wesker Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Episode VII's release shouldn't have any effect on the 2015 Summer wave. The only change I see happening is the 2016 Winter wave being released a month earlier in December rather than January. Quote
Spyderlord Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 With the news that Ep. 7 is being released in December 2015, LEGO is gonna have to change their release pattern for Star Wars. As of right now, 2014 is all good. January wave we already know, news of summer 2014 should be popping up soon. Then we have January 2015, which is the last chance for LEGO to give us sets based on the PT or OT before they begin focusing all their efforts on the new films. I wonder if we won't see sets in summer 2015, and just get a huge summer sized release in December. Episode VII's release shouldn't have any effect on the 2015 Summer wave. The only change I see happening is the 2016 Winter wave being released a month earlier in December rather than January. Well, this is news. I predicted a huge Episode VII-related wave for Summer 2015 if they maintained Spring/Summer release, but with this... They have a full year to catch up with strongly under-represented areas of OT. Clone Wars, we had our fair share (though Mortis arc might see an appearance and/or last Ahsoka-arc, I don't think that Coruscant Police Gunship would be a shot in the dark...), PT is exhausted with the upcoming wave, so I believe that in 2015 we might finally see the long expected Mos Eisley and Cloud City sets. And yes, I strongly agree that TLG would probably draw early the Winter 2016 wave Quote
BigJoe Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 (edited) You want to know what I think would be really cool. Is if they make some more sets with Senate Commandos and Senate Guards since there is a difference and all But thats my oppinion Plus some old republic starfighters and piots (unlike the striker class) would also be nice along with other units for old republic MOCS. oh ya and dont forget some Black Sun members and other crime lords. Thego Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 There is always a focus on vehicles, but classic scenes are always my favourite sets. I'd love a Cantina cutaway interior, a bit like Stark's Malibu Mansion. Heck, I'd take any number of OT scenes in this style. Quote
Tom Jurassic Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Kashykk Assault 1x Kashykk Tree with Catapalt Launchers, a Trap Net, a Rope Bridge, Secret Escape Route through the Trunk, and various aesthetical details, as well as Hologram Table from scene with Yoda. 1x Beachead which the Tree Attatches to with Water Baseplate and Beach Baseplate. Beach Baseplate features small fortification with Launching Blaster Turret, 1x Small Crabdroid Build. 2x Wookie Warriors, 1x 41st Elite Trooper, 1x Commander Gree, 1x Yoda, 1x Luminara Unduli, 4x Super Battle Droids. Steel Tiger Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 I agree with the Kashyyyk tree, and hope for a Wookie catamaran, MTT, and a Venator class Cruiser. Maybe even an Invisible Hand and a AT-UT anyone?? Quote

donbarca Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 how about making the jedi temple a system set like jabbas palace/rancor pit? top level high council room and war room - yoda or windu, two exclusive jedi couple of temple guards, perhaps palpatine doublesided face, normal/sith lower level archives and holocron room - jocasta nu, rare jedi master, cad bane and holocron droid (not really a mini fig) offcourse it would be awesome if TLG would make the piece count a little higher.. jabbas palace!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! fooled us on that one but i still kind a like it:) is this the worst idea ever or what do you guys think. i know ucs would be ideal but in my mind at least it would be off the charges piece wide to make it complete. i would buy the system set i have purposed:) Quote

Something of a Taj Mahal for SW theme. It's too grandiose of a building for anything but the UCS scale, and besides, the structure of the temple is such that it would be very difficult to build the features you mentioned while preserving the look of the temple as a whole. On the other hand they could easily do the features you described separately as smaller sets. Edited November 11, 2013 by Spyderlord Quote
Robianco Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 ROTJ has been well looked after in the last 18 -24 months... Ewok Village, Jabbas Palace & Rancor, Skiffs, Sail Barge, UCS Imperial Shuttle, A-Wing, B-Wing UCS... pretty much the whole thing that wasn't already looked at as the Endor Imperial base was already a pretty good set and there's a ton of smaller Ewok based sets for Endor. For ESB Hoth has been hammered except for maybe a really good AT-AT as discussed previously. The last Slave 1 is a nice set and the UCS version is obviously part of the rumour mill. For ANH The Death Star UCS is still on the shelves (this also covered the ROTJ era too) and we've had X-Wing and Tie sets as well as a pretty good Falcon (7965) and recently the fantastic Red Five. So for me that leaves Tatooine in the ANH era (Sandcrawler, Lars family farm, Mos Eisley) as well as Yavin IV. ESB is screaming out for Dagobah, Cloud City... and definitely a Cloud Car with new pilot. A previous post commented about getting Leia in Bespin dress with the Cloud car to leave Bespin Escape Leia for the main Cloud City set. Lobot has been released and the Fett we have now is pretty much spot on. Hopefully along with the treasure trove of figs such as Lando and a couple of versions of the Bespin Guards and Ugnaughts we'll get a little sack for Chewie to carry C-3PO in parts on his back. I've always wanted to have each of the SW figures I had as a kid replaced with Lego versions. Maybe a Blue Snaggletooth as an exclusive fig? Quote

