Jipay Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 I'm participating, but I have one question : why aren't we going to legoland village ? It's just some meters from the parc, and has every accomodation needed (ok, I admit, I really want so sleep in a pirate decorated room )
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted February 18, 2009 Eurobricks Emperor Posted February 18, 2009 Holodoc: alex 54 --> try: alex54 arnaud --> Can't find this name in the "have to gather names thread", do you have a link? fisherman jopie --> Same question kippie0001 --> try: Kippy0001
ApophisV Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 I don't know if I signed up, but in that case I have to sign off again. I am completley uncertain about my schedules this spring... If I have some spare time on my hands then I will try to come over for a day or two and sleep at my dad's home then. But that'll happen kinda sontanously then!
Holodoc Posted February 18, 2009 Author Posted February 18, 2009 Holodoc:alex 54 --> try: alex54 arnaud --> Can't find this name in the "have to gather names thread", do you have a link? fisherman jopie --> Same question kippie0001 --> try: Kippy0001 Thank you Bonaparte, my emperor! PM send to alex. I´ve got the names from the thread you mentioned. 1st post. 3rd and 10th entry. @ kippy001: Of course you´re still invited and we are happy to have you around! If you want to stay with us, please let me know, the rooms are not booked yet. Please look at these two threads to know what we are exactly doing on the events: *click1* *click2* If you have any further questions, let me know! Ich kann es Dir auch auf deutsch erklären... @ Jiipay: I checked the website of legoland village. It seems to be made primarily for families. The price point is a lot higher than at Kirchenbauerhof! We would have to pay at least 250€ for two adults... But as soon as I know the exact number of eventees, I will phone them to ask for special offers. Although I still doubt that legoland village with discount is cheaper than Kircehnbauerhof. @ApophisV You´re always welcome, buddy!
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted February 18, 2009 Eurobricks Emperor Posted February 18, 2009 I´ve got the names from the thread you mentioned. 1st post.3rd and 10th entry. Ras, can you let us know where the names Fisherman Jopie and Arnaud come from? You've added them in the first post of your "Have to gather names thread", but those users don't exist and nobody with a similar username posted in that thread stating he/she would come to the event.
Wouwie Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Boner, I think he means these 2 names: It would be nice to go there, maybe together with the 1000steine folks?!So I am quite sure that we will come: Johan (myself) aka JopieK Arnoud (my brother) aka Arnoud Johan (my cousin) aka Fisherman Jopie The Dutch have some national holidays around 30th of April (queensday) and the first week of May. Hmm seems to be that I'm becoming forgetful, I already posted that.
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted February 18, 2009 Eurobricks Emperor Posted February 18, 2009 Thanks, mystery solved. I guess the Doc has PM'd JopieK, so as soon as he responds we'll know if these need to stay on the list.
Ras 74 Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 "Doc", note me and Quarry and CM will now stay 4 nights. Will arrive wednesday evening. I´m really so thriled over this years event -Ras-
Dfenz Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 @ Jiipay:I checked the website of legoland village. It seems to be made primarily for families. The price point is a lot higher than at Kirchenbauerhof! We would have to pay at least 250€ for two adults... The eurohotel across the motorway has quadruple rooms that will take 4 adults and according to booking.com (via tripadvisor.com) these rooms are less than €100 per night per room (total for two nights = €195. Other websites offer the quadruple rooms at slightly higher nightly rates. Might be an overflow option. David
Holodoc Posted February 19, 2009 Author Posted February 19, 2009 The eurohotel across the motorway has quadruple rooms that will take 4 adults and according to booking.com (via tripadvisor.com) these rooms are less than €100 per night per room (total for two nights = €195. Thanks for the info David, BUT the rooms at Kirchenbauerhof are 60-70€ per room/per day for 4 persons. I think we go for these... But I will have the eurohotel rooms in mind for the "overflow option". "Doc", note me and Quarry and CM will now stay 4 nights. Will arrive wednesday evening. That makes me rethink my arrival. Maybe I´ll be there on wednesday as well...
