GoH Posters - Work In Progress

Any suggestions as to what should go on our GoH promotional posters?

We're looking for 20 or so builds from each guild for a total of 5 posters; one for each guild and one overall. If you have suggestions we'd love to see them!

Please post below with a link to the build's topic and a picture of the build.

Soccerkid, LittleJohn, and myself will act as what-do-you-call-it (poster committee? ) for this stage of the process. I.e. we will make the decisions as to what goes onto the posters and what doesn't. (If the two of you don't mind. It was sort of your idea, so you've been drafted. )

We will ask for comments on our rough drafts and the final posters will of course be presented to the GoH leaders for approval.

The plan is for me to do the actual poster editing work; though if anyone else wants to volunteer that would be great.

The goal will be to have these done before the start of Book III. Well, I have a feeling that might be a while, so we may be a bit early. But anyways!

I have a few thoughts/ ideas for the poster. First, maybe you should try to limit it to only a few( around 1 or 2 or maybe 3) builds maximum per person, so that there is more of a variety of styles and representations than just like the top 10 or 15 builders in GoH.Also, it might be a good idea to includes one or two smaller/ more mediocre builds (like still really good builds, just not insane crazy awesome builds) so that people who think about joining are not completely intimidated.

Anyway these were just some thoughts I had, and I will nominate some builds later.

Theres too many to pick from but i agree that we shouldnt give too much exposure to only one or two builders. Dc, legonardo, zc, gunman and gideon should all have one. Even though they could fill the poster by themselves. Maybe have it so theres one for each year for each guild.

Update sorry if i missed any other builders out, i know there are more quality builders out there.

LordDan does have a good point though about how big, mindblowing MOCs can be intimidating. In fact, after going through so many of them, I found myself wondering how I could ever shine in a community like that. That was just a mood, I'm over it!

Also, to emphasize the role-playing element, maybe it would be nice to have some vignette sized sigfig scenes?

On my search, I found a cringeworthy treehouse build, about 5 years old now. Then, I found out that it was made by... soccerkid6!? Oddly comforting to find out that he too, once (in a quite recent past even), made simple creations.

Go check out the Mitgardian thread, and you will find that even he smarted small

Small builds can be every bit as awesome as big builds, maybe not as jaw dropping, but still beautiful. I definitely want to have a good smattering of those in the posters.

I am a fan of what Cable said-maybe one build per builder..max 2? So that there is a wide representation of building styles among the posters.

Why not also let each guild have a vote for one of the builds that gets shown? ie avalonians get to pick one of there 4 or 5. Maybe each guild leader could organise that?

My choice is this.

Just because its not a castle or blacksmith or something we normally see. Plus we defo need one from Derfel Cadarn, as his builds have probable attracted more people here than most.

After months of strenuous exertion on the part of your overworked poster committee  (i.e. Soccerkid, Little John, and myself) I'm back... and with four posters, no less!

If you have a suggestion, we'd be glad to consider it AFTER you've spent some time thinking about it, please. 
And of course there are lots of great builds that didn't make it; but that's just inevitable.
And finally, a list of the builders will be posted along with the final versions, whenever those are ready.
