[MOC] LEGO Star Wars 25th Anniversary Custom Sets (Wave 1)
mink66 replied to Gunner's topic in LEGO Star Wars
So good! So original! So well done! And so refreshing! I get tired of the same sets and vehicles rehashed over and over again. -
AWESOME NDLG80!!! I always wanted to build the Octan Ship and the Batmobile from The Lego Movie when the movie came out, but could never find enough source material back then. My Batwing has long been disassembled, but thank you for reminding me how incredible this vehicle looks in real life! You did an amazing job with these models! I always thought Lego really missed out on not producing these as official sets.

SB00601 AR-PROJECT (MOC AT-RT 501 version UCS)
mink66 replied to StarBricks's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Hi Mirko, will tomorrow be another big reveal? -
I don't think you'll get any "minifig-scale" vehicles in a 13.25" x 13.25" cube.

Great review monkypaws! I shared a lot of the frustrations you mentioned as well, except for the missing parts. All the parts were present in the batch I received. As you mentioned, the instructions could have benefited greatly from the use of subassemblies. I was also disappointed by the wing attachment technique, and as you can see in the video review they are quick to fail. I had to add some extra supporting structures under the fuselage and wings to make the model stable to display in "flight mode."

Finally got a chance to put this amazing ship together. Here is the Republic Bricks Version 1 of the Kom'rk Gauntlet Starfighter Mark 3. Awesome looking ship with lots of cool details. It has a front ramp, but no hallway for the drop bay doors to open, no rear ramp, and the cockpit can only fit two Mandalorians and Grogu. The middle fuselage does rotate so the wings could theoretically be positioned in the up and down position, but I have no idea how you could ever display it like that with the current build structure. Definitely not swooshable and there are some weak spots. It can be positioned in level flight mode with the help of a stand underneath to support the wings or in landing mode which still required a few modifications of my own to make it strong enough and sit level. At 1753 pieces it is definitely worth it for the coolness factor though. I'm satisfied. Thanks for the reply! Oh wow, you are correct! I never realized how huge these Gauntlet starfighters are. I would never expect Lego to produce such a huge UCS set, but I'm still surprised by the almost total lack of MOC's for this ship. Maybe the extra attention this ship is getting in The Mandalorian will inspire some of the master builders to work on a MOC.

Has anyone ever attempted to build a UCS style Mandalorian Kom'rk-class fighter/transport (Gauntlet Starfighter) like the one Bo-Katan uses in the Mandalorian? I've always loved the design of this ship. The recent system scale Lego Star Wars set pales in comparison to the 2012 Pre Vizsla set and it got me to wondering if anyone has tried a mini-figure scale version using lots of snot techniques, etc. I quick search on here, on rebrickable, and on google didn't result in anything beyond some different color versions for Darth Maul's Shadow Collective.

Stunning creation once again! It's magnificent!

****SOLD**** This is the custom U-project designed by Starbricks with the original instruction booklet now out of print. I used all genuine Lego new and used bricks acquired from Brinklink to build this huge Lego masterpiece. Mini-figure scale and tons of features and details throughout. No mini-figures are included. Instruction manual is in excellent condition. All stickers were meticulously applied and are very straight. Numbered tile plate is also included. Comes from a smoke free home and stored out of direct sunlight. The only differences from Starbricks originally recommended parts list is I used dark gray vs. black wagon wheels inside the engines and the red vs. black boat weight used inside the hull structure for even weight distribution and cannot be seen. These alternative colored pieces would be included in this set. Free one week shipping to anywhere in the continental United States. https://www.ebay.com/itm/165709346515?hash=item26950bf6d3:g:R~MAAOSwHiBjPMxb&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoO4YmtIFFtrlATZ9iGgOxP2bn9OXzetlxS70sWtCXRr9KvoW1lLvnZckkMaAR%2F%2B3xpekpIPcXFj0sOR2UzaRTt49MVw%2BqTsPbhJVEYCVY4MLju8BqMRKEz6bIZ0MGOn7rBLtLuIiQcvUIENFEqxpM3KuqqHdBCkEHPo8nbLMvOtCzf8KDu89vg1RxuOuBXj1yW6ZQ2ITgU12wdvmEwEGYZg%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR_rRuvb4YA
