Garmadon Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Finally got another build up! (click on the picture to go to the topic) Also, here's a micro I built a few days ago - it's not for BoBS (at least not yet! - I might make it the nemesis of my captain sometime though! ), but since it's pirate I thought I'd share it here: Inspired by Blackdeathgr's MRCA result which had one of these hulls (probably the smallest ship possible with a prefab hull! ) with a black sail on it - and my experience building a larger ship really helped out with this one a lot! TitusV Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 That's a lovely ship, with great parts-usage Quote
Kolonialbeamter Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Wow, Garmadon, that sail-row-boat ship is huuugely impressive Give us moooaaar of this to comment on! Quote
Garmadon Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Thanks guys! @KB, will this do (I do have some more pics of the other one I'll post before too long hopefully though!)? (Picture is the link again!) And congrats to Captain Braunsfeld and Alberto de Pontelli on your new post as the mayor of said settlement! Quote
halixon Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 [ESL Vs Mardier] Eslandolan Prisoners [ESL Vs Mardier] Eslandolan Prisoners | Is now up! I also carry sad news. This is the last build i'll be posting for quite some time. I've decided, and found that my other hobbies are requiring more attention, and though School is slowing down, especially with my last day on the 25th, i still have other stuff in real life. I will definitely be returning when Guilds of Historica's Book III launches, but until then, i'll be relatively silent, other than giving CC. Let us all go in good fortune! Quote

As i also commented on your MOC Windusky, i wish you have a great relaxing period so that you fill your batteries and broaden your imagination. After all, it's summer, i.e. more time under the sun and by the sea/river/lake/pool (or whatever you guys have there). We cant guarantee though that by your returning, Eslandola wont have become a Mardier protectorate Inspired by Blackdeathgr's MRCA result which had one of these hulls (probably the smallest ship possible with a prefab hull! ) with a black sail on it - and my experience building a larger ship really helped out with this one a lot! On the happier subject now: Thanks that i was able to inspire someone since i feel i always take/be inspired from you guys, regarding your awesome building skills! And so you know, i am totally stealing (stealing someone else's plans that were initially inspired by the thief's plans... ) this ship design! She is going to be a jewel on my very limited LEGO space on the bookcase. Asking for your permission ofc Quote

Elostirion Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Garmadon, that miniship is just fantastic, because you know what? I didn't even realise it's a miniship at first and second glance. Truly inspiring. Quote
Maxim I Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 (edited) Are you all ready for the next chapter in Eslandolan history? It started already when the Eslandolan powerholders came together in the "Prince of Stedor". Click on the picture to read it all! Edited April 25, 2016 by Maxim I Quote
Garmadon Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Sorry to see you leaving, Windusky, but I hope you can be back before too long! ...On the happier subject now: Thanks that i was able to inspire someone since i feel i always take/be inspired from you guys, regarding your awesome building skills! I am actually keeping mine built (at least for right now) too, and for pretty much the same reason (and that it doesn't use hardly any pieces)! Garmadon, that miniship is just fantastic, because you know what? I didn't even realise it's a miniship at first and second glance. Truly inspiring. Thanks Elostirion! That's what I was going for, so I'm really glad to hear it worked! I hope that we'll be seeing a lot of ships in this scale here in BoBS in stories and builds! Quote
Captain Dee Posted April 28, 2016 Posted April 28, 2016 Garmadon, that micro-scale rowboat-ship is incredible. It's without question the best ship I've ever seen built on a rowboat hull. The lantern looks out of place though; it would be gigantic at that scale. Any chance of some detail pics? Quote
Sir Stig Posted April 28, 2016 Posted April 28, 2016 Garmadon, that micro-scale rowboat-ship is incredible. It's without question the best ship I've ever seen built on a rowboat hull. The lantern looks out of place though; it would be gigantic at that scale. Any chance of some detail pics? You mean like on Queen Anne's Revenge? Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 And congrats to Captain Braunsfeld and Alberto de Pontelli on your new post as the mayor of said settlement! Oh, yes, thanks. A lot of stuff has happened. (and I am waiting to see how the Stubborn Stern has performed in April ) Quote
Capt Wolf Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 A gathering of MCTC officials at the governor's mansion in Weelond... Quote

Garmadon Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Great builds guys, and way to close the month off with a bang, Capt. Wolf! Garmadon, that micro-scale rowboat-ship is incredible. It's without question the best ship I've ever seen built on a rowboat hull. The lantern looks out of place though; it would be gigantic at that scale. Any chance of some detail pics? Thanks Captain Dee! Due to the requests, I'll go ahead and make a topic for it pretty soon(ish), as I have a few more pictures I was planning on uploading anyways! And about the lantern - my younger brother (who likes his ships looking like this, which he built not too long ago) got on me for not having a lantern, Jolly Roger, or aftcastle on my larger ship, so I went ahead and included most of those here! So yes, Sir Stig is right that it is (partly) inspired by the Queen Anne's Revenge Quote
gedren_y Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 My first freebuild for this month is up: Lifting Spirits at Tragian's Stage Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 I've been adding chapters to the Ballooning-episodes in Pontelli: The "Spirit of Eslandola" (sequel to "it flyeth") [ESL-FB2] Crawling from the Wreckage [ESL-FB3] How to Steer (Comic) ...and now it is time to move to different aspects of Eslandolean life! Garmadon Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 A few more builds from me: The Quest for the Fountain of Youth Part I, Striking the Deal Part II, The Captain's Boat And Part VII, The Printer's Shop Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 @Garmadon: The pictures are great - what do you use as blue background? Quote
Garmadon Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 @Garmadon: The pictures are great - what do you use as blue background? Thanks Captain B! It was just a largish sheet of light blue paper we (Kai, I believe) got for the purpose at Walmart (or rather, the branch of Walmart they have down here ) Quote
Phadeout Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Do you "touch it up" in photoshop afterwards then - the gradient is so smooth I always assumed it was photoshop. Quote
