The Faction with the most XP overall will get 50 IP on any/all of the four planets where they earned a majority of the XP compared to the other factions. The Faction with the second most XP overall will get 25 IP on any planet where they earned a majority of the XP. The Faction with the third most XP overall will get 10 IP on any planet where they earned a majority of the XP. For example, if the Tirumvirate has the most XP in the whole episode and a majority of the XP on Kril'Dor and Fondor, they will each 50IP on those planets. If CorSec earns the second most XP overall, they will receive 25IP on any planet where they earn a majority of the XP. If the first, second, or third place Factions did not earn a majority of XP on any planet, they will not receive any extra IP not earned through their XP conversion. One Holocron is hidden on a (canonical) planet in an adjacent sector to each target planet, a total of 4 new holocrons. Factions that gain a majority of XP on a target planet will be given the precise location of the Holocron adjacent to that planet

*Your entry has earned 8 XP* Mick's Story: CorSec has many departments. But they are primarily a peace keeping outfit. Over the years they have collected data from around the galaxy. In the data centers on Corellia you can find criminal case files, reports on local flora and fauna, and historical records. The Emperor had long ago ordered all records on the Jedi purged. But every now and then someone would come across on old data drive that hadn't been properly wiped. Sometimes it would yield information on the Jedi and what really happened during the Clone Wars. Other times it would just be an old recipe for Bantha Jerky.