Jipay Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 K doc, I think I'll book a room at the village on my own then. I promessed my GF we'd go there so now I have to comply (we are really anthousiastic about the decorated room, and since we do go to the park often, that's the only place we haven't been yet). I shall be there from friday afternoon until sunday morning. Do you guys know if there's any place to eat nearby ? I know that some time ago, yoda and I did find a pizzeria around, but is there anything more ?
Holodoc Posted February 19, 2009 Author Posted February 19, 2009 Do you guys know if there's any place to eat nearby ? I know that some time ago, yoda and I did find a pizzeria around, but is there anything more ? This is the map of the village: I don´t know if the restaurant is good or bad though. For other places to eat, you will have to go a bit (by car), because the legoland is outside, mmmh everything... The pizzeria you wrote of was close to Kirchenbauerhof (wich was 5 minutes by car from Legoland). UPDATE: I checked the Kirchenbauerhof website again: We have a problem! NO rooms are available for 20th and 21st of may! So either we look for a different place or we start somewhere different and get back to Kirchenbauerhof (I really liked that place you know...) on friday! The Eurohotel is cheaper than I saw on first sight! And it
Dfenz Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 The Eurohotel is cheaper than I saw on first sight! And it?s a lot closer to the park (est. 5 minutes by foot). They offer 3 and 4 persons-rooms for 60⦣8218;? per night/per day (only overnight stay - no meals) from 20st-24th of may. Who needs Breakfast? This is a sincere question. Quick suggestions are appreciated! In addition to the Eurohotel there is an Axxe Motel a little bit down the motorway. Its a motorway truck stop but when I stayed there previously I found the rooms perfectly adequate and it was cheap. I ended up there one time when the Eurohotel had a function and they transferred me to the Axxe. I don't know whether they do quadruple rooms. It had restaurant faciilties also. Might be worth checking out also if you're stuck but as far as location goes the Eurohotel is much closer to the park which as you've noted is a distance from Gunzburg itself. On the food front there is a restaurant immediately beside the Eurohotel which looks quite decent but I haven't used it. Breakfast in the Eurohotel can be purchased separately if anyone's feeling hungry - I think it was €8 per head. I recollect that the breakfast in the Axxe was superior and especially good value for guests of the motel. Anyway, a word of warning. The Eurohotel is not a particularly large hotel so rooms might get booked up quickly. David
Capt. Kirk Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 (edited) What dates exactly? I suppose it will be FRI-SUN? Hi Holodoc, About the exact date... Zorro better can answer that. Because he's my personal event-planner... Seriously, I don't know that because I hitch hike with them (Zorro, Bonaparte, ?). So I adapt me to them. If they stay 3 days then I also stay 3 days. If you need transportation aid, please PM me or post here. Maybe I can work something out for you. That is very kind of you and respect... but normally I can get a lift from Bonaparte. Quick suggestions are appreciated! I like to help with this problem but I'm not familiar with the surroundings... sorry. Edited February 20, 2009 by Capt. Kirk
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted February 19, 2009 Eurobricks Emperor Posted February 19, 2009 The Eurohotel would be fine for me as it seems close to the park. And we can all be together in one hotel if we take that one (including JP and his GF). We can easily buy some breakfast ourselves or eat something in the park. That's not a blocking problem for me.
Quarryman Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 I agree with Bonaparte here, breakfast included isn't necessary. And if it's both cheap and close to the park that sounds great too.
voxel Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Hi! Please replay to this thread until february 21st! Unfortunately, I am out because I will have to work that specific weekend.

DJ Force Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 I hereby confirm another participant. My sister.
Captain Green Hair Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 K doc, I think I'll book a room at the village on my own then. No i can sleep in any hotel, barn or whatever, i'll have my black and chrome baby with me, so i'll get around easily. And yes, i do like to have breakfast.
alex54 Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Well, I'm a bit late, but I confirme that Mr and Mrs Jipay and me will be here on Friday late afternoon to Sunday and we will go to the same hotel than you. And I'm for the breakfast. Wow, my firts LEGO event!
