Modulex Guy Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 I put my MOC of my modulex castle here instead the castle section because its more "other theme" with Modulex than "castle". Well... here is my Work in Progress of my Modulex castle: Its taking me a long time to get this done since Modulex are tiny, hard to use with my big hands, dont really stay together well, and am very limited on the pieces I have. The first finished tower: Some minifigs helping build the castle: I will post more pics as I build more. Quote
Jipay Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 Note : modulex ARE lego bricks for architects. Quote
Sir Dillon Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 You have a nice building in the works, especially considering the rarity of the bricks. For those who are confused about these bricks, here is previous discussion about them: [Link] Quote
KimT Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 Note : modulex ARE lego bricks for architects. And for timetables and schedules. I know that a lot of School Administrations have used modulex to keep track of classes, teachers and students. You can actually get one huuuuge baseplate to hang on the wall Since Modulex is a LEGO product, I actually think this topic does belong in the History Forum. Great MOC by the way. I would love to see it done in yellow Keep up the good work and make sure to show your progress along the way. Quote
Norro Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Very nice work! I've been meaning to experiment along these lines for a while, so thanks for proceeding me. I particularly love the shots featuring figs... Thanks for sharing and God Bless, Nathan Quote
Millacol88 Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Nice castle you've started there, Polish Guy. I know that modulex are basically smaller lego bricks for architects, but you said they don't fit together as well? Are they made of a softer material of some kind? I particularly like the last shot, with the "giant" knights. Quote
Commander Flash Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Just like how aliens helped build the pyramids Modulex seem neat, are they the same Lego ABS? I am a fan of the sandy red Quote
Reaper052 Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 It might be next to impossible to put detail into modulex mocs, but I always love to see people using them. I think it would be a nice change of pace compared to normal system Lego. Reaper052 :skull: Quote
posades Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 I can definitely see the shape coming along nicely, for the scale of the bricks it's a really nice design so far. What color are the modulex bricks you are using, sand red? Quote
Modulex Guy Posted August 8, 2009 Author Posted August 8, 2009 Nice castle you've started there, Polish Guy. I know that modulex are basically smaller lego bricks for architects, but you said they don't fit together as well? Are they made of a softer material of some kind? I particularly like the last shot, with the "giant" knights. Due to them being from the 60's they are quite old and dont have the tight hold on each other, some bricks just fit a bit loose compared to the others. It might be next to impossible to put detail into modulex mocs, but I always love to see people using them. I think it would be a nice change of pace compared to normal system Lego.Reaper052 :skull: Sure is! I can definitely see the shape coming along nicely, for the scale of the bricks it's a really nice design so far. What color are the modulex bricks you are using, sand red? the "sand red" is actually Modulex's version of Brown, black base, orange entry, and it will have a light blue moat. Quote
blueandwhite Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 Sand red is one of my favourite LEGO colours so it's nice seeing it used in this Modulex MOC. It's too bad that sand red bricks seem to be so exceedingly rare (even LEGO 1x2 sand-red bricks are unusually expensive on bricklink). Good stuff! Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 The photo with minifigs is so adorable! Quote
CastleLord Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 Hmm maybe i should try this with my modulex lego..... Oh and Very nice castle! CastleLord. Quote
Norro Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 Interesting, the modulex I have suffer from too tight a hold, I suspected that either the tolerances were more difficult to control, or it was assumed that they would not be disassembled... Personally I've never been able to make sand red 'work' in any context, but the modulex shade is nicer ; ) God Bless, Nathan Quote

Dan the Brickman Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 interesting. I remember hearing the term "modulex", but never realized that they were smaller. Quote
Modulex Guy Posted August 13, 2009 Author Posted August 13, 2009 Sorry for the lack of progress info. I've been busy with school, but I managed to build a bit more. I finished the rough outer walls and one tower. ...and now, Time for lunch! Quote
Myrtle Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Hello to you all, as a new member to this forum please excuse me if I don't get my first post quite right! I have recently come across my collection of Lego Modulex - stored in a bucket for many many years! I never had normal sized lego as a child and when I got the chance to play with it,itseemed huge... Your castle has really made me smile as It reminded me of the buildings I desparately tried to build ata young age. The pieces are small and sharp and very tight fitting so my young fingers were always sore. Despite scouring the web I am still looking for info on Modulex as more than half of my pieces have the lego logo on them rather than the M which seems to be more common. Also I have a lot of transparent bricks. I notice there are a few of you who have Modulex and would be very interested to hear from you! Quote
Paul cantu Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 This is really cool. I like how huge the minifigs are compared to the castle. Quote
Modulex Guy Posted August 23, 2009 Author Posted August 23, 2009 thanks for the comment, no more progress yet, building other stuff and school takes most of my time. Quote
Lego_Warlord_8 Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Reminds me of the first Lego castle set ever sold. The pinkish color looks quite interesting. ~LW 8~ Quote
