I'm the programmer, Hinckley is the graphic designer.

Sorry about that. You had quoted Hink and so I saw his name, then I scrolled up just a little and saw root admin, so my brai took over.

Whoops :sweet:

Recently, I've had another issue come up. When I have a space between paragraphs, it doesn't always show up, and sometimes it'll take out spaces between words once it's posted default_wacko.gif. I don't know if it's been happening to anyone else, but it's getting a little frustrating.default_sceptic.gif

What editor are you using and what browser?

Sieggy: Hey Sieggy!

Sieggy: Yeah?

Sieggy: Have you noticed that this topic have become more about complaints and requests?

Sieggy: Yeah...

Sieggy: Any idea why?

Sieggy: No...

Maybe that's why. It works perfectly fine on Firefox, IE, and Google Chrome.

Sorry if I'm being a bit blunt, but isn't that the whole point of this thread?

No, it was to announce the new board and post upgrade related issues.

Alright. Just curious. One thing's for sure. No more complaints from me :classic:

OK, well I've enabled the annoying RTE on Opera 10.63....

New line. Something was inserted above the previous line.... yeah RTE still is annoying. Time for another line...

Yeah, lines are good.

Double line! Feel the power!

Time to post.

RTE on Opera 10.52/Safari 5.0.2.

Aside from still disliking RTE, it works OK for me. If it affects Safari as well it could be a Java issue. I'm not sure.

Complaining is OK, it's just that this topic has become huge and thus is not too useful. It'd be better if people with problems found an old topic that was similar or created a new one.

That posted OK too. I'm going to turn off RTE before I puke...

When we see a post count or topic count or whatever count it normally comes up with a number lik: 1220220, is it not possible that you could add in a coma so it would read 1,220,220. It makes it easier to read.

SPAM ALERT BELOW:

While in Barcelona I saw the cathedral thing and I couldn't help but think that the name was:

The Siegfried Familia instead of the Sagrada Famalia.

I even said that out loud before my mate started bursting with laughter.

I cannot stand the RTE, it makes using images as your words for a link near impossible. It took me a while to realize I could turn it off. Made my life alot easier. I'm sure it's good for some, but not me.

Sorry, this may be off topic.

Sorry, this may be off topic.

I just tried to turn it on today. It looks weird at first, but works fine. Then again, I have not tried linking through images or things like that.

Anyway, I turned it off already. I prefer the not RTE version.

I've been making some surprise new emoticons. Actually, I'm making them complicated to spell to encourage people to learn how to spell, but they're new regardless! I'll work on a facepalm... default_satisfied.gif

Ah, good- then I can change my sig to something more original default_laugh_new.gif

Can you also not read the last page of this thread?

There is too much to keep track of, maybe you should update the first post of this thread, and there is still a problem I can't change the board theme, I don't want themes forced on me

Hey guys,

Any word on when those incredible EB app icons will be included in the site?

Thanks :classic:

Say what? I thought you wanted them as link icons. What would we need to do to "include" them? Can you give me an example of a site that has?

You made me curious (even though I don't own anything 'i'-stuff). According to this, it can be included in a 'link' tag in the html header.

<link rel="apple-touch-icon" href="/Graphics/iphone-icon.png" />

Oh, so iOS is so important now that it deserves it's own icon tag?! :hmpf: But yeah, you're probably right. I'll look into this further and probably add it.

Thanks for saving me a bit of research! :sweet:

EDIT: Upon further research it isn't very commonly used. Even Apple.com doesn't! But there's a second method; rename the file and shove it in the root of the server. I'll do that.

Haha sorry Sieggy!

I have come across a site which I can do it manually, it would save you some time.

I can link a screen shot to show you what Im talking about if you want :classic:

Probably the same as a site's Favicon then. The file for that (favicon.ico), by default, also resides in the root directory. If you want to change its name or location you should use an html 'link' tag for that as well.

Because Apple dominates your precious Android.

I'm just waiting for the iPhone and Droid to fry the Windows Phone.

It should work now; I uploaded it just after my last post. You might need to refresh/create a new link. If that doesn't work try burning it. Could help.

Yeah I know; you gunning for my job eh? Most sites, including Apple.com just shove a file named "apple-touch-icon.png" in their root directory, so I did the same.

Perhaps, but Apple dominates the way you do things on their devices. No thanks.

I'm not so sure. We're in some really interesting times for smartphones;

  • Android is hitting its stride. My Desire got the recent OS update (at last) and it has doubled the battery life. Also, Sony could even have a PSP Android phone out next year!
  • Palm with HP backing have a second chance at making the Pre work.
  • Windows 7 phones, while too new for me to buy, look promising.
  • Nokia, while not doing much good of late, are still in the game. They just need to do a re-think, much like Microsoft did.
  • Apple... yeah they're OK. Shame they put form over function; a good example was the recent antenna issue. Anyone with RF experience could have told them how stupid it was...

But if you want to discuss this more go here.