Dennimator Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 (edited) Hi, I confirm that I am coming together with my mum and my little sister 21-24 May (three nights). We will enter the park three or four times, depending on when we arrive and when we leave. It is Ok that one person shares our room if he/she wants to. We can also split in different rooms, if only boys want to have one room and girls in another. Who will tell us which alternative it will be? And how do we get the bookings confirmed? Do we have to book our entrance tickets to the park now, so we do not risk them to be sold out (as they were in Copenhagen last week ) What is the name and address of the hotel? (The hotel doesn´t seem to be 100% confirmed according to the discussion board.) How/when do we pay, in advance, at the arrival or when we check out from the hotel? Thanks! Oh, and no breakfast for us. Edited February 21, 2009 by Dennimator
Holodoc Posted February 21, 2009 Author Posted February 21, 2009 Now i want to sleep in a pirate decorated room as well. Why did I expect such a comment? You can bring some pirate sets to decorate you room instead. Well, I'm a bit late, but I confirme that Mr and Mrs Jipay and me will be here on Friday late afternoon to Sunday and we will go to the same hotel than you. Note that Jipay prefers to stay in the Legoland village. We are in the Eurohotel. (see map below) Who will tell us which alternative it will be? And how do we get the bookings confirmed? I´ll take care of the booking as soon as I know the number of eventees and the dates they´re attending. (Just one person missing) Do we have to book our entrance tickets to the park now, so we do not risk them to be sold out (as they were in Copenhagen last week ) You don´t have to book the entrance tickets right now. They are NEVER sold out at a Legoland park. Where have you been exactly in Copenhagen??? I managed to get a couple of those: 20% off every single (32,50€ -> 26€) or two day (not advised) entrance fees! After the first day you may change the one day ticket into an annual pass (paying the rest). That helps to save at least some money. Official statement: "By the way: one more top tip for all those who cannot make up their minds at once: if you visit LEGOLAND Deutschland with a normal 1-day ticket, you can then deduct the ticket price from the purchase price of an Annual Pass bought on the same day!" The official Legoland website also offers to renew your annual pass. Normally an annual pass is 55€, online it´ll cost 45€ to renew it. Find your own cheapest way. Or if you have other oportunities to lower the fees, let us know! What is the name and address of the hotel? (The hotel doesn´t seem to be 100% confirmed according to the discussion board.) EUROHOTEL GÜNZBURG Spielplatzstraße 6, 89312 Günzburg, Deutschland Tel.: +49 (0) 8221 206 66 - 00 Fax: 0049 8221 20666 - 100 Email: info.guenzburg@azimuthotels.eu (don´t you ever follow the links I provide? ) How/when do we pay, in advance, at the arrival or when we check out from the hotel? As I believe I have to pay the hotel in advance, I ask you to do so as well. The easiest way is paypal I think - and it is how we made it last year. I´ll tell you the fees and you´ll send me the money. Stay tuned for this. First summary of beds needed WED-THU: 5 members (CM, Ras (+1?), Quarryman, KimT, Morten) THU-FRI: 7 (Holodoc+1) FRI-SAT: 18 (+ Alex 54, Bonaparte, Capt. GH, Denimator +2, DJ Force +2 1/2 , Zorro3999, Capt. Kirk) SAT-SUN: 19 (+ Kippy001) + 3 attending, but not living with us: Jipay + GF and Dfenz ...making a total of 16 members and 22 eventees. Yahooo! For all the eventees, here´s a map which shows how close we´ll stay this time: Note: The satellite pic is quite old - the park isn´t completed and the streets have changend at some places . The direct way is less than 1 km (if we could fly). Now I need our special member not shown in the list above to decide when he will join us and I´ll book the rooms. For the special "who is accommodated with whom?" - stay tuned. Event ON!
Zorro Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Looks good Holodoc, now I finally have all the intell I need!
Jipay Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Actually Alex's answer comes from a discussion that we had after I posted here. We'll stay at the same hotel as you guys, it'll be much more fun this way
