@8404: I'm pretty excited about the tram and what rails it'll run on. The usual RC tracks or different tracks?

I wouldn't be amazed if it comes with NO rails... or just straight ones: 3228b.gif

Thanks for the pics (again) Legomilk!

The latter 8404 seems to fit the description very well. And the elevated train is surely 7938.

But - wait - that means we are getting red bicycles and another yellow bus? :hmpf_bad::wink:

Hey did anyone notice that there was no bus or tram stop is spoken of - also I feel that it will just be a push-along tram, but for track - there too no word of that either. I guess we just have to wait until the first pictures eh ?

Thank you very much for this information, legomilk! :classic:

But wait - does this mean that 7848 will not only be a truck but a whole truck stop?! :oh:

It's only concept art. Maybe this is made for 8404.

Even if it is so, to me, doesn't matter, actually. The rails could be bought as an addition.

Why are you sure that the elevated train is 7938? To me, I doesn't seem very much alike. And, accroding to your logic, there is a bus from 7641, a bike from 8401 and 2 taxis from 7936, right?

I'd rather see a tram AND an elevated train, be it 4-stud wide, no matter. Sure, along with a bus, bikes, cars etc.

I've already commented on it above. Actually, this is not so important, because everything is focused on MEANS OF TRANSPORT. I'm pretty sure there will be bus stops and train stations, yet simple.

Thank you very much for this information, legomilk! :classic:

If I am right, 7848 will be just the same as 3221.

Again about the tram:

I hope its wheels will be track compatible - meaning: you could push along the tram without tracks and without PF stuff if you want to, but if you want to run it on tracks (and with PF stuff) you have the opportunity to do this, too, without MOCing this set.

About the bicycle:

I could well imagine that TLG does this three wheels big bicycle. Which sense would it make to do a new mold for a regular bicycle since the current one is great (apart from that we nearly always do only get it in red)?!

If I am right, 7848 will be just the same as 3221.

I originally thought that, too, Night City Dream.

But:

1. Why did legomilk then post the whole picture of the Truck Stop poll option?

2. Since the Lego Truck and the Octan Truck shown on this pic are already released, it has to be the green truck. But I thought that TRU wants to promote themselves with releasing a blue-white TRU truck (since the original name was even "TRU Truck").

As said hundreds times before. The pictures is only CONCEPT ART. They contain many models released even BEFORE the voting started.

It is ment to give an idea of the future set. It's not written in stone it's gonna look like that.

According to Brickshelf, this is what they say about 7848:

"{delivery truck - toys r us}

City -

Similar set to 3221.

2010 (Not yet released)"

I would assume it's the same yellow truck with TRU-logo on it instead of the Lego-logo.

@Ferdik: Of course it's concept art. But all released sets so far were very close to the former concepts (town plan, Cafe Corner).

8404 sounds really good for package to expand your city (transportation). If it isn't too expensive and doesn't contain too much "extra stuff" I'll defenetly buy two or more.

What comes to 3221, I just purchased one from Finnish hypermarket. (19,90€, cheap?)

Well, if the pic's art is faithful to the set, the new 'three wheels big bicycle' will be red, too

Nonetheless, the idea of having a good LEGO trike rickshaws is quite exciting!

Wait so no Monorail? Damn :cry_sad: Oh well a Tram is just as cool.

The tram will probably blue like it appears in the concept art and also as mentioned because the red passenger train is well red

And the tram in the art was very sweet and nicely designed.

As I read there are 2 Exclusive sets according to Legomilk?

Truck stop as well as the Transport Center??? :oh:

I am happy to get another bus providing however that is a different color or different style than the City Corner Bus.

A two segment long hybrid bus would be nice :sweet:

Car and Bike are great, hoping for a new rare color bike reproduction  As for car, something different.

And hopefully the truck is an delivery truck or something similar.

Great stuff and thanks for the news

The same webshop also has a short description of 8404. For what it's worth:

"This LEGO set was chosen out of three proposals by the biggest LEGO fans. This set contains a tram, bus, car, bicycle, truck and lots of minifigures!"

I know this thread is a little bit nagging, but i just have to say:

The Tram could be running on a monorail (or similar system)

Why?

1. Because a train without rails is like a car without wheels, you can't really play with it properly.

2. Lego has really got back to their roots lately and the monorail prices are ridiculous high. Why wouldn't they want a piece of that cake?

3. I want a monorial. :classic:

I hope I can end my speculations now and just wait for the pics that never show up.

EDIT: But with the bus and truck it will be too expensive with a track system and stations included. I rest my case!

Over and out!

You say it, Ferdik.

And if it came with tracks, it would have to include all that PF stuff, too. That means that the price will be near to the new Passenger Train - and I don't hope and expect that 8404 will be more than 150 Euros (supposably more around 100 Euros).

