January 4, 201114 yr hmm dunno if there is an ipad app but you could use it for larger MOCs or kits. Didn't think about trying my ipad too! All iPhone apps can be installed on ipad too, then 2x to fill the screen. Something to try tonight me thinks :D

Im so jealous of the great scenery you had to work with- and share your frustration you didn't have longer to take more shots, but you got some great photos from the time you had though. Nice shot with the iPod distorteme- have a play round, I always find that a longer exposure gives some nice results depending on your camera having changeable settings. Maybe try a lower angle to shoot from as well, gives the figs a better sense of scale. All the apps can be used on the iPad as well, ive been playing round with mine for lighting, but its a bit bigger and heavier so not quite as useful for lego shots. Good for vehicles and larger toys though, but to be honest not found it as good as the trusty old iPod touch

The iphone/ipod can light up large objects but I think the ipad would be easier. For example, here is the biggest Transformer toy, Fortress Maximus. He stands at about 53.3cm.

Bit off topic I know but relevant in terms of lighting tips - Heres one of my favourite shots- Ashley Wood's Bertie, round 14in tall and just lit with my iPod touch on a slow exposure. Heheh yeah its been proving a lot harder than I thought it'd be to judge the photo comp Me and fenris have a plan in motion the try and narrow down our choices to a top 3... Its so tough, so many great entries And yeah I'd be happy to do an article for the blog, as I've said before im really a low-tech amateur photographer and be glad to offer any tips I can to help people out with thier shots. You can get some great results with some fairly simple set-ups, you really don't need expensive equipment etc..

Im trying to get my fiancee to borrow her company's ipad. we borrowed it before but this was before I even tried lighting with an iphone.

January 5, 201114 yr Nothing to get worked up about. got impatient with lighting but wanted to show off some figs I legoed. Mandalorian BP makes for a nice Jango as people have mentioned. Here is my attempt at the CW Deathwatch leader Pre Visla. I know he has a more samurai sword hilt and grip but I dont like the idea of simply painting a ninja/samurai blade black. It is technically a light saber in the cartoon. So here is a light saber with black blade. Modified my R2D2 with rotating head. tried making capes with scrapbook paper. I scanned my 8097 Slave 1 Boba Fett cape, traced the cape in photoshop, then printed it out on a dark blue piece of scrapbook paper. it has a slight texture to it but the paperweight is nice and sturdy.

I'll have to try that for myself. KimT, the hardest part is cutting out the neck post holes and the small fold hole. Luckily I have a craft paper punch. It looks like a tool punch but has an interchangeable tip and cuts holes rather than makes a impression. It comes with three tips. the large and medium are perfect sized for the capes.
