  1. The McDonald Inn is a roadside establishment founded by Sir Ronald the McDonald. Cosmetically deformed in battle, Sir Ronald decided upon his retirement that he would do everything he could to give other warriors and travellers a comfortable and affordable place to rest. Thus, the McDonald Inn was born. And a closeup of Sir Ronald, himself: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/sly-pig/...nald-Inn/a6.jpg gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=224259 I was going to give it an interior, but the exterior took so long to complete that I'm just too tired. Hope you enjoy it anyway, though!
  2. Well, it's been a long time since I've done any MOCing, and an even longer one since I've updated my Book of Mormon series. I don't have too much left to do with it, though, so I started working on it again today in order to be able to take care of some other projects soon. Enjoy! gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=175128
  3. B-V-16E I haven't vigged in a while, but I just couldn't resist the urge to build a Joe Vig vignette on Friday the 13th. So, here it is: Joe walks under a ladder. :-P gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=210070
  4. BoM is short for Book of Mormon. Anyway, thank you all for your comments! It was interesting to see the different candle designs discussed in this thread; I'll definitely use them in different places. :-)
  5. Click the pic. ;-)
  6. I was finally able to sit down and build today. :-D gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=204933
  7. I was going to do a vig of Daisy running Myrtle down, but I was having a really hard time coming up with a good enough car for a vig. Woulda been nice, though, eh? Thanks for all your comments!
  8. Eight new figs for you all today, which is the most I've ever done in one sitting. The first five are a faction I created called the Flessians. Basically, their colors are black, white, and silver (same goes for their buildings--little or no grey), and all of them are fleshies. Flessian footsoldiers A berserker Paladin Their king (No name for him yet, lol) I had a little extra time, so I built two figs based off of characters from Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series. The gleeman, Thom Merrilin The warder, Lan Finally, I've added a long-overdue character to my King of the Hill gallery: Buck Strickland. Fans of the show will know what that money is for. ;-) Castle gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=178660 King of the Hill gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=176775
  9. I read F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby a few months ago and loved it, but have just now gotten around to vignettizing it. For those of you who haven't read it, it takes place in New York during the 1920s. Enter Gatsby The narrator, Nick, meets Jay Gatsby at one of the man's summer parties. A Gambler by Profession Gatsby takes Nick to lunch and introduces him to Meyer Wolfshiem, a gambler who rigged the 1919 Baseball World Series. I pictured Wolfshiem with a long beard, but since the book doesn't really say anything about the beard I imagined, I settled for a Danju head. The Man with the Yellow Car After his wife is run over and killed by a yellow car, George Wilson goes looking for the driver. Coincidentally, Gatsby is keeping the car in his garage for a friend of his--the real driver. This mistaken identity leads to Gatsby's death in his swimming pool, and Wilson kills himself on the scene. gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=199630
  10. lol, It was actually the cleanest grill piece I had in that color. Think of it as fog, or something. :-P I basically just added it in as filler. It adds to the creepiness of the vig, and the shininess draws people's eyes. Thanks for all your comments!
  11. Two vignettes today, and both of them are just simple things. I just wanted to try something with black and trans-green, so these are what I came up with: The Lurkers I while back, the members of Sly Piggery were joking that lurkers are like ghosts. And since we had a lot of lurkers at the time, a few of us laughed about the forums being "haunted." :-P The next vig is of a spirited game of Laser Tag. For those of you who haven't played, you basically wear a vest and shoot "lasers" at other people's vests. It's a blast sniping people from above. :-D Lurkers gallery Laser Tag gallery And sorry for the dark pics.
  12. Thanks for moving this, jipay! I already answered that question earlier in this thread. I tried building it without a mast, but it didn't look right. Also, it's good for a lookout; passenger safety is a prime concern. I'm aware of this, but there's gotta be variety, right? ;-) We've had some really bad storms come through in the past few days, but today the weather was good enough for me to finally get the interior shots. Enjoy! I also built a ladder out of rods and droid arms to get inside, but--obviously not thinking of the photography--I attached it to the bottom of the deck, which was removed to take pictures. :-$ Anyway, thank you all for your comments. They've all been helpful, as this is my very first ship. I certainly look forward to building my next one! :-D
  13. You know, I actually hadn't thought of that.... Well, until I finish thinking, just figure this is any time during the Castle era. :-P Maybe a little later on, though. Whatever works, I guess. I hope to be able to take the interior shots on Sunday. I'll post them here when I do.
  14. This guy only really appears once in the book, but he's one of my favorite characters so I just couldn't pass him up. :D gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=196561
  15. I tried building it without the mast, but it just didn't look right. Also, considering that this is a Castle MOC, a motor and lifejackets wouldn't fit in very well. ;-) I considered that, but put it here because it's a Castle MOC (they had ships, too :-P). But, more replies would be nice, and it would certainly help to have this MOC reviewed by veteran ship-builders, so feel free to move it to the Pirate forum. Thanks! :-D Thank you all for your comments. I look forward to building another ship sometime!