I looked again at my plan for my final layout (hopefully I will somewhen in the future have really that place I need for it) and changed completely my mind regarding the "driving function" of the tram:

Since I will never have that place to run a tram on tracks, I really hope that it will run on hidden wheels (like e. g. the 8091 Republic Swamp Speeder). So it can even drive directly on the road (and not only next to it) which is more realistic anyway.

And hopefully the truck is an delivery truck or something similar.

That's a great idea, Macoco!

Since we'll get either another truck or even a whole truck stop as the second TRU Exclusive, even another huge truck (like 3221) would imo get boring. Much more exciting would be a limonade truck or a food delivery truck.

At the best would be if 8404 included not only the vehicles already confirmed (and of course two small stations), but even a salll snackbar with delivery truck (for the snacks and drinks sold there).

Btw: Since we got a pizzeria last year in the awesome 7641 City Corner: Do you think that the "truck" mentioned in 8404 could be a pizza delivery car? (Although many of you surely would like that, I'd prefer a regular food/limonade truck since I already own the pizza delivery car included in the set Pizza to Go.)

As I read there are 2 Exclusive sets according to Legomilk?

Truck stop as well as the Transport Center??? :oh:

It's not sure yet. I personally wouldn't count on it - although a whole truck stop would of course be great and be much more interesting than only a truck in different colors to 3221.

Oki so I got some info on this TRU voting stuff...

As I read there are 2 Exclusive sets according to Legomilk?

Truck stop as well as the Transport Center??? :oh:

According to my sources all sets from that TRU-vote will be released. Wasn't sure though in what channels though. (If they would be TRU exclusives or not.) But they're being released...

Now where did the idea there was to be TWO exclusive sets from TRU ? :oh3:

Some cards must be playing close to both Lego's and TRU's chest's eh ?

A fridge truck for dairy or meat would be good for a change.

I still wonder about this Octan thing my friend told me all those months ago - ah, well we all must play the waiting game !

I'm a conformist! ! :sweet:

Exactly! I was thinking about the steering of the swamp speeder eariler. A road based tram with hidden wheels, perhaps 180 degres moving wheels in the front, so it will behave like a tram and not being as stiff as lego trucks without steering. It would be a fine addition to the city.

WTF ?

A small toystore with a truck stop - ????????

I can understand the logic - Lego truck, TRU truck, cargo train, - get the flow right !

So does this mean that the toystore will also be a TRU - seem logical doesn't.

Is there going to be a servo with takeaway next door to said toyshop ?

A bit like city corner, one small building with pumps, one multistorey or larger, a truck, of course staff, truck driver and kids to go shopping in that toyshop.

It would be nice to know when at least it is made all offical eh ?

I really hope that your sources are right since this sounds awesome! :oh:

So I'd bet that we firstly will see the City Square option in 2011.

According to my sources the truck stop set includes a TRU-truck and a small toystore.

A truck stop with a toy store?!

You have to admit that this sounds really strange - esp. since we got a toy store already last year (the awesome 10199 Winter Toy Shop). But a Lego Store would be possible - and be a dream becoming real! Nevertheless since sounds strange to me.

And what's about the other contents of the truck stop set? I mean: If it only included a TRU truck and a small toystore it wouldn't be named truck stop but toy store.

I also thought it was funny that "Truck Stop" would be a "truck stopping at a delivery point" truck stop rather than what everyone is thinking of

I should confess that I'm not 100% sure that it was the actual "Truck stop" set that was reffered to. I assumed that as that was the option I were refering to in my question (as the rumored winner of the TRU vote). My source said that "they will have their own truck with a small toystore". I guess now that I think about it, it *could* also be reffering to the third option "city square". But I don't know why there would be a truck in that set.

Mirandir... Perhaps everyone here is well aware of your source. I'm kinda new to City and am not-- Obviously you're not going to sell out whomever confided in you, but is this speculation on the part of your source or is this 100% confirmed??

I wasn't into City when they did the anniversary set, so I'm very interested in the idea of a great Town Square.

Well the source has never been wrong so far. So it's pretty reliable. However I guess the info is liiiiiiiiitle bit vague and doesn't directly rule out the possibility of there being more things included in the set. However the wordings of the statement makes me doubt that there is anything more. But of course I'm hoping that there is a small diner of some sort that my source just forgot to mention.

Wow, Lego is definitely going green now: Either this is a photo-voltaic plate or a warm water solar panel.

Way to go!

(and it's open to the back, Klaus-Dieter will be delighted.)

Concerning 8403: That's not the only "going green" thing about it. There's even a green garbage can! This could be one for organic waste (otherwise it wouldn't be green)!
