  1. Theres pirate falls, which is pretty much just a standard theme park log flume, Lots of pirates dotted around it though. When I vistedit was in 1998 when pirates were no longer available, so there were no pirate sets to purchase. But strangely they had lego commercials on a loop in the gift shop including the pirate ones.
  2. That's the whole fort except for a rope bridge (at the same scale) round the back. The full tour also features the CC with firing cannons and a whole lot of pirate-in-cave scenes... God Bless, Nathan The ride has the caribbean clipper? Is it made of Lego? These pictures are excellent, not many pictures exist closer to the fort and I have never been to the Danish lego park. I have only been to the windsor park. As for the forts scale its obviously smaller. The jail cell at the back of elderado fortress has been removed (So tempted to call it fort sabre!). Its always good to see pirate resources like these detailing what lengths Lego went to promote the Pirate theme. Lots of the Imperial soldiers Flags aroudn the park.
  3. One last point to say, this set holds the largest amount of soldiers out of all the sub themes. No other sub theme holds as many as this set. So it also allows you to bolster your army.
  4. Are you planning showing any of your MOC'S?
  5. Thanks very much for putting this up, makes an excellent reference.
  6. Welcome Aboard! I must say that is one very nice fleet you have there, Only the one sea Hawke/ Caribbean clipper? Still they all look in excellent condition, Particularly the sails. Lego sails sometimes Have a tendency to fade, How do you keep yours in excellent condition?
  7. The clipper is a classic, the larger hull make for a much better ship. But if i say so all the non-pirate ships have disappointing cabins.
  8. Its wierd beause I remember them there, front and centre in the Uk ones, But all other ones have got rid of them. I will try to get to the bottom of this.
  9. Welcome Taloncard The ladybooks mainly carried on the main theme of Governor Broadside and the soldiers Vs Captain Redbeard, which was the main theme in the comic. I once had 'Captain Reardbeard's (captain roger?) Birthday' and 'The Royal vist'. It would be great if you could get a few scans of your sets! Since we are talking about the story thought that there seems a be a lack of consistant characterization between the comics (Daft thing to say about a childrens Set of books and comics, which are primarily there to sell more toys!). The differences being in the Lego pirates sets portray Redbeard as a go getting Scourge of the caribbean whilst in the Books he is a bit of an oaf. The same can be said of Broadside, he's proactive in the toy theme going so far as to take personal command of the clipper. In the books he's more likely to be found stuffing his face. *phew* Bit of a monologue there! I do remember wning a large Lego space A4 Size Book at one stage, Might there be a posibility of a pirates one?
  10. The Hornblower series give a good view of Royal naval life.
  11. Thanks for your help anyway Mr Phes, I shall endevor to continue my search.
  12. I like the pirates Theme the way it was thank you. Heck I thought the Indigo islanders were a step in the wrong direction
  13. Hi Sorry mods if this is the wrong place, feel free to move it! Recently Checking through PEERON's excellent catalogue scans, I was curious about a few things that did not seen to add up with my memories of the Pirates range in the United Kingdom. The catalogues on peeron are predominatley from the netherlands. So if anyone out there is fourtunate enough to have UK Lego catalogues from 1989, 1992 and 1993. then could you help me with these questions?> 1. The 1989 Netherlands catalogue has the pirates theme on 2 pages, I am sure that in the UK this was done on four pages? It is possible that I might have it confused with the 1990 one, that explains the story behind the range. 2. The 1992 range changed the soldiers to the imperial guard, However I am sure that the Govenor ship 'Sea hawke' (6271)survived into this year in the UK. 3. In 1993 UK catalogue also displayed 'Governors fort sabre'(6276) for the last time (I remember this because this is when I got the set!) Thanks for your help!
