Timeline15 Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 can we not have them be really big though? I can't build big atm, most of my parts are still covered in ash (long story). As for the idea that Gali might be azure... I'm not sure how I feel about that. Its not really a blue so much as a green in my eyes. I'd use it on toa of plantlife, maybe even air, but not water. I'm not sure how you see it as more green than blue. It's much less greenish than the classic Bright Bluish Green (teal/dark turquoise) from BIONICLE and Technic sets. In fact, it looks all the world like a solid-colored version of classic Transparent Light Blue, which the LEGO Group has taken advantage of in sets like Emma's Splash Pool, Tiger's Beautiful Temple, and Jungle Falls Rescue. TheBrickPal Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 (edited) Plus, in my opinion, azure is certainly a feminine-ish color (At least, according to LEGO, where it is used heavily in Friends). It WOULD make sense for a girl character like Gali. In addition, it looks a lot more like the "color" of real water (of course, from the reflection of the sky) than the constraction blue we have been accustomed to. I'd save the older blue for other characters, such as future incarnations of Surge and Jay, who take control of the element of lightning. On a totally unrelated note: Huw is allowing me to write a Classic LEGO Sets article for BIONICLE 2001 on Brickset. Check it out when it is published next week! I will definitely link it for those who want to see. Edited September 13, 2014 by Puffle Pal26 Quote
Chimaninja454 Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Do Pohatu use trans-yellow bones? Quote
Frozen Assasin Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Who knows ? I don't think so,because we didn't get such bones in HF (or did we ?). Quote
Chimaninja454 Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Who knows ? I don't think so,because we didn't get such bones in HF (or did we ?). Are it most likely tan bone pieces? Quote
Shakar Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Pohatu and the Stone Defender DO have tr. yellow bones, actually. I didn't realize it until someone pointed it out. Every Toa has transparent elements, except Tahu and Lewa. Quote

SneakySqeaky Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Why are we still speculating based on that one image? its a prototype for all we know the final colors could be drastically different. Look how different the gold mask is. This is kinda pointless you guys. I know we've got nothing else to go on but speculation based on one grainy blurry photo of a standee is pretty futile. I think we could better fill our time between now and the reveal discussing things we'd like to see in the theme in years/waves to come. That discussion was much more interesting to IMO. Quote
Clone 01354 Productions Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 ^Yeah, I just gave up trying to decipher the image. After seeing the drastic change that the Golden Mask underwent, I feel like these are not even real. For all we know (and hope), Pohatu will have brown and tan, rather than white. Or Gali will have trans-blue, or dark azure, or whatever. The parts we see are prelims, meaning that they just threw together a basic likeness of every character with parts already in existence. If they never made a tan Hero Factory piece, why would Pohatu have one in a prelim? And none of the masks are final, the builds are not final, the colors may not be final, the element names may not even be final! What we are going off of is a preliminary photo. This situation reminds me of other discussions about Lego Star Wars 2015: "Oh, in the prelim they are regular Stormies." "But they could be placeholders." "But they may not." We have nothing to go off of right now. We are examining the Toa built out of existing HF parts that likely will not make the final cut. They use placeholder colors, and pieces, and masks, and titles.......All we know is that Bionicle will return. I guarantee that when they are revealed, they will look nothing like they do in the picture. Quote
Mandate Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 The element names are probably final, actually. Those were actually leaked by retailers recently (and around the time we got the first pics). Quote

And there are trans-purple parts on the Earth sets, and Trans-Yellow on Stone sets. Do such parts already exist ? Nope. Does the SH chestpiece exist in gold ? Nope. Does the Hulk chestpiece exist in black ? Nope. There are plenty of obvious recolors on this picture, some elements can change, sure, but not as much as you'd want. Shakar Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 (edited) What Leewan said. It's one thing to say that some elements are going to change, of course they will, most Toa and probably even the Defenders don't have their final mask finalized and most Toa are missing their chest print (like back in 2012 with the summer Heroes). But look at past years' preliminary images (any Lego theme really), and you will find they also have the power to destro- ahem, and you'll see that aside from a few details that aren't done yet (which usually amount to, surprise, new moulds and printed elements) the sets don't change much. Gone are the days when we'd get really early prototypes like the Nuva with silver masks and Bohrok shields, Pewku the Magnificient Green Crab or Takanuva the Toa of Gold Legs. These days, due to one reason or another, we get near-to-final or even final shots of the sets. Pohatu is going to stay tan (that is tan, compare him to Kopaka) and Gali's going to stay titanium metallic. Saying that the pic is 100% to be trusted is naive and incorrect (because some stuff is obviously going to change, we know that), but saying that discussing on a large picture that shows most of the sets' details is futile is a pretty extreme thing to do. Also. Did you notice that there is some trans-purple bone pieces in Onua? Bohrok, give me a Krana! He does! He has tr. purple on his foreleg bones and on his shoulder shells. I don't get the Krana joke though. Besides the ice parts, I don't see any transparent element on Kopaka. Check his right leg bone. I can't see the colour on his left leg but I guess it's hidden by the shells. More proof, the Defenders share their colour scheme with the Toa of their element (well, aside from the gold armour), and the Ice Defender definitely has tr. light blue bones on her/his legs. Kalhiki Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Did anyone notice that the golden mask looks a lot like the mask Vultraz had? That's it! I knew it looked familiar, and now that you say it, yeah, it does. Well, the cheeks anyway. Bionicle reboot: Vultraz is the new Mata Nui and wears a crown. Quote
GK733 Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 There also have been leaked images when nearly nothing has been changed to the final product, for example: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/bbboy1997/bionicle/2008/2008_2.jpg Quote
Chro Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Plenty of people have pointed that out, though I doubt it's more than a visual similarity - the Mask of Scavenging was in no way a legendary or otherwise important mask, and making a storyline based around the alternate universe into which Vultraz was sent would be brilliantly creative, but extremely unlikely. Jasonified Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 I really hope we see another underwater era, like 2007. Of course, I'm not hoping for Barraki or Mahri (though that would be cool, it's extremely unlikely).. I'd just like some underwater themed sets. Quote
