About Me
Hi, I'm Skye, but I go by Aanchir here and on some other LEGO sites. My pronouns are she/her. I am autistic, transgender, and a lesbian.
I have a bit of a reputation for being quite vocal (and wordy) about tastes that don't always line up with AFOLs, but over the years I've become a pretty familiar presence here on Eurobricks. Among some people I'm even fairly well respected and considered a knowledgeable source about LEGO products and the LEGO color palette.
My first set was 6665 River Runners sometime around 1995, and I've been a strong fan of LEGO bricks ever since! My first online fan community was BZPower, originally a BIONICLE fan community, which I joined in 2006. I've been a very appreciative BIONICLE fan since the American launch in Summer 2001, and I was a fan of the Technic themes Throwbots/Slizer, Roboriders, Cyber Slam/Competition, and Speed Slammers before that.
For most of my life, I lived in Fredericksburg, Virginia with my parents and my two brothers. All of them but my mom are huge LEGO fans. We kept our LEGO collection in the basement, divided into bins and tiny drawers and sorted by shape and function. For about a decade, my dad and siblings were regular attendees at BrickFair Virginia.
My favorite themes tend to be character-driven action-adventure themes and constraction themes like LEGO Bionicle, Ninjago, Elves, and Monkie Kid. But I have an appreciation for older themes like Blacktron, Spyrius, Dragon Masters, and Aquazone, and appreciate the little easter eggs LEGO has included in sets and marketing materials paying tribute to these and other LEGO themes.
As of 2020, I am happily married to a beautiful wife who I met through another LEGO forum many years ago, and we currently live together in Canada where she is studying for a PhD in French literature. I'm very excited to see where the future takes us from here!