And yes, I strongly agree that TLG would probably draw early the Winter 2016 wave I just looked at the list of all Clone Wars sets released to date and I'm afraid I'll have to come back on my estimate of eventual Mortis sets; as it happens TLG has so far released only vehicles from CW, not a single structure set, so I guess Mortis is off the table. Which is a real shame, potential for amazing minifigures coupled with some LoTR-esque structures would make for outstanding sets, except that marketing-wise, that arc's visibility is insignificant Ok, Mortis arc has that rather pale shuttle the Jedi used to get there, but I can hardly imagine releasing all the great minifigs with just that one set. But seriously, don't you guys think that Son and Daughter in their animal shapes would make for terrific special (Wampa-like) molds? So it leaves us with probably another vehicle from the last Ahsoka-arc to go with Coruscant Police Gunship and that would probably close the Clone Wars sets Quote
donbarca Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 i just dont see TLG making the temple. the piece count would be extremely high and i dont think kids would want it. because of the lack of play features. dont think lego will replace their 400 dollar death star with something that will sell only to AFOL´s...... Well, truth be told, I don't think that if Death Star had a "normal" run, it would sell to too many kids with that price tag. I think that 400-mark sets are designed with AFOL community as a primary target group in mind. But it is a one-of-a-kind set, so it tapped to the kids market as well and it doesn't lend itself to the fair comparaison. But if you take the SSD as a reference, I believe that Jedi Temple would top its sales as an AFOL-oriented set. Who wouldn't want to see a marvel like Jedi Temple on a prominent position in the living room?! (ray-shielded from angry wife ofc ) Edited November 11, 2013 by Spyderlord Quote
donbarca Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 i totally agree with you it would be freakin awesome. i just dont see them making a set that big and with such a limited group of buyers... for the kids it is not a necessarity and we must be honest it is not as iconic in general everything else that has been made ucs so far. hence the idea of the jabbas palace/rancor pit like temple. dont see the problem with the shape of it. jabbas palace is closed on one side and open on the other thats what gives it the playability. only problem i see is price per piece which seems to me is going only up. it seems to me people have become so mini fig obsessed that TLG can get away with limited detailing and more important room for those mini figs. perhaps they should do something in between like the ewok village. i just really want that temple:) all those jedi need a place to go after they beat up all them clankers. so i would buy either. Robianco Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 (edited) I'm solely an OT and EU with Lego although I do quite like the Clone Wars as an animated series (never that keen on the figure face designs though). I think the Jedis lost a lot of their mystique in the PT and the portrayal of Anakin almost ruined Vader for me. That said a Jedi temple itself is a cool thing. If not the one on Coruscant there's always the temple on Yavin for the final trilogy sets? Luke as Grand Jedi Master with Mara Jade at his side? Jacen and Jaina Solo as apprentices? Ben Skywalker? Can you hear me, Lucas? Don't try and @!@?! this up from the sidelines!!! Edited November 11, 2013 by Robianco Quote

Spyderlord Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Yea, this thread is filled with so many accronyms and abbreviations that following it becomes impossible. They are fairly straightforward if you are a fan of Star Wars, but let me give you some help with most commonly used ones: OT- Original Trilogy PT- Prequel Trilogy EU- Extended Universe (books, comics, video games, all materials pertaining to Star Wars not covered by the movies) ANH- A New Hope ESB - Empire Strikes Back RoTJ - Return of the Jedi TPM - The Phantom Menace AoTC - Attack of the Clones RoTS - Revenge of the Sith TCW - The Clone Wars (long play cartoon released in 2008) CW - Clone Wars (Cartoon Network animated series that ran 2008-2013 and were discontinued when Disney purchased Lucasfilm) Then SW Lego-oriented ones: UCS - Ultimate Collector Series MF - Millenium Falcon (it's a matter of great debate if it's spelled with one 'l' or two ) SSD - Super Star Destroyer (aka. Executor, Vader's flagship) DS - Death Star ISD - Imperial Star Destroyer CC - Cloud City (although less frequently used abbreviation) IS - Imperial Shuttle And finally: TLG - The Lego Group I hope this helps a little, I understand your confusion, I felt pretty much the same way when I first joined these forums. If I omitted something, feel free to ask. Welcome to Eurobricks! Quote
