The contest is now closed to entries. I'll get the voting thread up as soon as possible.

MOD NOTE To all entrants: please bear in mind that for your turtle to be considered for inclusion on the poster, the picture quality must be sufficient. Please avoid cellphone cameras, and use a tripod or stable surface for your camera. Ensure your lighting is good (daylight is best). Please keep any high resolution images - better still link to them on flickr if you use that. Julie has said that good quality digital renders may be considered. This does not include unrendered LDD files. Plain LDD entries will be disqualified. Thank you!
-
In case anyone wasn't joking with the earlier questions, I think tortoises are ok (if Peter Reid's examples are anything to go by!) Sorry, no. The winning turtles will be featured on an official poster, so LDD entries won't be of sufficient quality.

The Ipswich Brick Event (Queensland, Australia)
Rufus replied to Xyver's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
I too immediately thought you meant the Suffolk one! I've edited the title to prevent further disappointment. I bought my first SW UCS in Ipswich, Suffolk ... -
The EB Architecture Competition 2014 was held during this year's Eurobricks 10th Anniversary Event. See some of the fantastic entries in detail! Here are the entries for Cecilie, DFenz, Pandora and Rufus, Aredhel, L@go, Rolli, and Redhead1982 (shown in no particular order). Click each entry for to see the MOC in the Special LEGO Themes Forum! And do let me know if I've missed any!

Mystery solved... Except I bought my colour box direct from Shop@Home!

Computer problems: Quoting does not work
Rufus replied to legotrainfan's topic in Forum Information and Help
Which Browser are you using? I seem to recall problems with the quote function on one of the Internet Explorer versions. I'm moving this to Website & Forums ... where there is probably an existing discussion with which I'll merge it when I find it. Edit: There's a thread of Internet Explorer problems here; though nothing specifically about quoting issues. I'll keep looking. The solution to the other problems seems to be to enable Compatability Mode on IE for Eurobricks. -
Thanks everyone! They weren't public; try now.

Built between 1867 and 1871, the Royal Albert Hall of Arts and Sciences was commissioned by Queen Victoria and named in memory of the Queen Consort Prince Albert, who used to follow Freddie Mercury around, apparently. It was designed in the Italianate Style by Captain Francis Fowke and Major-General Henry Y. D. Scott, who was the very model of a modern Major-General, and cost £200,000 to build. Situated at the southern edge of Hyde Park in West London, the Hall is perhaps the most prestigious theatre venue in the whole of the United Kingdom. The annual Promenade Concerts, or Proms, have been held here since 1941, during which the playing of the National Anthem is the only time Britons are allowed to show any national pride whatsoever. Fun fact: The Royal Albert Hall is the British Standard LJ* unit of volume: as in, 'The LEGO Company produces enough plastic bricks annually to fill the Royal Albert Hall$,' much as 'the football pitch' or 'Wales' are the standard units of area. * LJ = Lazy Journalism $ I may have made this up. This is Pandora's and my entry into the Eurobricks Event Architecture Competition in Billund 2014. We came second! It's quite an intricate build with two separate rings of 1x4 hinge plates - 16 and 12 sides - producing the 'layer cake' structure. The inner ring houses vertically-mounted clippy hinges which form the slopes of the glass roof. This ring sits in the outer one on tiles: it isn't physically connected ... ... and can be removed, revealing ... A big hole! Still, at least now we know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall. It would be possible to create a semblance of interior seating, but we thought the model might be best used to store paperclips. As with any model of this tiny scale, you have to take some liberties with the details. There aren't nearly as many windows as there ought to be, but we figured if they can do that with the arches of the Leaning Tower of Pisa, then we can do it here. Here's the real thing to compare: Actually, the second ring probably ought to be a plate or two higher, but that's easily fixed. CopMike very kindly had a lovely tile printed for all the entrants: Somehow that really makes it; thanks Mike! Thanks for reading! We hope you enjoyed it. Pandora and Rufus flickr

You know, you're right - I built it wrongly. It didn't occur to me that they'd be put on the other way round. I prefer them the way I did them.- 228 replies

Review Review: 70816 Benny's Spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP!
Rufus replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thanks for the further replies! Sorry i haven't been able to respond fully recently. The ship is approximately 64 studs from the tip of the nose to the rear of the upper two engines. With the wings retracted, the lower engines protrudes a couple of studs further. So you could possibly use two of the old landing pad baseplates!- 228 replies

Rare LEGO 1960/70s Printing Stamp for set 140 (model #4)
Rufus replied to Cristina08's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Hi Christina, and welcome to Eurobricks! I can't help you with the stamp, I'm afraid, but I can help with posting images from flickr: Click the picture on your photostream. Then click the three dots on the far right ('More Actions'); select 'Download/All Sizes', then click 'View All Sizes', then select 'Medium 800' which is the maximum size permitted on this board. Right-click on the image, select 'Copy Image Location' (or similar). Post the URL between image tags, like this: [img=https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5567/14105457436_dca3cbe024_c.jpg] Hope that helps, and good luck with the stamp.- 10 replies

Trailer for 8258
Rufus replied to Mtx's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hi Johnplatten1990, and welcome to Eurobricks. Generally we discourage posting in old topics, as it pushes new content further down the page and makes it harder to navigate the forum. This sort of question is best asked via private message, which you'll be able to do once you've made 10 quality posts. Since the original poster is still active on EB and may therefore answer your question, I've let this be, but please try to avoid reviving old threads unnecessarily in future. Thanks, and enjoy the forums! -

Isn't flickr free to join? Brickshelf is poorly supported; and nowadays you get tonnes of storage on flickr for the minor inconvenience of a few adverts. Since this relates to picture hosting for posting on EB, I'm moving it to Website & Forums.
