  1. Very funny review! Come on you snowballing rebels!! I love the speeder, and the AT-AT driver. Not sure about Veers, he looks a bit miffed. Probably because his helmet's the wrong colour.
  2. Another top-notch review! Freeco... freezing cold... not surprised with the big gaps below the cockpit. Hope it has a good heater. Must get, if just for the figs. I've never seen the episode with this ship in, but it's a nice design.
  3. Great review! Clone Wars or EpIII? Who cares! Lego have done a great job here in making a set that would appeal to fans of either. It would fit quite nicely into my EpII collection. the new helmets.
  4. Nice review! I might just pick up this set, if only for the cool pieces; I didn't get one the first time round. Hate to say this to a mod and all, but your pics are a little on the large side!
  5. Thanks for the review! Which lego store did you get this from? I'm not overly sold on the Tie defender, but I'll probably pick one up to convert into a standard Tie (which amazingly I don't own). I'm with you on the sand blue, Swash Buckler, but grey will do fine; standard blue was a bit much.
  6. Ay Carumba that's amazing.
  7. Looks like my coffee table!! No wonder there are so many scratches. Great review. I didn't know this set was ever available in the UK; shame as I could do with Obi's starfighter.
  8. Fantastic pics /kimT. GG Starfighter's a tad ugly, hope they improve on the prelim. It doesn't look like it from the pic, but what's the chance the CTT will be compatible with the LAAT/c? Now that would be the icing on the cake.
  9. I always thought the AT-AT was developed by General Veers?? I don't have a source for this, I just remember hearing it way back in the days of OT. I guess 'canon' could have changed since then, knowing Lucas. Still, even if it is clone wars, I could do with another AT-AT. I 'allow' myself CW if it also appeared in the movies....
  10. Back in the beginning of my dark ages in about 1985 I but my 928 Space Cruiser (UK = Galaxy Explorer elsewhere), built, in a box with a lot of other classic space sets, some built, some not. That box has moved house several times since but, provided atmosperic disturbances haven't somehow affected it, it's still there. I hope.
  11. The headlight bricks have one advantage - the depth of the brick behind the 'front' stud is exactly the same as two plates (will try to post pic) which may be useful, although I've yet to use (or see) this in any MOCs. Still, I agree the new piece is not a moment too soon - I'm sick of random blue half-bushes visible through trans-clear plates
  12. Oh! I didn't notice the bus. Looks like the ever-unpopular BendyBus; nice MOC though! And yes, a close-up would be nice.
  13. I now have the mental image of a Chewie-sized Wampa having to stand on a box to hit the Taun-Taun on the head! That'd be cute, but not very realistic. Let's hope for a bigger one!
  14. [statistics nerd] The poll needs an option for zero; otherwise only people who have them can enter. This biases your study! [/statistics nerd] I am the proud owner of zero. If I have (say) two 1x2 plates stuck together, I use a larger plate (say 1x6) to separate them. But, having read this thread (and seeing the animation) I might just have to get me a couple!
  15. I've used LDD v3 a little over the last few days. It doesn't seem a whole lot better to me. There are good points; the ability to reduce the size of the bricks in the brick palette (so there are more on the screen at one time) is useful, for one example. However, the new virtual baseplate is distracting, and for some reason when I press E (the shortcut for dElEtE), a message flashes up saying something like 'all bricks are available from DesignbyMe' ot similar, and I have to use the icon to delete. A model that would cost about £10 from PaB was priced at £33. Anyone know where I can get MLCAD?
  16. Holy Cow man, that is fantastic! Probably the best modular building I've seen. Just another 23 of those, and you'd have a lifelike Harrods! Are there any features on the first and second floors? Also, I'm not sure what the body-builder torso is doing in the shop window, is it a swimwear display? If the promised official set is anything like this, I'm a gettin' it!
  17. Ah! So that's where I'd seen it. Anyone know what this ship is called?
  18. Maybe the brown ones are Bantha droppings, as in the Lego Star Wars: Original Trilogy video game! Great review, and I agree this is a great set, although I found the opening rear didn't line up perfectly with the main body (despite very careful building). The orange colour looked fab in 2007, but now everything seems to be orange...
  19. Hey, that's nice! Though I'm not sure about the mismatched engines; either both white or both dk blue would be fine (or even both grey). Otherwise, great job!
  20. Ay Carumba, that's amazing!! How do you have the time?? Where do you get the bricks??? How do you have room? (Goes and fiddles listlessly with pitifully small Lego collection...)

    VW Bulli

Looking good. There's an awful lot of SNOT going on there; does it make it quite fragile? Also, I take it those are stickers on the windscreen?? I tried to build a VW camper; yours is way better. I particularly like the 8-stud curved pieces at the front, and the spare wheel.
  22. Nice!! Looks very like the real thing, only a bit redder. But I guess you'd never get that number of bricks in sand red or orange-brown. Still, most impressive!

    Lego Reggae Band

Awesome shot! Looks incredibly realistic. I'm a bit worried about all the dislocated shoulders, but I guess there's no way to hold a trumpet otherwise. IS the trumpet a real lego piece?
  24. Let's see... when I enter these sorts of thread, personally I think it's fair only to consider the sets I own, but these are my best and worst: Best 8038 Battle of Endor It has a perfect mix of minifigs, vehicles and buildings, and the price seems unusually fair for SW. 7641 City Corner 7477 Wind Turbine 7635 4WD & Horse Trailer 7639 Camper Basically I'm a huge fan of Lego's 6-stud vehicles, so any of these could get my vote; I think the 4WD takes the prize. Worst I'm with Peppermint on the 8015 Assassin Droid BP. It isn't even particularly useful for parts. 7685 Bulldozer It looks nice, but it's stupidly large! Only really useful for terrorising Lego citizens, or for demonstrating the excess space in Lego Boxes Rufus
