Hello everyone once again,

With the EBCTC Voting Booth (Eurobricks Staff Category) taking for an unknown voting extension, I will like to share with you my orignal planned EBCTC entry. Many builders whom have participated in this contest, asked where is my entry, what is the yellow castle rumor all about? Now, I will reveal one of my planned mocs but was never complete... :cry_sad:

Orignally, before EBCTC was started, this moc was built beforehand, as a staging platform to inspire builders to start building their Classic Town scene. However, the first batch of pictures that are taken much earlier, was used for EBCTC highlights at various stages. I believed some of you are wondering where did those pictures come from.

Yes, it was part of my planned mocs, The Yellow Fortress, which was inspired by the Yellow Castle and the Carnival sets back in the 1980s. This WIP moc was actually left on my table for a few days, and met with an accident. I won't really elaborate on that, except that it's now in bit and pieces, waiting for further resortation.

Now, I shall share with all of you, my first stage of my WIP Yellow Fortress, and will like to seek honest and constructive feedbacks, if any to improve my building skills much further so I could plan and finish up on what I have started, few months ago. The restoration won't be immediate but I hope I can finish on what I have started. For now, I will share some of the images which are taken earlier.

This is the image of the first stage, of my Yellow Fortress.

WF: It's great to see you bringing back old yellow castle to Retro-Classic Town. I think you should have entered this nice creation into the contest.

In terms of some constructive suggestions to make your already clever creation better, I think it could benefit from incorporating more of the building components from the old Yellow Castle set. I applied some of the building techniques when creating Grimwell Manor.

Some examples:

- The addition of some 1x2 slit windows.

- Arches above the entry.

- Perhaps a classic castle tower attached to the wall. It would add dimension and extra detail.

- Shield decals from Classic Castle or the addition of some shileds for decoration (EDIT: just noticed that your last picture has a few shields - nice).

Lastly, perhaps adding a flower stand, a phone-booth, a bus stop, or other additional structure would add some additional interest.

Overall; however, very nice; and as I said above, it's great to see you bringing back Yellow Castle to Classic Town.

This looks very nice WhiteFang. I would suggest adding some signage outside identifying it as a museum, if you can. Perhaps also a ticket booth, or is this a free museum? I would also agree with TheBrickster, a few pointy windows, and perhaps some snot around to make it look even more like ruins. Right now, the front wall looks a little plain.

But I do really like it!

Unless you own a few of the older sets, ordinary yellow arch pieces are surprisingly hard to come by. (I know from experience since I tried to build a version of the Classic Town castle wall myself a few years ago). Perhaps using some inverse slope pieces, which are more common, would break up the blockiness of the entrance and provide a more detailed facade.

I would also like to see a tower on one side, I think it would look nice and allow a little more freedom for interested figs to wander!

I agree with the others in that it needs some kind of shop or bus stop to add to the street a little. Also if you do have yellow arches those would help too.
